Glorious Day in Missouri!

We have been blessed with the most glorious of days today! It's sunny and clear, and not too hot, with a nice breeze as a bonus! I think it's 84 degrees, but the breeze makes it so nice!

Have you ever had one of 'those' stamps? You know - the ones that you reach for over and over again? Well, this stamp today is one of 'those' stamps! It works up so beatifully, with so little effort!

I made this card per the Our Creative Corner challenge sketch for this week.

I stamped the birds on white CS. I then stamped it again on DP. I cut out just the parts I wanted, and pieced them onto the birds bodies. I did just a wee bit of coloring on the tree/leaves, punched the image out, distressed around the edge, and added some flat pearls for bling. You know me and my bling...sigh - just have to have it! The ribbons are actually an old retired TAC image that I stamped onto the DP and cut out - don't they look real???

The image is Inkadinkado, the DP is TAC, and the Ink is Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise. Hope you enjoy it!

DH is taking me into the city! Heart be still! We are going to not only Michael's where I have a 50% off coupon (one reg. price item) but to Hobby Lobby as well (only 25% there...). I still have some money left at HL from a gift card I received for my retirement, so all in all, I shouldn't have to be TOO bad today!

Hope you enjoy your day, and your weekend! I'm giving myself a bit of a break from the challenges I've been doing, and am trying a few others this weekend.

Blessings!

Gloomy doomy rainy day...

It's dark and gloomy here right now, and it is making me sleepy!

Just thought I'd take a few minutes away from monthly reports to post a few quick cards! These were all done VERY quickly!

Melisa Waldorf's challenge this week was to use fun flock! My first card uses white fun flock on the cupcake, and the red glitz is done with red stickles (thanks Shirley!). All stamps are from TAC.

Lisa's challenge this week was to find a tool that we haven't used in ages and make a card with it. I was literally perusing my 'tools' when I thought...AHA! I have not used a sticker in so long that I can't remember the last time I used one! So....my unused tool is "stickers"! All stickers are from Karen Foster Designs.

The challenge at 365 Cards yesterday was to use the prase "You can do it". Unfortunately, I didn't have any stamps that said that, so I went to my trusty word program and printed it out on Kraft cardstock. The stamps are TAC, and the paper is from Old World Mat Stack. (I haven't had the courage to go to 365 yet today to see what the challenge is - lol!!!)

Just a reminder that Gina K. Designs is releasing several new WONDERFUL stamp sets tonight! They have been giving us sneek peeks all week long - can't wait to see the whole sets!!! Hope to see you at the release party!

So....I guess my break is over! Hope you are all having a fantabulous day and dodging the raindrops!

Ewe Rock! and a bit of sponging....

Before I get to the challenge, I want to say thanks to all of you who drop by here each day, and leave such wonderful comments! It's hard to thank each of you personally, and I appreciate every kind word. I have been incredibly busy the last week or two, so please forgive me if I don't get around to each of your blogs every day. I'm trying to find a balance between this never ending remodeling job, doing the business end of my DH's construction work, and play time for self! I'll get it figured out soon!

So, my card for tonight is pretty quick! Monday's challenge at 365 Cards was to make a card using homophone(s). What a unique and fun challenge! I have loved looking at all of the participants cards - they are awesome - you should go check them out! I used no stamping tonight - this card is strictly scrap DP, and computer generated sentiments. Hope it brings a smile to your face. I remembered one of our teachers at school giving us this one year, and looked until I found it!!! Enjoy...

Good morning! Decided to just add my sponging card for 365 Cards challenge to this entry, since it's only been up a little while!

Stamps are TAC, sponged with Stampin' up, Stickled shower cap and buttles, made center line and colored with Sharpies! Saw this idea on Chelsea Comer's blog a year or so ago, and I hope this is sorta what I remembered!!!

Until tomorrow...

Peace out dudes and dudettes! I'm weary, and headed for bed!

Do NOT laugh...

So... whoever is the first to laugh at this evening's post will absolutely, unequivocably, positively, be written out of my will!!! I'm just sayin'......

Today is Sunday, so of course, we have a sketch challenge at 365 Cards. Here is the sketch:

It looks totally harmless, doesn't it? Actually, very fun looking, right?

Well, my friends, it kicked my butt! I've been thinking about this card ALL DAY LONG wondering what to do!

I have SO much respect for all of the other participants - their cards are gorgeous! Mine is very nearly comical! I'm not complaining, just laughing at myself! However, I did complete week two, and I think I actually remembered to post every entry!!!

Without further ado, here is my quite silly card!

DP is Basic Grey Euphoria Collection, and Gina K. Design's free downloadable paper. Flowers are Petaloo Dazzlers. I used a border punch for the side and top, and the little square and half circle are popped up. Whew...is it Monday yet? Lol!!!

Lisa, I'm working on yours and Melisa's tomorrow! I promise! I have one wall to paint top half one color, bottom half another color, curtains to press and hang, and monthly reports to begin. Other than that, my day is free!!!

Hugs to all - if you get a chance drop in and say hello to Sarah - she is Pat's daughter, and is about 10 years old, and has started up the cutest blog!

Happy Sunday...

Saturday's Just Rock....

What can I say? Even being newly retired, I love Saturday's...

My day started at a good friend Shirley's home. She was having her Christmas in July open house for The Angel Company business she is so good at! I was invited to help with her make and takes. This is always fun for me too, as I learn something new, and visit for hours with ladies that share my love of all things ink and paper! After a wonderful morning there, I stopped at the grocery store, and then came home and got into my beautiful paint attire. I managed to get one full wall in our hall painted today, so I'm pleased! Now it's time to post my 365 Cards challenge card and go spend some quality time with DH.

The challenge today was to scraplift a card from one of their DT members. I chose this card by Vicky to CASE.

I got everything punched and stamped, and was ready to assemble, and remembered that I had used all of my black and white ribbon on a project last week! Arggg....... thank goodness, that like another 365 blogger, I have imagination! (Thanks Carolyn!) I found some very deep brown checked ribbon, and it will have to do. Perhaps the judges will be colorblind - lol...

Here is my card - hope you like it! Stamps are TAC, all CS is scraps, mostly DCWV.

Well, have a wonderful night one and all and we'll see you tomorrow! Do NOT forget about Lisa's new challenge tomorrow! I promise you will not be disappointed! Lisa is so talented - this challenge is destined to be fun and exciting!

Hugs!

Mirror Me...

Where has this week gone? I've thought all week I would try some new challenges, and suddenly it's Friday!!! Egads, time flies, and I don't feel like I have accomplished much. Oh well, that's what next week is for, right? Lol...

The 365 Cards Challenge for today was "Mirror Me". We were to create symmetry on our card. Well, again, I didn't have much time, so this was done in a hurry. I thought it best to not include any bling, or sentiment. I thought it was peaceful as is...

The tree image is from Rubber Stampede, Inc. The little birds are from Stampscapes, and I used a Rubber Stampede Mirror Image Stamp to reverse the image. (This is a flat stamp that you actually stamp ON, and then quickly stamp your cardstock while the ink is still wet). I sponged with Ice Blue Color Box Chalk ink, and stamped with Versafine Brown.

Hope you enjoy it - it is supposed to resemble trees at waters edge. I think I need some lessons on this technique!!!
I am certainly enjoying the 'blurfing' that I have time to do. It's so much fun to see all of your beautiful creations, and to get to know each of you through our love of all things paper and ink...
Be sure to check out the badge at the top right on my blog! My dear friend Lisa, is starting a Sunday afternoon Challenge!!!! She is wonderful, and sweet, and talented, and I can't wait to see our first challenge! I will be there for sure!!!
Blessings!

A break from my ladder duties....

Well, actually, today it's more likely my 'down on the floor' duties! I'm working on the lower half of a wall right now! I took a short break to work on the 365 Cards challenge for the day. Since it contains butterflies, I am also entering it in this week's Flutter By Challenge. Today's challenge is "Ad Inspired". Amy found an ad with this photo:

and challenged us to be inspired to create while checking out this ad photo.

Here is my card:

The small stamped area's say "oh, yeah" and "u rock". All sentiment stamps are TAC. Ink is Versafine Black, Adirondack Denim Blue, and Stampin Up Groovy Guava. I used the Groovy Guava on the background stamp. It's an old wood mounted stamp with no name on it. The striped DP is Cloud 9 Designs, and I added a couple of thin blue stripes... I used my Tombow markers on the Happy Birthday stamp so that I could two-tone it.

Back to work I go. Sorry I'm being neglectful of your blogs. I promise to make up for it when this remodel job is done. You will actually be quite tired of me then!!!

Have a good night...

Susan...

So, I finally inked up my new Elizabeth Bell stamp, Susan. You can go to Susana's site to see all of these adorable little people - you will want them all!

Today's challenge for day 144 at 365 Cards is "You Raise Me UP". We were to try to incorporate two ways to 'raise' our work up off the page.

I popped up the blue bordered background.
I popped up the fence.
I popped up the little boquet of flowers sticking out of the fence (it was supposed to appear that Susan had been picking the flowers...).
I popped up Susan, AND the sunshine, AND the sentiment (TAC)!
I think that qualifies for raising it up!
I am also using this card for the challenge at Our Creative Corner. The OCC challenge is a "Triple Play". We were to use three items to embellish our card (brads, eyelets, bling, ribboy, buttons, thread, floss, beads, charms, rub-ons, liquid applique, or crystal laquer).
I used ribbon (top right corner), brads (on border), bling (on her jeans buttons), and crystal laquer (on her necklace and pony tail holder).
The next card is for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, which was to make a shaped card. I did the ladybug from scratch. The sentiment is TAC.

Well, I probably should cut this short tonight and not stay around to chit-chat. I have a swap to work on!
Have a great night, and remember to cherish each precious day always!

Sympathy (with a catch!)

Today is Day 143 at 365 Cards. The theme is Sympathy, but there is a catch! This 'Keep it to Yourself' challenge is to create a Sympathy card without putting the sentiment on the front. Whew...sounds like a CAS card to me, and you all know how I get along with CAS!!!

I found a scrap piece of printed vellum that worked perfectly on a light gray card. The stamp is Inkadinkado, inked with Charcoal ColorBox Chalk Ink. Add a ribbon - voila! A five minute card!

Hope you like it!

Patti J.

~If someone offers you a penny for your thoughts, and you put your two cents in, where does the other penny go??? : - )

Ewww.....

Have you ever felt that way (ewww....) about something you've made? Tee hee...

Before I show you my card, I want to say hello to everyone and apologize for not getting around to your sites to comment. I promise to catch up later this week. My plate's been pretty full the last few days, and I've done really well to sit down for 5 minutes at a time. I miss you all, and I'll catch up as soon as I can!!!

This card follows the sketch at Midnight Madness,

and the theme at 365 Cards. (Again today, I am quite positive that I'm being punished for something!) The theme at 365 Cards was to let the "Twilight" movie inspire your card. Yikes!

We were to use a black card base, and use a patterned paper where red was the dominant color, and embellish with glitter or rhinestones. So, with that being said, here is all my poor tired brain could do with this one...

The large stamp in the center is Inkadinkado, and the Dream stamp is The Angel Company. I used Versamark, and embossed in silver. I did NOT use the embossing buddy on it before embossing, as I was hoping for a 'vampire' feel to it, and wanted some extra 'stuff' here and there. I do wish you could see the DP - it's quite lovely (Daisy D's Designs) with black roses and ribbons on it...

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

It was Super Sketchy Sunday at 365 Cards today. Here is the sketch:

And here is my card... You can see that I flipped it upside down! The butterfly, stars, and flowers are popped up. Hope you like it!
CS - DCWV
Ribbon - From my stash...
DP - Paper Adventures (KP Kids & Co.)

"Paint It"

Happy Saturday!

I think that on this beautiful, glorious Saturday, Pam, over at 365 Cards is attempting to punish me for something!

I rushed over to see what her challenge was this a.m., and EGADS! The theme today is "Paint It"... Now, for most, that's not an issue. However, most of you know that we are in the midst of a minor renovation around here, and that I've had a paintbrush in my hand at least part of every day this week! So, when I saw the word "P-A-I-N-T" I almost ran and hid! Instead, I went to the cabinet to check out what paints I might have on hand. I had exactly two colors - orange and green. YUK! I couldn't think of a thing to do with these colors - so I mixed the two...Ahhhhh...that's some better - now I had a hue of hideous brownish, greenish, color, that sort of resembled some things the kids used to carry around in their diapers...tee hee.

I grabbed one of the reject paint samples from earlier this week and thought, aha! And here is the end result - let me know what you think!

Pam, if you are reading this, I'm only kidding - this was a fun challengs!!! I love having to think 'outside the box'! You rock!

Supplies: Making memories paint, DCWV CS, Paint Sample Strip, TAC Stamps, Brads from my stash, Ribbon from same stash.

Have a great Saturday - off to Lowe's and Sherwin Williams!

Paper PIERCING, not piecing!

So, today, I was on the ball! I was actually going to have a challenge done early, posted early, and get some cleaning done. Ha! I misread piercing for piecing and had to start planning all over again! Best laid plans....gotta have a sense of humor in this hobby! Notice that once I got started, I nearly pierced this thing into obliteration!

The challenge for day 139 at 365 Cards, was to use the paper piercing technique to create a pattern on our cards. Here is mine.....

Looking at it on the 'big screen', I realized that it would have been prettier if I'd pierced the two outside edges in reversed format so that the little round part in the center was to the outside edges. Oh well, I will for sure know next time!

Supplies:
Stamps: TAC, Stampland, Inkadinkado
Piercing Template: Lasting Impressions (a gift from my bestest stamping bud, Shirley)
Inks: Marvy Heritage Collection
Dusting Brushes
Starburst Glitter Pen
Colored Pencils
Flat Brown Pearls

Since this has a butterfly, it may also be entered in the Flutter By Wednesday challenge if I'm not too late!

Off I go - am headed to St. Louis on an excursion to find eyeglasses for DD.

Hugs to all! Have a great day! Pat, you are in my thoughts and prayers, chin up girl!

First time for everything this week...

I am actually on time with a challenge! Of course, there are 15 more that I've printed out and have on my desk that I just can't seem to get to this week. I've been painting and cleaning, and just setting aside a little window of time to play, instead of the other way around!

So, here is my 365 Cards challenge card for today. The theme was "She said, and I quote'... We were to include a quotation on our cards. I decided on this cute stamp. I purchased it a couple of years ago when it was approaching my sister's birthday. And since I only have one sis, I've only inked it once! I thought this was a good opportunity to use it again!

This was one of those 5 minute cards! Here is the recipe:

DP - Cloud 9 Designs
Ink - Stampin' Up Wasabi Green
Stamp - Stampabilities
EK Success Edge Punch
Tombow Markers
Martha Stewart Pre-Tied Bow
Pop Dots for the sentiment
That's all folks! - Easy peasy! - 5 minutes - no kidding!

Well, I'm off to blurf for a while and check out YOUR blogs! Haven't gotten to do that in a while, and I have about 35 minutes before DH gets home.

Take care everyone.

I'm in a Bind...

Today's 365 Cards challenge is "I'm in a Bind". The challenge was to bind two pieces of cardstock or something together to create your card. Before I go on, notice that I said TODAY'S challenge! Yay me!

Some have used lacing, brads, bind it all's, etc. I thought I'd try to create a couple of puzzle pieces and have them hold together two sides of a gatefolded card.

Stamps are Inkadinkado's - Inks are Versa Fine Brown, and Stampin' Up's Tempting Turquoise. DP is The Angel Company and Scraps that I'm not sure about!

This was really quick and easy - hope you like it!

Time for my bath and my bed - see you all on the flip flop!

Red, White, and Black...

What is red, white, and black all over? Challenge #136 at 365 Cards! Yes, I know. I'm still a day behind! I'm a dollar short too, so be nice!

Here's my card for yesterday!

I just used scraps, so don't know the paper company. The stamp is Inkadinkado, and the little sentiment is AMuse Art Stamps.

I've been busy today washing linens, windows, etc., so haven't been in my girl-cave much. Maybe tomorrow...

Hugs to all...

On the Outside Looking In...

Yesterday's Challenge 135 at 365 Cards was "On the Outside Looking In". We were to create a window on our cards using something see-through.

I knew that I wanted to use this cute new set from The Angel Company that my friend Shirley ordered for me, and what a perfect stamp for a window theme!

I sponged the sky and grass, did a little stamping, a little coloring, and of course, a little bling! It doesn't show up on the photo, but I used the stardust pen on the water, and it looks like it's really wet! Cutting out the little girl was a bit tricky as her teensy little legs are SO skinny!
Let me know what you think!
Well, the All Star Game is over. It was a good ball game regardless of the outcome! Always fun to see the old timer's , and to see all of the current best of the best on the same field. And however you may feel about the President, it's always fun to see a U.S. President in our own home town, and he certainly was gracious and pleasant to all.

I'm off to blurf for a few minutes, and then try to get some zzzzzzzzz's. Hope your night is restful and that you have a great day tomorrow!

Grrr....

Just kidding! My post this a.m. has to be speedy quick. I'm due in town in 30 minutes to do 1/2 of a workshop at a monthly stamp club. Can't be late!!! lol

My card today is as quick as my post! It's silly, so don't look too hard! It's for Our Creative Corner's challenge, and the theme was Pets! Well, anyone that knows me also knows my passion for dogs! One of our own blogging 'sisters', Pat, is having some tragic family issues in Algeria right now. She needs a little cheering up, and I'm in hopes that this card will make her smile! If you get a minute, drop by her blog and give her some kind words.

Here is my card:

It's Raining in Paradise!

Well, once again, we have a rainy Sunday here in Missouri! I guess we really need it, but now the yard will need mowing again!

Since I couldn't get outside, I worked on a couple of cards today. (imagine that...)

The first card is for Stamptacular Sunday's challenge. This was a sketch challenge. There were only two stipulations: you had to show some stamping someplace on your card, and the "sketch" itself had to be fully apparent when the card was finished. Here is their sketch:

Here is my card:

Stamps: All stamps by Unity
DP: Unknown (used scraps from stash)
Ink: Memento Black
Tombow Marker
Gelly Roll Black Glaze Pen

The second card is for today's challenge at 365 Cards. This challenge was a sketch as well:

Here is my card for 365 Cards:

Stamps: Car Riley, Great Impressions Sentiment
CS: DCWV
Ink: Versafine Black
Tombow Markers
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders
Gelly Roll Silver Glitter Pen

Hope at least one of these makes a smile in your day! I think all of the stamps used are just adorable, and they make me happy! I'm off to change some laundry over and then work on the OCC challenge! I'm determined to work around the house this week, so may not get much accomplished in my craft room for the next few days.

Take care, and have a good day!

Tiny Bubbles.......

Today is day 133 over at 365 Cards. Today's challenge is to think of bubbles and how they might inspire your card. Vicky's beautiful inspiration card is here:

Here is what I did! Every time I lean back in a tub of deep, warm, delightfully smelling bubbles, I remind myself that no matter how crazy or bad the day was, life IS good!

So...I made a little matchbox - It's about 2.5 x 4 finished size.

All stamps are TAC, and again, I used Versafine black ink as my images were detailed. The barrell was colored with Kooh-I-Noor Colored Pencils and blended with mineral spirits and all other coloring was with Tombow markers.

I have a package of wonderful bath salts that I plan to put some shredding in around and under, and this will make a very cute last minute gift for someone special!

Hope you like it! It was fun to do!

Have a great weekend - I'm off to run a few errands, then back home to start some supper. Hugs and blessings to all of you!

Whew...

I don't even know what to call this one, except "thank goodness I'm done with it"!!! Today's challenge over at 365 cards kicked my backside! I just couldn't think of a thing to do, so I did the easy way out!

The challenge at 365 Cards was to create a card using this picture as inspiration. Wow! The chocolate just made me think of chocolate! You can't do very much to improve chocolate, can you? lol...

Here is the photo:

Now, before I show my project, the challenge over at Midnight Madness, was this sketch:

And....Diana over at Memory Crafter posted this box challenge for this week:

Last, but not least, Our Creative Corner's challenge was to use red, white, and blue.

Now, I knew that I would never find time to do all four projects with DH home, so I combined them! I followed Diana's directions and made the box. I used the inspiration photo for the chocolate cake, stars, etc., and I followed the sketch over at Midnight Madness for the layout on the box. All were done as you can see, with red, white, and blue!

DCWV CS, Stamps by The Angel Company, Versafine Black Ink
Whew.....thank goodness that tomorrow is another day! I have a HUGE respect for you ladies out there that tackle more than one challenge at a time every day. I think that there must truly be brain cells hating me right now!
Have a wonderful evening - we are going out with some friends, so I will probably be off the computer until tomorrow a.m.
Blessings!

Relax...

Pam posted a photo on 365 Cards today as our challenge.

We were to look at the photo, and see what it made us think of. The things that really called to me were the vivid blue in the shower curtain - it made me think of water, and all of the white furniture, floor, and ceiling! The white made me think of an Adirondack chair...and...of course - the chair made me think - relaxation!

Let me know what you think!

Here is the photo:

Here is my card:

Stamps and Papers: The Angel Company
Ink: Versafine Black
Sand: Paint samples from our local big 'box' store!

That Tickles Me...

Today's challenge over at 365 Cards, is to make a silly, or funny card, one that 'tickles'.
This stamp is one that I don't get to use very often, so I couldn't resist. And, be honest, dear friends, haven't you even just once or twice wanted SO badly to mutter this sentiment (Put your big girl panties on and deal with it) to someone???

Anyway, this little stamp definitely tickles me!
Stamp: Stamps Happen
Ink: Versafine, Black
DP: Best Creation
CS: DCWV
Flower: Dazzlers by Petaloo
Another thing that tickles me is my blogging friend, Georgia, over at Gram's Place. Georgia sets her OWN challenges, and succeeds at them all! Her blog is so bright and cheery and fun - if you haven't been over to see her, please drop by. Sign up to follow while you are there - she is one very nice, and very fun lady! You will enjoy her blog!

DD was stung badly by something last night. She is pretty highly allergic, and we had several pretty frightening hours. I stayed up until a little after 3 a.m., and got back up with her around six, and she seemed like she was doing fairly well. She had to go on into work today, so I'll be curious to see how she is after a 12 hour manager on duty shift. A few hundred more grey hairs for mom!

Okay, I have procrastinated long enough. I'm off to my ladder to do some painting! I'll try to have something new for tomorrow! I've been working on a swap, and could post it, but then Chelsea and Suzanne wouldn't be surprised!!!

Take care, everyone!

Fabulously Pleated...

The challenge that Melisa gave us this week was to use pleats on our design.

I chose to make a little fancy dress. Easier said than done! After several attempts, this is what I came up with!

I cut a slit in the branch on the top and slid the dress shoulders up into it, so that it would look to be hanging from the branch. The little decorative edge was cut with Fiskar's scissors, and the edge that was trimmed was what I used at the bottom of the dress bodice. Papers and stamps are all The Angel Company.

Yesterday was like Christmas in my girl-cave! I received a wonderful care package from Pat in Surrey, UK. It was packed full of beautiful things. I can't believe that I have met so many kind and thoughtful people through this blog. Pat, if you are reading - thank you so much! I will treasure all of the things that you made!

I also received a couple of orders - one was from Susana's that I cannot wait to ink up! She included the cutest little freebie to say thanks for the order. What a nice way to do business! The other order was from Unity Stamps, and I am so anxious to find time to play with those as well!

Last but not least, a box came from Anna! It was the blog candy that I won from her a short while ago. It took three postal workers, 10 mules, and myself to carry that huge box of stamps out of the post office! Lol - just kidding, but Anna, what a ton of stamps! If that's what you got rid of, one can only imagine what you have! If you have not been to Anna's blog, it is well worth the trip!

It's a glorious Tuesday in Missouri - hope it's as beautiful a day wherever you are. Have a great day! I'm off to paint a window frame! The remodeling is about to start at our place, and once it does, my craft time will be somewhat limited!
