Bird and a Poinsettia Border

Hello Friends!

I'm up on the Technique Junkies blog to share three holiday cards, using beautiful new release stamps from Technique Junkies.

I chose to work with #S914 Bird and Poinsettia Border today. Hope you like this stamp as much as I do!

First up, was this pretty blue card. The image was stamped in a soft shade of blue onto a shiny silver cardstock, and matted onto a blue base. I totally love this one!

Moving on, I repeated the process with a tan theme. Love this one too! (It's not as dark as it looks in real life - more of a silvery tan).

Now, comes the mess.... this one was heat embossed in silver, and then colored with copic markers and fussy cut, adhering the image to a burgandy colored card base. Lol...I like the first two cards much better! What do you think?

So glad you stopped by today!

I Hate Housework

 Hi there!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is 'LOL - make a funny or snarky card'.

Here's what I made:

The older I get the more I dislike cleaning - I'd much rather be creating!

I found a fun stencil at Walmart the other day, and decided to go simple with this card. I stenciled the background, stamped and matted the sentiment and Ta-da, Ta-done!!!

Wendy has a fun selection of funny/snarky stamps in her Funny Bones section - you really should go take a peek!!!

I used this Repeat Impressions' stamp:

Let's see your projects! Remember, you don't HAVE to use Repeat Impressions Stamps, but if you do, you have double the chance of winning!
I can't wait to see your beautiful scene cards!!!

Santa's List

Hi everyone!

I'm back today with another fun Christmas card !

Remember, we send out over 180 cards each year, so I am always looking for some fun, easy cards that can be easily mass produced.

This adorable image, Santa's List, from Jan's Digi Stamps, comes in either a black and white, or a pre-printed format. Once again, I was looking for fast and easy, so I chose the pre-colored image, matted it on pink, and then on a white card base

I wish you could see the tiny embellishing that I did with Glossy Accents & Wink of Stella! So cute!

I'm off to create...!

Light of Faith

Hello! I have two quick and easy, pretty Christmas card to share today!

For these cards, I used a new release stamp set #SS142 Light of Faith, Set of 4.  For each card, the sentiments were stamped onto white cardstock with pink ink, matted with gray, then pink, and trimmed out in silver. The gray card base was created by using pink ink and an Ink Blending Brush, and the Dancing Sprigs Stencil. The focal panel was then popped up with dimensional foam. Aren't these pretty? Took about 10 minutes per card. Seriously!

These sentiments are gorgeous! They would be a wonderful addition to your Christmas sentiment stamps!

The cards were super easy! Give it a try!

So glad you stopped by today!

No Tricks, Just Treats

Hi there, crafty friends!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is 'No Tricks, Just Treats'. We want to see your Trick or Treat style cards and hopefully some fun treat holders!!!

Here's what I made - It's a treat box (haven't bought Halloween treats yet, so it's an empty box, so far):

These ready-made boxes from Stampin' Up made this one a breeze! A bit of patterned paper, and some stamping, paper piecing, and fussy cutting, and voila!!!

I used these Repeat Impressions' stamps:

Let's see your projects! Remember, you don't HAVE to use Repeat Impressions Stamps, but if you do, you have double the chance of winning!

Vintage Ornaments

Hello there!
I have a pretty Christmas card to share today!

For this card, I used a new release stamp, #SD1121 Vintage Ornaments. The image was stamped with Versamark Ink, and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. The panel was cut down, matted on the sides with a brushed silver cardstock, and set aside. I folded my card base, and stenciled #STE001 Jingle Bells, with Versamark Ink, giving a shadow stamping effect. The focal panel was then popped up with dimensional foam to the right of the card front.

Super easy! Give it a try!

So glad you stopped by today!

Poinsettia Wreath Wishes

Hello Friends!

I'm up on the Technique Junkies blog to share two pretty cards, using beautiful new stamps from Technique Junkies.

The #SS143 Poinsettia Wreath Wishes is one of my favorites from this release. The set includes the wreath stamp, and 6 sentiments: Wishing you Holiday Joy, Christmas Joy, Peace on Earth, Joyful Wishes, Warm Holiday Wishes, and Season of Love. I thought it might be fun to create a couple of different looks with this set.

For my first card, I used an Ink Blending Brush, and some Distress Oxide Inks to 'antique' the background a bit. The image and sentiment were then stamped in brown ink, and colored with Copic markers. Next I took the Shining Star Stencil, and made up a glitter paste to spread over the stencil, being sure to go just to the edge of the image. The flowers and leaves were covered in Glossy Accents and set aside to dry. The focal panel was adhered to a burgandy card base. Last, I added a few dots of gold Stickles for some additional shine. I'm pleased with the way it turned out!

The second card was fun, veering away from traditional Christmas colors to a pretty pink and mint green. Again, the image and sentiment were stamped with brown ink, but this time the coloring was done with colored pencils. I squeezed on some Diamond Stickles over the entire image for a 'snowy' look, added a few dots of Gold Stickles, and went to work on the background. Using a straight edge, I drew diagonal lines with the pink pencil, and began coloring in the stripes with pink and mint green pencils. The focal panel was adhered to a pink card base. This one made me smile!

I'm such a Christmas Junkie - am loving this release!

So glad you stopped by today!

Merry Chris-Moose...

Hi everyone!

Can you believe that it's October 10th, and 80 (yes 80) degrees in small town Missouri! Any of you that know me personally, know that I am greatly enjoying it!

So...today I have a Christmas card to share with you. Generally, we send out over 180 cards each year, so I am always looking for some fun, easy cards that can be easily mass produced.

This adorable image, Merry Chris-Moose, from Jan's Digi's, comes in either a black and white, or a pre-printed format. As I was looking for fast and easy, I went with the pre-colored image, and matted it on black, and then on a piece of plaid background paper to match his shirt.

What do you think? Is he adorable, or what???

Okay, have made a few of these...off to create a few others!

Thanks so much for stopping by today,
Patti J.

Retro Reindeer

Hello Friends!

I'm up on the Technique Junkies blog to share three pretty cards, using beautiful new stamps from Technique Junkies.

I was totally smitten with #SD1119 Retro Reindeer the moment I saw it. I just knew that I wanted clean and simple cards, letting the image showcase itself! I make approximately 180 Christmas cards each year, and this may be what I make this year! Let me show you what I created!

For my first card, I though embossing and embellishing with silver on black seemed perfect, so that's what happened. The sentiment is from a wonderful new set #SS142 Light of Faith. I used a 5 x 7 card base, and cut a black focal panel and silver mat, a bit smaller than the card base. The deer and sentiment were heat embossed in silver, and a strip of silver Washi Tape (that resembles grosgrain ribbon) was added diagonally for some grounding of each stamp. The layers were assembled, and a beautiful card was finished!

This view just shows the shine a bit better...

I had printed some of this very light background paper for a workshop that a friend and I are teaching later this month, and fell in love with it. (It's actually digital dollhouse wallpaper!).

Short and sweet, the card base is light gray, and the image and sentiment (also from the #SS142 Light of Faith set) were stamped with black Versafine ink for a crisp image. This one will probably be our Christmas cards this year - I love the utter simplicity of it, and the sentiment really speaks to me. This will be the first Christmas that any of our family has been HERE for Christmas for a very long time!

I'm not only a Technique Junkie, but a Christmas Junkie, so this release has been SO much fun to work with!!! But...WAIT until you see next month's amazing stamps!

Think Pink

Hi friends!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is 'Think Pink' in honor of those who have had, or been touched by breast cancer.

I have known people going through breast cancer that appreciate kind thoughts, but get tired of pink ribbons, so I went outside the box a bit...

Here's what I made:

I stamped the flowers 3 times on my focal panel, stamed the sentiment, colored the images with Copic markers, added a bit of Washi tape at the bottom edge, and adhered the panel to my card base.

I used these Repeat Impressions' stamps:

Let's see your projects! Remember, you don't HAVE to use Repeat Impressions Stamps, but if you do, you have double the chance of winning!
I can't wait to see your beautiful scene cards!!!

Santa Paws

 Hello!

I have a fun Christmas card to share today!

For this card, I used a fun new release, #SD1116 Santa Paws. The image was stamped and colored with Copic Markers. The hat, nose and eyes were then covered in Glossy Accents for some shine. I then reached for the A Colorful Life Designs 'PAWS' stencil, and used gray and red inks to create a background around the pooch.

Super easy! Give it a try!

So glad you stopped by today!

It's October!

Hello!

It's Release day at Technique Junkies! We have some great new stamps for you, and all of them are 15% off through Oct. 8th! No codes are needed, just put them in your shopping cart and the discount will be applied at checkout.

There is an awesome Gotta Have it All Bundle, and a little preview of the new stamps!

Wow! It's time to be making those cards for winter and Christmas! I've had so much fun with these new seasonal stamps! I chose today, to use the beautiful #S916 Christmas Frame for the background on each of these cards, and #SS142 Light of Faith for sentiments.

Here is my first card:

I could NOT get this one to photograph!  Even purchased a new light box, but no go. Mama said there'd be days like this! I colored the image with Copics, and a white gel pen for highlighting, and fussy cut the image. The center portion of the 'frame' was ink blended using some Ink Blending Brushes, and the sentiment was stamped with black ink. Once the panel was finished, it was adhered to a panel of silver metallic cardstock (not black!). The card base is deep green.

Here is the same background stamp, and a sentiment from the set above. These were heat embossed in gold, and matted onto a burgandy colored base and sentiment panel.

Which one is your favorite?

You can check out the entire new release HERE!

I hope you like these fun new release items, and can't wait for you to see the rest of this release!
