First time for Everything!

Hello everyone!

Well, I am going to try a new (to me) challenge today. I was blurfing this morning, and saw the inspiration photo on the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge. Oh my goodness! That photo made me happy enough to try again to load my photos, and it worked! Thanks ladies for all of your help yesterday!

Here is the Tuesday Trigger inspiration photo:

And here is my card:
Supplies used: Bazzill CS, Stampin'Up! Ribbon, Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss Embossing Folder, Copic Markers, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Ranger Glossy Accents, Gina K. Designs "my cuppa joe".

As you can probably guess, the first thing I thought of when I saw the beautiful doors and table was COFFEE!!! Actually, having a cup of coffee with a wonderful friend! Then I noticed that touch of pink in the vase, and had to add a bit of pink. I think this picture will keep me happy all day - I actually printed it out and hung it up for the day!

I am also going to enter this at 365 Cards. The challenge there today is the #1 challenge for their new year, and it's a 'white space' sketch challenge - I've posted the sketch below.

Hopefully, your week is off to a great start! We actually have no rain, no snow, and SUNSHINE!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see your card over at the Tuesday Trigger and 365 Cards!

Blessings and smiles!

Really Quick Post

Wow! It's been a busy two days! I promise to catch up with all of you tomorrow! Got the photo's this afternoon, so am going to work hard to finish up the birth announcements. Here's all I have managed to get done so far this week!

365 Cards Sketch for Sunday and card:

365 Cards for Monday was "Pretty In Pink" - here's my card:

Hope you are having a much blessed week!!!

Long Overdue...

Well, Pam at 365 Cards tried to convince us that we are long overdue for a Sports theme card. Our orders from headquarters were to use a ball on our cards. No problem! I had a choice of a golf ball, a baseball, and a football. Since the football was the biggest, and I would have less card to fill with 'other stuff', I chickened out and chose the football! Pam, if you are reading, we tease you a lot, but your ideas are endless and fun! Keep on keepin' on!!!

My card is really simple. I started with Gina K. Design's downloadable paper (on Stamp TV, in the Freebies section - really!). The football is Inkadinkado, and the stopwatch is clip art. The sentiment is a fun quote from Erma Bombeck.

If you can't read the sentiment, it says, "Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed in twelve minutes. Half-time takes twelve minutes. This is no coincidence".

How true!

And...can you believe that football season is upon us already? I think I would love football as much as I love baseball if the Referees would let the players play ball. I get tires of those flags flying on every play!

Let the games begin...

Have a blessed Sunday!

Patti J.

Baseball players really are smarter than football players - how many times have you ever seen a baseball team penalized for too many players on the field?

White Space

Ouch! The theme today at 365 Cards is White Space. We were given the following sketch, and were told that the only stamping, designer paper, embellishments, etc., must be contained within the black lines. Well, this might be easy for some, but YIKES! That whole clean and simple thing just freaks me out!

I probably 'stretched' my black lines a tad here, but I either had to do so, or sit on my hands, and if I had sat on my hands, the card would be unfinished! Actually, if I'm going to be honest, I did really mean to trim down the bottom line, and had everything adhered before I remembered to do so!!!

Card and envelope:

Card front:

Card Inside:

Supplies: DCWV CS and Matstack, Colorbox Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink, Raffia, Antique Button from Grandma's button jar, Autumn Ribbon (Hobby Lobby)

Hope you like it - I am stuck on fall right now. I love the colors of fall and spring! They are so much fun to work with.

Have a great day!

Checkerboard meets the Jungle!

First a quick shout out to my special friend, Chat Dump Girl, who is feeling quite puny today. Hope you feel better very soon, my friend!!!
Gosh, the days are flying by! It's day 179 already at 365 Cards, and the challenge today was to use a checkerboard pattern on our cards. This is one thing that I love about these challenges...I am 'challenged' (imagine that!) to do something that I would never get up this morning and decide to do on my own!

I used Copper embossing powder, and a retired TAC square stamp, and heat embossed a pretty fall background in checkerboard fashion (don't look too closely at my crooked squares!). Decided that I should keep this simple, so just added some fall leaves and a couple of inches of fallish colored ribbon.

Hope you enjoy it!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Next up is a card that I did for Janet's Corrosive Challenge. The theme this week is "Jungle Theme"... this little TAC Lion is just too cute NOT to use! Don't you just love his sweet little face? Come on, peeps, be honest!!! And look at this fabulous leaf trim - It came from The Cat's Pajama's, and I am crazy about it! The other 'bordering' on the card is just a piece of the new DCWV Animal Crackers Matstack. (DCWV-Another thing I just can't do without!!!)

Well, I am supposed to be working on monthly reports, so I guess, perhaps I should get to them!!! Have a great evening, and I'll try to get around to your blogs and see what you are up to before I turn in tonight!!!

Back to School...

It's day 178 at 365 Cards, and the theme for today was 'Back to School'. I decided to make a little bulletin board project complete with a ginormous paper clip, and a calendar. This first photo shows the whole project. You can't see it, but there is a black satin ribbon at the top to hang it with....

Next is a shot of the calendar. I didn't have a lot of back to school related stamps, so I used my Printmaster Program for some of the graphics, and for the calendar page.

Here's a better view of the little 6 x 6 cork tile. I stamped a couple of TAC apples, and a TAC sentiment, which reads "these are the days to remember".

Finally, a ginormous paperclip finishes the project. These I purchased a long time ago at our local office supply store, and just haven't used them until tonight.

I hope that you all have pleasant dreams! I fought a naggy headache all day, and I'm going to give in to it soon and go to bed!

Shirley, if you are reading, I apologize for not calling you back. DS, DH and DH again, all called, and by the time they hung up the last time, it was 10:20. I will talk to you in the a.m. Enjoy your walk!

Good night all...

Quick Post...

So, I didn't have to road trip with DH today, but we stayed quite busy until 3:30 when he left for Branson. I sat down and cranked out a couple of quick challenges, rather than to spend time worrying about his travels...

This first card is for 365 Cards and for Mojo Monday. As always, Mojo's challenge is the sketch, and the challenge today at 365 Cards is to use a monogram on your card. Well, believe it or not, I was a monogram-virgin until today!!! TRUE! I had never made a card with just a monogram on it ever, ever, ever!!! I kept it simple, stayed with the sketch, and used up a few scraps!

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

The second card is for the Cuttlebug Spot. This is my first time to play their challenge. The challenge was to make a card using the word "hot". Wowzers, that was a hard one!!! Anyway, I stamped up my Riley in his cute little car (he's a little "Hottie" you know...), and colored him with Kooh-I-Noor pencils and Tombow Markers, used a few scraps and a cuttlebug embossing folder, and whew....a tough one behind me!!!

Hope that you all had a perfect day, and wish you a good evening. DD and I are headed to a Pampered Chef party where I'm sure we will be pampered beyond belief!

Take care, be safe!

My first 4-fer!

So, today, I created my first ever 4-fer! Whew! My brain is smokin' - I'll sleep like a baby tonight! I have re-vised this! I have created my first ever FIVE-fer!

First up, is the Mojo Teresa sketch for today. As Mojo turns 100 this week, the DT are posting sketches every day this week! I'm one for three.... got some catching up to do! Anyway, below is the sketch. Note that, as usual, I turned the sketch on it's end - sorry! I really tried not to!

I also followed the ABC Challenge for week two, which is: "B is for Buttons" (note the two teensy buttons on the wheels!)

Then, of course, there was the 365 Cards challenge!!! The theme is ABC's and 123's - We were to use alphabet stickers, and at least one number sticker. I don't know if you can read the little silver stickers or not - they say "SK8R"...

Last, but not least, the challenge at Pile it On, was to create a masculine card for boy or man. Done! (Thanks Lisa!!!)

Last (really!) thanks to Maria, I have also posted this on the Lots to do Challenge. This week is an open theme - post anything, so I posted this darling little Ian!!! He's too cute NOT to share!

Supplies: Stamp: Skater Ian (The Greeting Farm) DCWV Rockstar and Indian Summer Fall Mat Packs, Versafine Black Ink, Kooh-I-Noor Pencils, Letter/Number Stickers

Well, hope you are all well. I am going to blurf for a few minutes, watch the Cardinals play ball (DH flew out today to watch some baseball with DS), and work on my birth announcement order!

Have a wonderful night!!!

Boo!

Well, here is my very first Halloween card!

It's one of those 10 minute specials, but I really wanted to participate in Barb's first challenge, and don't know how much time I'll have the rest of the week (making multiple airport runs 1.5 hr. from home...and...still working on 110 birth announcements!)....

For those of you that aren't aware, Barb Foster has started a new Halloween Challenge Blog! You can find it here! She's calling it the Macabre Monday Challenge. For the challenge this week, we were to dig out our flower/foliage stamps, and instead of making them pretty, we were to make them spooky looking, or 'dark'... I had a bit of Halloween DP on hand, and used a new TAC stamp, spritzed it with water, added a sentiment from TAC and done!!! Barb, I promise to work harder next week!!! lol!

The next card is for the 365 Cards challenge for today. The challenge was a trio - use a triangle, a sticker, and a button. Pretty self -explanatory! This card also works for the Artful Inkables Challenge, which was to use Black, White, and Red on a card! Also, self explanatory!

Have a great night everyone! I'm off to cut out more baby blue things and glue them on brown things!
I have a 6 a.m. run to the city to the airport tomorrow, so I'll see you whenever I can get here!

Sleepy...

Cardinal's are trying to win the ball game! DS lives in California, and DH is flying out tomorrow to go to some games this week out there - they should have a good time, hopefully!

This will be a super short post, as the old eyelids have been open since 6 this a.m.! I tried and tried to think of something really unique for today's challenge at 365 Cards. In Pam's words: "Today's challenge is called Double Duty because I want you to make a card that doubles as something else.... examples would be a bookmark, a place card, or some sort of pocket card. HOWEVER - NO GIFT CARD HOLDERS OR MONEY HOLDERS!" I finally gave up, and just made a little photo frame for desktop, countertop, etc...

Used cardboard covered with Provo DP from Big Lots, Sentiment is from Great Impressions, Cute little butterfly, once again, is a Megan (Shirley's granddaughter) creation!, and used Colorbox Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink to stamp image. Cute little scallop at the bottom of image was a gift from Jan MacGowan, who is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator.

Hope you like my little project!

See you all tomorrow, and hopefully, with brain cells working!

Patti J.
~Thought I'd leave you with this blessing tonight! Just prior to getting dark, DD came in and said there was a double rainbow.... sure enough, this is what we saw! Blessings, everyone...

Colorwheels... and a front porch view!

Before I tell about today's creations and adventures, I thought I'd post a photo of the sunrise today looking off of our front porch down into the front yard....this is why we love living where we live!!!

Remember the old colorwheels that we baby boomers' parents used to put on our "beautiful" silver tinsel Christmas trees? (ugh...) Well, today's challenge at 365 Cards, immedately brought to mind our old silver tree with it's colorwheel spinning for hours on end, lighting that tree up in hues of Red, Orange, Yellow, and Blue! The challenge for today was to use this color strip:

Dear friends, I am here to tell you that those new EK Success Punches make my life so much easier!!!

I punched & adhered stips of CS in the colors on the color strip with the Bubbles edge punch. I then stamped the sentiment, colored it, matted on black, glue dotted a ribbon and 'done'!

Stamp: Kolette Hall (Michaels $1 bin), Ink: Versafine Black, Tombow Markers, DCWV CS

Am working on some other things in between baby announcements, getting quotes on a pneumatic tank, and paying some bills, so hope to post again tomorrow!

We had Stamp Club today. Shirley led us in making faux felt flowers (too, too, TOO cute!), and I led with the making of a Pizza Box! We had a good time, especially after the chocolate was opened!!! (to fill the pizza boxes...really!!!)

Have a good Tuesday night! See you tomorrow!

Living Inspired...

I got the nicest blog candy on Saturday from Heather over at Oz-Somestamps. Here is what was in the box...

1. The cutest little 3 x 3 album to put together. Heather had included all of the instructions and pieces - I just had to put it together! It is so cute! (It's in a little shiny album, so I don't think it will photo well).

2. A Starburst Gel Pen, and I go through those like crazy!

3. A cute set of TAC stamps, with sentiments. Today's 'Living Inspired' is one of them!

A big thank you to Heather!

Today's challenge at 365 Cards was to use a masking technique. Since I usually do what I'm told, I created a card using a masking technique! (No time outs for me today!!!) I also used Heather's sketch (posted below) for the card. All stamps and DP are TAC.

Hope you have had a good day! I'm working on the order for 110 birth announcements this week, so will be very busy! If I don't get around to your blogs, I promise to make up for it somehow!

Good night all....sleep well!

There is Magic in the Air!!!

Meet Orson!

Orson is Nina's very cute creation! Nina has a new blog - "There is Magic in the Air", (see my link on sidebar!) and will be featuring her very own creations for purchase! Orson was a freebie until Monday, and will then be available for purchase. On Monday morning, she will post another new image!

This card is for Nina, and uses the Sunday sketch over at 365 Cards! Hope you like it!

I printed out the image, cut it out to fit on my red CS. I then used the Scor-Pal to create the diagonal lines, and dotted them with an outlining marker (hoping for a quilted look). I used red stickles for the glitter, and computer generated the sentiment! Ink is Versafine Black, and Orson was colored with Kooh-I-Noor woodless pencils and low odor mineral spirits.

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is well - I have lots to do today, so I will chat more tomorrow! Take care...

A Two-Fer

Well, as Barb F. would say, my card today is a "two-fer"!

Fer the 365 Cards Challenge today, the orders from headquarters were to do a Cool Collage, and not leave any blank places on our cards!

Using the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #13, I came up with the following card.

The little blank places between the squares, I sponged, so technically, they aren't blank any more! Hope you like it!!!

Stamps: Inkadinkado Inchie Stamps, Hampton Art. Ink: Versafine Black, ColorBox Chalk Ink, Charcoal. CS: DCWV

I can't believe we are halfway through a weekend already! They go by entirely too quickly for this old gal!

I was asked to make 110 birth announcements this week. So...today, I went back down to O'Dear's and picked up 56 pieces of CS, some ribbon, adhesive, etc., and I guess that next week will find me buried in baby things! Can't get any more fun than that, in my humble opinion! My friend Shirley went to Hobby Lobby while in the city today and picked up the DP that I still needed, so thanks to her and her handsome manly man, I don't have to make THAT trip this week!

Have a great night, and we'll catch you later!

Take Three!

I was actually able to make today's card for three different challenges.

I started out by following the sketch at Mojo Monday. I'm pretty proud of myself - I didn't flip it on it's side OR upside down! I simply followed the sketch (new concept for this rebel!!!).

Loretta Lock, the August Host over at Our Creative Corner, has created a fun color challenge for us. The theme is: "When I am old, I shall wear purple". I think this card definitely qualifies as a shade of purple!!!

Last, but certainly not least, Day 158 at 365 Cards was "What's your sign?" day. We were to create a sign on our cards.

No pixies were injured in the making of this card as I paper pieced only the clothing!

Stamp: CC Designs Swiss Pixies "Heidi" (from All That Scraps), Ink: Versafine, Black, Tombow Markers, Sharpie Marker, EK Success Buckle Punch, Nestabilities Circle Dies.

Well, dear friends, I am off to paint a wall, and hopefully stimulate some very weary brain cells! Today's 365 challenge is to create an Indoors scene. As I have absolutely zero inside stamps, I am going to have to really think about this one!!! Lol....I have a few ideas floating around... can you say 'freehand'???

Have a great Thursday!

Whew...Catching up!

Well, if you could see me now, you would see me reaching way up and over my shoulder to pat myself on the back! I have caught up Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday's challenges for 365 Cards! I tried to get to the MMSC #12, but I will just wait for #13!

At 365 Cards, Sunday was Super Sketch Sunday. Here is the sketch, followed by my card. As you can see, I flipped the sketch onto it's side. Paper is Karen Foster, Stamp is Dog Gone Stamps. Sentiment is Stampabilities.

Monday's challenge at 365 Cards was an Ad-inspired challenge. Here is the inspiration photo, followed by my card. DP is Scrapbook Walls, Stamps are The Angel Company.

Tuesday's challenge at 365 Cards was "Imagine This: Sunflowers". We were to make a sunflower inspired card. The card need not have a sunflower on it anyplace, but must be inspired by sunflowers. My BOX follows! I decided to make a Pizza box!
DP is Paper Perspectives, Stamp is Hero Arts, Used Ranger Crackle Medium on Sunflower on top of box, and used Stampin' Up Ribbon.
I'm off to try to catch up on some of my 'blurfing'. I need to see what YOU have been up to!
Blessings and hugs to you all.
Good night...

Gloomy doomy rainy day...

It's dark and gloomy here right now, and it is making me sleepy!

Just thought I'd take a few minutes away from monthly reports to post a few quick cards! These were all done VERY quickly!

Melisa Waldorf's challenge this week was to use fun flock! My first card uses white fun flock on the cupcake, and the red glitz is done with red stickles (thanks Shirley!). All stamps are from TAC.

Lisa's challenge this week was to find a tool that we haven't used in ages and make a card with it. I was literally perusing my 'tools' when I thought...AHA! I have not used a sticker in so long that I can't remember the last time I used one! So....my unused tool is "stickers"! All stickers are from Karen Foster Designs.

The challenge at 365 Cards yesterday was to use the prase "You can do it". Unfortunately, I didn't have any stamps that said that, so I went to my trusty word program and printed it out on Kraft cardstock. The stamps are TAC, and the paper is from Old World Mat Stack. (I haven't had the courage to go to 365 yet today to see what the challenge is - lol!!!)

Just a reminder that Gina K. Designs is releasing several new WONDERFUL stamp sets tonight! They have been giving us sneek peeks all week long - can't wait to see the whole sets!!! Hope to see you at the release party!

So....I guess my break is over! Hope you are all having a fantabulous day and dodging the raindrops!
