Hello Beautiful...

Hello friends!

We were in need of a very simple card, for an older lady with poor vision.
I immediately thought of this beautiful rose stamp from Crafter's Companion.

I hope that this brings a beautiful lady a smile or two!

Here are the supplies that I used:

Hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
I'll tell you all about ours next week!!!!! It's going to be awesome!

Hello!

Hello!
So glad to see you today!

It's time for a new 'Anything Goes' challenge at The House that Stamps Built

I'm really looking forward to spring, so...
here is what I made today, using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

I stamped my panel with VersaMark Ink, heat embossed with white ink, sponged some fun colors over the white embossing, matted the panel with black cardstock, and assembled my card front.
Last, I heat embossed Hello onto a piece of vellum, did some trimming, and popped the sentiment up onto the card front. Easy peasy, and what a pretty card!

Now, it's your turn!
Come on over and join us in our Anything Goes Challenge!

Remember, you don't HAVE to use Repeat Impressions Stamps
but if you do, you have double the chance of winning!
I can't wait to see your beautiful cards using this photo!!!

Check out my sidebar to see how you can save money on your RI orders!

It's time to see what my fellow Rock Stars have created!

Project of the Week - Stamping on Photos

Good morning!

I'm the Monday morning hostess at The House that Stamps Built. It's my turn to share a 'Project of the Week' with all of you.  Today, I chose 'Stamping on Cards' as my topic for the day.

If you are a very patient person, there's nothing to this technique.
However, patience is not my strongest asset!

For today's tutorial, I'm using these Repeat Impressions stamps:

Let's get started!

First, you will need an ink that works on non-porous materials.
I've found that these three inks work best. StazOn is my favorite. It's permanent and can be used on paper, transparencies, etc.  It also dries faster than the other two do.

The key to stamping on anything slick is to NOT rock or wiggle, and to let things dry.  Don't even THINK about touching them for what will seem like an eternity!  You might test on some extra photos before stamping on something important.

Since I tend to rock and wiggle, I thought it best to use my MISTI for this project.
First, you will decide where you want the stamp to be.  Place it face down on your photo.

Close the door, gently press on your stamp, and open the door. The stamp should be on the left
side.  Straighten it up a bit, if needed, then ink stamp.  Shut the door again, and press gently on the stamp.  When you open the door, your stamping should be 'picture perfect'...hee hee.
If it's not, you can just close the door, and have another go at stamping.

Now, if you do not have a MISTI, I highly recommend using a stamp positioner of some sort - Stamp-a-ma-jigs work great, but you have to be careful not to smear if you re-stamp.

The next step is to create you card!
I have to admit to 'that moment', when you're typing up your blog, you're on a very tight timeline, and you look at the photo, and realize that you DID smear some ink!  Yep....just look at my upper left arm!  Not a bruise. Nope, it's ink!  Ranger Archival Black Ink, so it's not going away anytime soon!

I used the same procedure for this next card.  This photo has a story behind it that I'll share
at the bottom of this page.  I'm thinking this will actually be going into a scrapbook, as it's a special
story!!!

I hope that you will give this a try! Come back and let us know if you do - we'd love to see your finished projects!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Patti J.

My story is this:  I've been morbidly obese nearly all of my adult life.  In August 2015, I made a life changing decision, had weight loss surgery, and began losing weight.  For 40 years, I was the mom on the sidelines, watching other moms participate.  Our kids were not raised on a beach, or in a pool - that would mean I'd have to wear a swim suit...  Anyway, by the time this photo was taken, I'd lost about 85-90 pounds (my overall total is about 120#), and was feeling very good.  I'd flown to Germany to help our daughter, as she had a toddler and a new baby, and her hubby had to come to the US for 10 days or so.  One day, DD told me that we were going on a hike.  I got my shoes on, made a bathroom stop (thank goodness!!!), and off we went. Imagine my surprise when we pulled up at the base of this 'hill', and she informed me that we were going to the top!  I nearly cried! "I can't do this", I said, repeatedly. She calmly and loving said that I COULD do this, and that she'd help me.  We made it to the top and only stopped for a couple of short breaks.  When I got to the top, it was the best feeling ever!  She had so much faith in me, while in my own mind, I was still that mom on the sidelines!  Thanks to our sweet Melissa, for helping me grow!

Happy Birthday!!!

Howdy, peeps!

Sometimes, you just need a really quick birthday card, and you don't want it
to look 'really quick', right?  So, today, I'm sharing a fun card that I
designed for a workshop in January.  There's a lady in church celebrating
a 90th birthday soon, and I made this today for her, using a beautiful

Isn't this cute?  The cupcakes are simply a wide ribbon that I found locally.

I was gone for a week, and got loads of grandson hugs, but now, I

These items were made using some of the beautiful Spectrum Noir Colorista coloring pads,

Be You!

Hi there!

Happy Friday, everyone!

I'm here today to share something fun from Crafter's Companion.

Spectrum Noir has come out with so many fun coloring options. One of them
that was recently offered on a HSN special event, was a set of cards to color!  The set had six cards in a box, complete with envelopes and card inserts.  These are no longer available, but be sure
to check out the Colorista category at Crafter's Companion for other wonderful coloring options!

Be sure to check out the Crafter's Companion Blog each day for lots of inspiration!

Here's what I made:

No Matter What...

Good morning!

I'm back with a new Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for Repeat Impressions.
Just look at the fun inspiration that Wendy gave us to work with:

I used the three left items...Love, Dry Embossing, and Red.

And, here's what I made using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

I colored the image with markers, sponged in some clouds, added some glitter, and outlined the focal panel with black marker. The panel was adhered to the card front, and then run through my Big Shot in this fun embossing folder. Looks like fabric now, right?  Then, I just stamped and added the sentiment. Easy, peasy!!!

Now it’s your turn! Create a card using the Tic-Tac-Toe board above, and link it up at The House that Stamps Built. Remember, your creation does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include our designs we would love to see them! Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using our stamps in your submissions!

Check out my sidebar to see how you can save money on your RI orders!

Now, it's time to see what my fellow Rock Stars have created!
We are so excited - we have added a new Rock Star to our family - please
drop by and give Shirley a warm welcome!!!

Loving Sympathy

Hello out there!

Sigh....I always dread making a sympathy card, but needed one last week
for a longtime friend and mentor of my husband, whose brother had passed
away.  I immediately went to my digi files, and pulled out some
beautiful items from MHK Designs.  If you haven't been there to shop,
you should go...Mynn has some very lovely images and sentiments!

Here's my card:

I'm going to enter this in the monthly challenge at MHK Designs.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Wedding Gift Bag

Hi Friends!

I'm here today to share a project with you that uses some beautiful dies
and card stock from Crafter's Companion.

Here is a gift bag that I created, using a Die'sire Edge'ables die. These Edge'ables Dies will be featured on HSN on February 6th.  If you watch close, you might even catch a glimpse
of my gift bag!!!

This Die'sire Edgeable die is so beautiful and intricate.  You can use
these on the edge of a fold, or on the edge of a focal panel for a pop-up type
effect.  If you like, you can even cut out the whole piece!  Check them
out at Crafter's Companion!

You Rock!

Hello!

I hope you are enjoying your week - Happy Wednesday!

It’s challenge day at The House that Stamps Built, and we have a new Designer’s Choice Challenge for you. I'm your hostess this week, and I'm challenging you to create 'Anything but a card'!  Let's see those tags, boxes, bags, etc!  I can't wait for you to check out what my fellow Rock Stars have created this week!

Here's what I made using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

I thought it would be fun to use a stamp that I designed - Patti's Flower, on this box lid.
All of the stamping was done with Versamark Ink, and embossed in white.
A bit of bling finished it off.

The box is such a fun size, and SO easy!

The base is 8" x 11", and is scored on all sides at 3".
The lid is 4" x 7" and is scored on all sides at 1".
(Experiment with your lid and a scrap. I found these numbers to be a bit 'short', and added a 'smidge' extra on the length).

That's it!!!  Just cut your tabs, adhere them to the inside of the box and lid, and voila!

The finished box dimensions are 5" x 3" x 2"!
What fun to have a nice deep box - this can hold SO much chocolate...lol,
or some nail polish, baths salts, home baked cookies, etc. Give it a try!

I'm entering this in the "More than one Score" challenge at Scor-Pal.

We hope you will create ANYTHING BUT A CARD and enter it in our challenge at The House that Stamps Built!  Remember, your creation does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include our designs we would love to see them!  Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using our stamps in your submissions!
One lucky person this month will win a $25 Repeat Impressions Gift Certificate!

Check out my sidebar to see how you can save money on your RI orders!

Now, it's time to see what my DT friends have created!
