Winter Wonderland...

Hello out there!

I have not fallen off the face of the earth, contrary to what you must be thinking by now!
I am working on some projects to share, but thought that today, I'd share some of our own little Winter Wonderland!
This photo is looking out from the front of the house. Our front yard is about 5 acres.

This looks out over one of the side fields.  You are seeing the neighbors barn and horse arena.  This field is probably 2 or 3 acres.

This looks out the back of the house toward the other side.  This is DH's equipment shed-workshop.  Just one of his big yellow toys in the picture!

This is a view of the woods behind our house.  Again, our back yard is probably 2-3 acres.  There is a pretty large field from the house to the woods line.

I leave you with our two furry friends, waiting for Santa to come!  They had some yummy bones in their stockings, and were pouting, as Uncle JB was not up yet.
Have a wonderful day!
I'm working on a project for Wednesday's Calendar workshop, so I'll be glued to my room today!

Hugs,
Patti J.

Trimming the Tree...

Happy Thursday!  This week is nearly behind us, and my goodness, has it ever flown by.  I thought I'd make a card today 'just because'.  I've had this wonderful set of stamps for a month or two, and haven't had a chance to ink them up.  How sad is that?  So, here is my share for today...feel free to click on it to enlarge...

Great Impressions Image #H236 Merry Kiss-Moose, Great Impressions sentiment #B229 Happy Hearts, Copic Markers, Spica Atyou Glitter Pens, Marianne Tree Die, Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink, Glue Pen, Glitter, Dimensional Foam, Perfect Layers Rulers (see sidebar for details).

Isn't that moose the cutest?  He's got his tree all sparkly, and ready for Christmas!  I'm entering this in the December Challenge (anything goes) at Great Impressions.  You still have time to enter! Check it out HERE.  And be ready for more Great Impressions goodness!  I'm thrilled to have been asked to be their Guest Designer for the month of January, and will be showcasing several stamps!  Can't wait to get them all inked up!

Now, here is our tree all ready for some pretty packages!  I've chosen the photos that show the mantle, where we place our beautiful Nativity set.

Last, but not least...here is Flake and Sophie, beneath the mantle, all cozied up in their beds.  Sophie is no longer a little girl :)  She needs to go on momma's diet...

CAS Christmas Card...

Hi there!
So... you all know what sort of rushing around there is during the month of December.  To give you an idea of how far behind I am, I plan to BEGIN baking today and BEGIN shopping for gifts tomorrow.  Feel free to laugh.  Crazy, I know.  Some years we don't shop until the 23rd, so this year is not so bad! I also enjoy making Christmas cards for friends, but since it was already December 9th, odds were that was not happening unless I found a CAS card that was easy to mass produce.
Eclipse Tape, Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink, Amuse 'Let it Snow' Stamps, Diamond Dots?, Ink Blending Tool
This was the card I made a week or so ago for a very special birthday.  After creating this, I decided it would work for the Christmas cards I needed, as well.

Thank goodness for Eclipse tape and Distress Ink!
Some of you will be receiving this card - hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

Crafty Friends Challenge #12 (CAS Card)
ABC Challenges (Let it Snow)
Stamp & Create (Sparkly Christmas)
No Matter Which Challenges (Christmas)

Thanks for stopping by today - hope YOU are all ready for the holidays!

Blessings,
Patti J.

Welcome to Day 5 of the hop!
I am pleased today to be showcasing one of my favorite Creations by AR templates, the Gift and Card Combo.

Northwoods Rubber Stamp, Cardstock, Transparency from Office Max
Amuse Candy Cane CS, Stamping Bella 'Frostier' KS207, Copic Markers, Paper Piecing with Bazzill CS, Happy Winter stamp is Paper Salon

I fully intended to fill this box with tags, but ran out of time!  So it's filled with ugly M & M's.  The sentiment is by Penny Black "3274H Once a Year", and reads "At Christmas play and have good cheer, for Christmas comes but once a year!"
Stampendous "JO89 Friends Love, "C037 Snow Angel", Bazzill DP, Copic Markers, Sakura Glitter Pen, Amuse Baker's Twine, Black Colorbok CS, White Office Max CS
Each of these adorable gift boxes has an adorable slide out drawer, for candy, tags, gift cards, jewelry, ornaments, Copic Markers, etc!  This sentiment is from Impression Obsession "Peaceful Season Wishes #D8623"

One winner each day will receive a template of their choice from Creations by AR. The Daily Prize winner will be chosen from comments left on the designer's blog who is featured that day.  The daily winner will be announced the following day on the AR FaceBook Page and on our AR Group on Paper Craft Planet

Greetings from the 'Bag Lady'

Greetings!
I am the lucky hostess this week for the Repeat Impressions Designer Choice Challenge.
My challenge to the Rockstars, (and you, should you decide to accept it),
is to create a bag and/or tag project.

Here is my project:

Tag and bag, complete with crooked ribbon (this was fixed, but not until after the photos were taken.  Oops!  I used the Repeat Impressions 'Peaceful Observation' #2001, and 'Meowy Christmas' #2211. Colored with Copics markers. Ribbon and Twine on tag are from Flourishe's, and the ribbon strip on the bag is from Hobby Lobby.

Tag

Back view, showing magnets.  I just cut up a magnetic business card for my magnets.

I made my tag to adhere on the bag with magnets.  After the gift is opened, the tag can hang on the fridge door, or file cabinet for a few days.

Head over to the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built, to check out the inspiration of my fellow Rockstars!  I know they have some fabulous projects to share!

Then, grab your stamps and link up YOUR creation to Mr. Linky - we'd love to see what your take on this challenge looks like!

Have a good week,
Patti J.

'Frostier' the Snowman...

Squeal.....how am I ever supposed to resist a cute snowman?
And this little guy is cuteness galore!

Stamping Bella 'Frostier' #KS207, Copic Markers, CS Scraps, Amuse Baker's Twine, Red Ribbon from Wal-Mart, Sentiment Stamp from $1 bin at Michael's several years ago.
 Meet 'Frostier' by Stamping Bella!
A couple of months ago, I won my choice of Bella stamps, just by commenting on the blog post!  Of course, as soon as I saw this image pop up, I quit looking.  Anyway, the challenge this week at Stamping Bella, is to create a tag, using one of Stamping Bella's images, so I'm entering this in the challenge.

Wish me luck!  There are MORE cute images than I can count!

Have a great week,
Thanks for stopping by...

Winter Collage

Hello!
Happy Saturday :)
If you read my previous post, you know that our family is happy dancing!
I have a couple of tags to share with you today.
Both are created with the Memory Box Winter Collage stamp.

Memory Box Winter Collage G-1830, Glossy Tags, We R Memory Keepers DP "Snow Flurries-Winter Frost", Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, Amuse Pigment Ink Navy, Copic Markers, Colorbok Navy CS, Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, Bell from Hobby Lobby, Tag is Stampin'Up Decorative Label Punch, folded in half, Perfect Layers Tools (see sidebar for details).

One I stamped in navy ink, and slightly colored, and the other was heat embossed, with white embossing powder on a glossy tag, and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink sponged on.
The glossy tag made it difficult to get a good photo, as it wanted to reflect light.  I even resorted to an umbrella...lol.

I'm actually going to enter a challenge today!
Joan's Gardens' challenge for this week is to create a tag.  I'm sending two - what a bargain!

Have a great day!

HOORAY! No cards today...

Good morning to all of my Blogland friends!

Today is a very special day!  About as special as they get!

By the time you are up and about, and find this post, our DD will be happy dancing like never before. Our dear son-in-law, is home, after 9 full months in Afghanistan!

If you recall, last February 4th, we flew out to Col. Springs to attend their wedding at a beautiful, quaint chapel at Garden of the Gods.

On Feb. 28th, he left for his third deployment, and was gone until about 3:00 this morning.

Our hearts are so full of joy today, as they are reunited, and can begin their lives together.

I want to take a moment to say thank you to all of you...

Many of you kept the USPS hopping, with deliveries of cards, letters, and packages to both Nick and Melissa. You know who you are!  Thank you for taking the time to brighten their day.
Others, did more than their share of e-mails, comments on Melissa's blog or mine,
and most importantly, there were too many 'knee-mails' to count.

From DH and I, Nick and Melissa, and Nick's family - thank you all so very much.

I ask of you one more tiny favor.  Their base sustained many casualties, and our hearts are breaking for the spouses, parents, and children of the soldiers that are not returning home.  Please take a moment today to send up some prayers for these folks. If you aren't the praying type, hold them close in your hearts and thoughts today.  Many thanks.

Hugs and blessings to each of you.

You're an Angel...

Hi there, all my crafty friends!

It's time for a new sketch challenge at the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built.
Wendy, the owner, is the genius behind our great sketches.  When I saw this one, I sent off an emergency order for this sweet angel and sentiment.  I think it works beautifully.

Repeat Impressions 'Moon Angel' #716, Repeat Impressions 'You're an Angel' #2522, BoBunny Snowfall Collection DP, Bazzill CS, Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Square Die, Copic Markers

The BoBunny Snowfall Collection DP was the perfect background, don't you think?

Head over to the RI blog, The House That Stamps Built, and see what my fellow Rockstars have created with this wonderful sketch.  When you are all full of inspiration, nab this sketch, and link up your creation - we'd love to see your take on the sketch too!

Thanks for stopping by,

Why do snowmen wear hats?

Good morning!
It's Monday, and time for a new Stamp of the Week at Repeat Impressions Stamps.
I'm sure you are all wondering why DO snowmen wear hats?
Well, to cover up their bad twig days, of course!

Today, we are featuring the 'Twig Hair Snowman'.  This image is so sweet, that I wanted to keep my card very simple.
Repeat Impressions 'Twig Hair Snowman" #2003, Repeat Impressions 'Thinking of You' #1105, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Martha Stewart Glue Pen, Glitter, Copic Markers, Ribbon Scrap, Perfect Layers Rulers (see sidebar for details)
I stamped the image and sentiment, and drew some black lines to frame this cutie patootie.  All that was left to do was color him, and add some snow.  Hope he gave you a giggle or two!

I'm sure that my fellow Rockstars have had some fun with this image too!

Cheri     Karen     Geri

Check out their creations, and then head over to the RI Blog, The House That Stamps Built, for information on getting this darling snowman for 50% off this week!

Have a great week,
Patti J.

Non-traditional Holiday Colors

It's Wednesday, and time for a new Designer's Choice Challenge at Repeat Impressions.
Our hostess today, is Karen, who has challenged us to make a holiday card, using non-traditional colors.  How much fun!  Out came my brand new, beautiful pink Amuse ink pad, and some bright colors
of Colorbok cardstock.  Love the way this one turned out!

Repeat Impressions 'Winter's Eve', #3805, Repeat Impressions 'Christmas in the Heart', #2204, Colorbok CS, Amuse Grapefruit Ink, Scor-Pal, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Perfect Layers Tools.

I simply folded my card, scored some lines, stamped and matted the image, using my fabulous Perfect Layers Tools, stamped the sentiment between the scored lines, and voila!

Be sure to check out what my fellow Rockstars have created for your inspiration:

Cheri     Joy     Karen     Kecia     Geri     Joyce

Full challenge details are on the RI blog, The House That Stamps Built - check it out! You could be the big winner!  Would love to see your take on Karen's fun challenge, so get out those non-holiday colors, and link up your finished creation!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Results of a business trip for DH...

Hi there, and Happy Sunday!

So, a few weeks ago, my DH sent me on a business trip.  Technically, I could have gotten to the labs, dropped off the water samples, and been back home in 3 hours.  Hmmmm.....nope.  I invited a friend to ride along, and we hit the mall, Cracker Barrel, AND Hobby Lobby.  I had a 40% coupon for Holly Lobby, so this advent box just jumped right off the shelf and into my cart.  Can you imagine?

The images are from Amuse Stamps set: Holiday Tags, and all coloring is done with Copics. Lots of miscellaneous DP scraps used.  Ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  Numbers are done with a C.C. Designs die.

Since it was already in the cart, I decided no harm could be done by bringing it home and making it a bit more festive.  Here is the end result:

Hope this brightened your day!
I am entering it into a challenge at the Fun 'n Flair Design Challenge!  Be sure to check out their darling stamps!!!  Can't wait to get some inky :)

Off to take care of some pre-Thanksgiving chores before the dust bunnies eat our guests alive!

Thanks for stopping by,
Patti J.
