Merry Kiss-Moose!

We have had a great holiday, and hope that all of you have enjoyed the many blessings of the season. We certainly have eaten too much, but have loved having family home with us. Tomorrow, sadly, we take DS to the airport to fly back to California. The only upside to putting him on that plane is knowing that we will see him again in a month! Silly me, you'd think that I'd be used to saying goodbye by now, but these old eyes are tearing up thinking about it! He's 34, not 16 - I feel so foolish!!! Lol...

Today's card is another image of total sweetness from Nina at There's Magic in the Air. I think the moose is really supposed to be wearing a blanket, but I chose for him to be cute and brown! The challenge was to use the image, and to fuzzy it up a bit with something. I used Fun Flock on the mouse hat, and the ribbons, and the star. As usual, Nina's images are just so much fun to color!

I am also posting this to the Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday's challenge. The theme there this week is to use a Christmas theme. Hopefully a Kissmoose theme will suffice!

The Charsma Cardz Challenge for this week is to use 'anything Chirstmas' - I think this works!

Last, but certainly not least, the Colour Create Challenge calls for using Red, Green, and White on a project. Muhahaha....I am 100% certain I have achieved that!

Have a great Sunday!

Still Stuffed!

I don't know about all of you, but this gal ate too much, too late yesterday! Lol.... We had an awesome day. DD was in the America's Christmas Parade in St. Louis yesterday morning. Since she was already there, she went to the airport to pick DS up when he arrived. They got here about 4:30, and we had dinner ready to eat!

I have a card to show today that I made just because I loved the image! It sort of encompasses all of the holiday decorations, boughs, ornaments, candy canes.... This image of total sweetness was created by our Stef, aka Glitterbabe! You can find it at The Stamping Boutique, along with many other adorable images by Stef and by Tracey Malnofski, owner of the Boutique. If you get a chance, drop by Stef's blog and tell her how wonderful she is!!! I hope to have some more of her images soon! The darling wee sentiment is The Angel Company's 'Tag Tidbits'!

Hope you enjoy my holiday card! I trimmed the small section of bough, and left it out of the Nestie when I punched, as it wouldn't all fit!!!

Images were colored with colored pencils and blended with mineral spirits.

Have a great Saturday!

House Mouse Challenge

Hello!!!
Wowzers, talk about a challenge! House Mouse has the most incredibly cute images, and I've only done their challenge a few times. I decided that I would give it a shot today! Janneke's challenge this week is to use a HM image on a double pocket bag! Thank goodness that a tutorial was included!

Here's what I cooked up this evening... I thought about putting make-up in the bag since the image is busy getting her cheeks nice and rosy for her date with Mr. Mouse... however, most of the make-up that I could find to go in the bag is as old as I am! So... I decided what better use of this adorable bag than to hold some adorable greeting cards!

As usual... my image is colored with colored pencils and low odor mineral spirits!

Thanks for stopping by - hope you like it!

Have a great week!

Patti J.

Food for thought.....He who laughs last, thinks slowest!

Happy Birthday Jesus...

This little cutie is an ornament that I made for the Inky Impressions Challenge this week, which was, of course, to create an ornament!
Thanks to Maria, I will also enter it in the Saturday Spotlight challenge, which is also an ornament challenge!

The image, is a sweetie from Inky Impressions. (Thanks to a great friend!!!)
I just hand wrote (I'm SURE that's obvious!) the sentiment out to the side.
She is colored with TomBow Markers.
I took an old ribbon spool, took one cover off, and decorated the rest.
The image is covered with Crystal Laquer for a glossy look.
I couldn't get the camera and the gloss to cooperate, so it looks like it's got lumps and bumps, but that is really just camera fussies and stubborness!
Her legs were attached to the back, (I remembered how cute those lil' 'shelf sitters' used to be!

I certainly hope that your week is off to a good start! It's going to be busy here. DS is flying in from the west coast (YIPPEE!!!), it is monthly report time (UGH!!), I have tons of grocery shopping to do, a gift bag swap to start and finish, business trucks and trailers to be inspected and licensed this week.... if you don't see me, you'll know where I am!!!

Have a great day, and if you missed the blog candy winners, please go to my last post!

I'm so excited!!!

I am SO excited to be a part of the StampTV Member Blog Hop, featuring the new sets! As soon as this was posted, I knew it would be a lot of fun!
Melanie's Festive Frame is the beautiful set that I chose to use. It is so versatile, and different from any set I have owned!
As you can see, I made a set of five cards, plus an A-2 size box (details on SCS). I also snuck the beautiful tree from Theresa's 'A Very Merry Christmas' set in the center of one card, and versamarked snowflakes from that set on another! And...Gina K.'s sentiment from her Comfort and Peace set is included as well!!!
I hope you like these! Let me know if you need any information on anything shown here!

It's very difficult to see in the photo, but the 'white space' in the card below is full of beautiful Versamark Dazzle snowflakes...

The poinsettia's in the card below were bleached to give them this transparent look. This CS is actually a navy blue - I just couldn't make it LOOK navy in the photo! lol...

This green CS is from The Great Outdoors, free downloadable CS at Gina K. Designs.

Card box from the side showing edge.

Card box from the top. Used Crystal Laquer to make it pop a little... cut center out with my trusty exacto blade, put a sheet of acrylic on the back.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I love having visitors. Hope you saw something you liked!
To follow the weekend-long blog, please go to Gina's blog!
Have a blessed weekend! Patti J.

Digi's... who would have thought???

When I decided to try my first digi image, it was under much duress! Really! I only digi'd at first because it seemed so big, so fast, that I thought I should learn in case my rubber stamps become obsolete like 8-track tapes.

-

Now, oddly, I find myself very much looking forward to the new digi releases!
They are in your possession immediately, you don't need to wait for them to be shipped, and you can resize them - how cool is that? There are some folks that are even savvy enough to know how to color them via computer and never pick up an inkpad! Anyway, that being said, today's post features two digi images!

-

I sort of had the urge to play with pop-up cards last night, so here's what I did!
-

Monday's challenge at There's Magic in the Air featured this darling penguin on ice skates.
Kim was the designer in charge (lol) this week, and her twist to Nina's cute image, was to use metallic or shiny paper, cardstock, etc.
Well....I have had this glittery self-stick stuff for-evah!
I decided to use it to create a frozen pond.
A little white fun flock around the edges, and this sweetie was skating her heart out!

---

The snowperson image is another of the SO CUTE images from The Digi Kitty.
I printed out Mr. Snow, and took the liberty of adding a little bit of ruffle and hat extension to give him the love of his life, Mrs. Snow! As you can see, they are quite happy!
(Whew...sure am glad that you can't see where Mr. Snow's hand is!)
(Guess Mrs. Snow should have had some rosy cheeks - I'm sure she's embarrassed!)
There is a Digi Kitty challenge on Paper Craft Planet, that I will probably enter this in.

Well, that's all I have for you today! I hope that these brought a smile to your day.

Mr. Willy Melt and Ms. Betty Will...

Tee Hee.....

The card above was made using a set of free digi images from The Digi Kitty for the Digi Kitty Challenge. The images were individual images, but I decided to put them together.

The story is that Ms. Betty Will asked Mr. Willy Melt "does this suit make my butt look big"??? Well, you can only imagine why she is firing snowballs at him!!!

Lol...

That one was just for fun! Gotta smile, right???
Here is another one of Nina's fabulous images from There's Magic in The Air. This week our twist was that it had to be a monochromatic card! I used Crackle Accents on it to distress and age it, but it's hard to tell in the photo's....

Patti J.

Hmmmm.....Funny how opportunities always look bigger going than coming!

Gobble, Gobble....

Whew...the craft fair is behind us. Thank goodness! What a bummer of a day we had! In all of the years I've gone to this fair, I've never seen foot traffic so incredibly non-existent. No one was selling much of anything. It was a 9-3 function, and we thought the clock would NEVER get to 3:00. We actually packed up at about 2:15 and called it quits. Anyway, hopefully, I can get back to a regular routine now!

The challenge at Stamptacular Sunday, is called "Turkey Time". We are to create a card or project for Thanksgiving time that includes a turkey! Having a turkey is not mandated, but a person gets credit for TWO entries if they include a turkey! It's hard to turn down a two-fer with one card, so here is what I came up with!

Since I still had some basic supplies from my masking workshop on Tuesday, I just used what I already had cut out. I found these great Inkadinkado stamps on my rack, and decided to ink them up with Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink. I added a few brads, a handful of pop-dots, and a ribbon from Hobby Lobby, and voila - a "Turkety Time" card!

Okay, off I go to other places early this a.m.! Have a very safe and blessed Sunday, and I hope that you all find a bit of stamping time today!

If you haven't yet signed up for blog candy, do so here!!! Drawing will be held November 20th!

I'm a bit late with my mask....

Lol...Just kidding! No, it's not a Halloween mask...

I am the 'leader' at Stamp Club today. I am going to fearlessly lead where no leader has lead before! (Well, it's true, all but the fearlessly part - I HATE being up in front of other people!)

Actually, I was asked to do some beginner masking for our meeting today. There will be possibly 10 ladies at Stamp Club today, and of these, only my DF Shirley has masked before. So, we will do these basic projects, and it it goes well, the next time it's my turn, we'll turn it up a notch and do some collage type masking projects.

I'm certainly not a pro at this stuff, but I've been doing it long enough now that it is really hard for me to tune my mind into words like 'basic', 'easy', 'clean and simple', 'quick', etc....

Anyway, thanks for looking, and I really hope you will drop me a comment letting me know what you think - it's still early enough to do something different!!!

Enough jabber - here are my prototypes...
For this first card, I used an ornament image by Inkadinkado, a sentiment by Great Impressions, and this fabulous script by The Angel Company.
I wanted it to look a bit vintage, and be super fast and easy, so only Colorbox Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink was used. The only embellies are the three mini brads at the bottom of the card.

This next card uses a TAC sentiment, and a Great Impressions Tree Image. At club today, we will also have the option of the Stampin'Up multiple tree stamp. Members can choose whether they want a tall card or a wide card. The Stampin' Up Bashful Blue Ink was stippled on for the sky, and the tree was then stamped multiple times using Adirondack Denim Blue. I dotted the trees with my Uniball Signo white pen, and also with the Sakura Starburst Glitter Pen.

Since the card is dark blue, I figured we'd need something on the inside for writing to show up on, so we will put a piece of white on the inside, and will punch a snowflake (EK Success) out before adhering. The glitter pen will also accent this snowflake (I don't think it shows up on the photo)

So, I've been seeing a TON of pink this year - it appears that pink is the new red!!! So...I thought I would spunk things up a little with some color!!!
So.......last, for this card, I simply 'punched' out a circle from a piece of CS using a circle nestie. Using that circle, again, I stippled the Marvy Magenta Ink into the center using a circular motion, and keeping it a little heavier to the outside edge. I stamped the snowflakes by PSX, and the sentiment by Paper Salon with the Magenta ink. The only embellies were a 2" piece of silver trim, and a bow.
The inside needed 'something', so I stamped the snowflakes once in the top left corner.
So, would love to hear what YOU are all doing today!
Hope to have some blog candy posted by tomorrow! Wahoo!!!
Only a few days and a few hits late, right??? Oh well, better late than never!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Patti J.

What a glorious day...

We are having September weather in November! Go figure! In September, we were having November weather, so I guess it is only fair! Anyway, today is absolutely glorious. Slight breeze, temp of about 60, NO RAIN, and plenty of sunshine. Life is good!

I only have one card to bring you today. I'm going to be pretty busy working up craft fair items for next Saturday, so I will probably be scarce this week. If I don't make it to your blogs, please forgive me, and I'll make up for it the following week!

This card features Nina's beautiful sketch for this week at There's Magic in The Air. I played a little with the bottom edge and the background to make it look like a wall and countertop. The 'shiny' is Glossy Accents. All coloring was done with my colored pencils and mineral spirits.

The challenge at Pile it On, was to make a Thank You card. The sentiment on this card is a TAC sentiment, and fulfills the Thank You requirement! OOPS! The challenge changed while I was looking the other way. It is now to use a leaf or leaves on our projects. I'm hoping this will still qualify!

Hope you like it, and that your Sunday is full of wonderful blessings.

Hugs! Patti J.

Glaze it Up!

This card is for Gina K's technique challenge this week.
The challenge is "Glaze it Up" - we are to use our glaze pens on our images. (My photo doesn't show the glazing very well (sad face)...
Go to Stamp TV and watch Gina's wonderful video showing the technique.
She features a new technique each week, all of which are incredible, and she is an excellent speaker and teacher.
Her videos are easy to follow, and to remember.
Past videos are posted on the sidebar (thought I'd tell you that, because once you've watched one, you will want to watch them all)!

I used Rupa Shvede's "So Grateful" set, found at Gina K. Designs and a Gelly Roll Glaze Pen. (My photo doesn't show the glazing very well - sad face)... I distressed with Tim Holtz Old Linen Ink, stamped with Versafine Brown Ink, and used Gina's Pure Luxury Ivory CS. The brown CS is from my stash.

***

We had another glorious day in Missouri. It warmed up enough that driving through town, I had my sunroof and window open. Not bad for November!

***

DD came in this evening and complained of a very sore throat. No fever, just generally puny. Turned in before 8:00! Not like her at all...hope she's not getting strep, or that awful piggy flu or something!

***

Well, have a great evening! I'm going to try to clean up my workspace so I can work tomorrow on planning my stamp club projects for next week. My BFF Shirley volunteered me to be the leader of the pack! We're going to be working on masking, as some of the ladies have never masked before. We'll do masking, reverse masking, and maybe some Retiform Grid stuff if there is time! Let me know ASAP if you have any super duper ideas!

***

G'night...

My post for this morning will be short, as I am meeting a friend to shop and have lunch. The blog award you see above is from our sweet Nikki! I am so tickled that she thought of ME! "Over The Top" is a real compliment – I would have expected “Over the Hill”........

Now for the rules: I need to pass this award on to five people, post on their blog to let them know I left this award, and then I need to answer a list of questions in ONE word. If you know me then you know one word is TOUGH! I will do it though.

Ok, so I can't follow the rules. I’m such a rebel. How can I pass this award on to just 5 people? There are too many of you out there that I would be leaving out if I tried to pick five.
***

In my humble opinion, you are all “Over the Top”. Since I started blogging, I have met so many wonderful, talented friends. Your creativity, kindness, and generosity never cease to amaze me. There are so many of you that I feel like I’ve known forever! You all go above and beyond on a daily basis taking care of chemo patients through Angel programs, supporting our country’s soldiers, helping sick or grieving children or friends, or just sending up prayers when we need them!
***

So...when I grow up, I want to be just like all of you! You juggle families, jobs, financial burdens, illness, and more, and you still find time for each other. Each day, when I turn on my computer, I look forward to reading your notes of excitement when you get a spot on a DT, or your notes of exasperation and exhaustion when your home gets flooded, or pride when your son gets an A on an exam, or accepted into college.
***

Blessings to each and every one of you, my many “Over the Top” friends!!!
***

Feel free to grab this award and play along, and pay it forward!

My one and only....

...Inky Impressions stamp, has been inked up once again! This week, the challenge was a color challenge, using these colors:

I followed Beate's sketch, for her sketch challenge... see below!

My Time to Craft challenge is to use scallops!

So, above is the finished card.
The Ink that I sponged with, the ribbon, and the CS are all SU's Bermuda Bay.
The sentiment stamp is Stampendous.
Shapes are all Nesties...
I used some of my non-Kooh-I-Noor pencils, and I don't at all like the coloring.
Everything bled together.
Sigh...even my SU Ink didn't sponge like it usually does. Seemed al 'globby' or something.
Oh well, it's only Wednesday, and I actually finished a few challenges!
Wahoo!
Life is good!!!
********************
Hope your Wednesday is going very well.
I'm off now to re-make some hunting clothes! You know, you'd think when you paid $120 for a pair of pants, that they would come in various lengths. Nope...guess they think all hunters are 6'8"!!! Lol... and of course, these pants have zippers up the sides, drawstrings on the bottom, we aren't talking a five minute hemming job here! I actually spent a good deal of time on the phone this a.m. early, attempting to find someone to do the alterations for me. Nada to that too! I think sewing is an art that no one practices anymore!
***************************
Take care, all!
