Christmas Shadow Box Swap

Hello friends!

I've been away for a good while, and thought I should pop in with a bit of winter cheer!

There are 9 of us creative folks that decided to get a shadow box swap together. Our good friend, Sally McDonald has led us all in this fun endeavor!

Here is our Christmas swap:

I must apologize for the awful photo. With the glass, I almost have to stand on my head to avoid a glare. I probably should have removed the glass for the photo...duh!

Anyway, from left to right:

middle row: Patti Gilliam, Beth Norman-Roberts, Donna Thielker

We are having a great time with this swap - next up are 'Winter' squares, which we are almost finished with!

Hope that you all had a very merry Christmas!
We were 'home alone', and actually managed to stay out of trouble!

Blessings to all for a healthy, and happy 2023!

Catching Up...

Hi there!

Well, I have a lot more catching up to do! Seems I am making very little these days, until I go to post what I've made! Then I realize I've created more than I thought!

Here are a few little treat boxes I made for a stamping day at Ruth's house:

I made a whole family of reindeer boxes, using the Stampin' Up Design a Treat bundle from this years mini catalog. Aren't they adorable?

Since Ruth was hosting, she needed double trouble, so I found this cute tutorial HERE, and made her a box for TWO reindeer treat boxes!

And last, but not lease, here is what is inside!

Thanks for dropping by today!

Will try to be a bit more prompt in my posting of creations, I promise!!!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Favorite Technique

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is 'Use Your Favorite Technique'.

Here's what I made:

One of my favorite techniques is heat embossing, so I found some pink embossing powder in my stash, and matched it up with some pretty papers - voila!  The envelope was stamped using Versamark ink, so is a 'barely there' look. I like the way it turned out!

Just a few days until Christmas - hope you are enjoying the beauty of this season. We have stayed very busy this month with Advent and Church activities, and now the grandkids are here! Live is good and we are blessed! See you next Wednesday!

I used this Repeat Impressions' stamps:

Let's see your projects! Remember, you don't HAVE to use Repeat Impressions Stamps, but if you do, you have double the chance of winning!
I can't wait to see your beautiful scene cards!!!

Mid Month Card - Warmth and Wonder

 Hello crafty friends!

I'm here today with a mid-month reminder for the Jan's Digi Stamps challenge for the month of December. We hope you'll enter a card!  Now...If you've never been to Jan's site, and looked at her images, you need to go! She offers both black and white, and colored images, and they are all so beautifully done!

The set I've used today is called Ornaments 2021, and it's free for a few more days! The sentiment is from a fun set, It's Cold Outside, and can also be found at Jan's Digi Stamps

I've created a pretty card with this beautiful free set. Hope you like it! If you haven't finished your Christmas cards yet, these pre-colored images make the task so easy and quick!

Here's my card:

I used the image twice, flipping and shrinking it a bit on the left, and added a bed of snow!

That's all I have for you today! Hope to see you enter the December challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back in a couple of weeks with some new digi creations!

Words as Focal Point

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is 'Use your sentiment/words as your focal point'.

Here's what I made:

This photo shows the glitter paper a bit better!

I stamped the sentiment repeatedly on the card base on a diagonal slant, prior to creating my scene!  I used that fabulous glitter paper again for my hill and trees. It does not flake off, and is the best thing since sliced bread - seriously!

I used these Repeat Impressions' stamps:

Dear Santa

Hello Friends!

I'm up on the Technique Junkies blog to share a fun card, using some great stamps from Technique Junkies.

The stamping was done, and the image was colored with Copic markers. A bit of Glossy Accents was used on nose, toes, and eyes.  The Shining Star stencil was then used to accent the background. I used another stamp from the sentiment set listed above to give the envelope a bit of 'happy'!

So glad you stopped by today!

Merry Christmas

Hello Friends - wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving has slipped up on us so quickly, and you know what that means...Christmas is almost here! It's time to get those holiday cards created!

I'm up on the Technique Junkies blog to share a beautiful card, made with a beautiful new sentiment stamp '#SDX174 Retro Merry Christmas' from Technique Junkies. I also used a favorite from the September release, 'SD1016 Beautiful Mandala'.

The Mandala was stamped in red and Catherine Pooler's Deck the Halls green, and once more with Versamark Ink, and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The sentiment was also heat embossed in gold, and matted with some gold cardstock.

I sure do love creating for Christmas, and love this release!

So glad you stopped by today!

Let it Snow!

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is 'Black, White + One Other Color'.

Here's what I made:

I stamped on some fun glitter paper for the printer that I found at Wal-Mart, thanks to my friend Shirley telling me to go look! The hat, bird, and scarf were colored with a Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen. I added some red glittery rick rack washi tape, and cut a section of the white glitter paper in a zig zag pattern to fit between the red pieces.

Christmas will be here before we know it!

I used these Repeat Impressions' stamps:

Border Stitches

Hello Friends!

I'm up on the Technique Junkies blog to share a fun, pretty card, using three beautiful new stamps from Technique Junkies.

For this card, I used #SS140 Border Stitches#SDX200 Little Holly, and #SDX174 Retro Merry Christmas. I didn't have any 'stitch' stamps, so was excited to get this set.

The stamping on the stitches, sentiment, and holly leaves was done using Catherine Pooler's Twilight Ink. The leaves were stamped 4 times. 3 were left gray, and the 4th was colored with Copic markers, and a few dots of Stickles added for the red berries.

Have I mentioned that I'm a Christmas Junkie? Loving this release!

So glad you stopped by today!

October 25th Workshop

 Welcome, friends!

My friend Shirley and I had a workshop on Monday, October 25th. Here are the cards that we made:

What a fun card Shirley had!  I love this fold, and will use it often.

This one is hard to see. I just got a new light box for taking pics, and can't get it to photo nicely, as the strip in the middle is gold metallic.

Here's another beauty from Shirley - love, love love this!!!

When I saw this fun fireplace die set at My Favorite Things last month, I had to have it! Added some 'wallpaper', 'baseboard', a wreath & bow, 'gray floor', and some trees, to finish off this cute card.

Here's another card that uses some metallic papers. Wish you could see it in real life - SO gorgeous!

This is a Pinwheel Tower card. It was fun designing all four sets of 'pages'.

These last two cards were not part of our workshop, but since I had lots of scraps, I decided to make some Thankful cards for our family!

Hope you found something today that made you smile! Let us know if you have any questions - we will do our best to answer!

Hugs and smiles,
Patti and Shirley

Baby it's Cold Outside!

Hello crafty friends!

I'm here today with a mid-month reminder for the Jan's Digi Stamps challenge for the month of November. We hope you'll enter a card!  Now...If you've never been to Jan's site, and looked at her images, you need to go! She offers both black and white, and colored images, and they are all so beautifully done!

The set I've used today is called Baby, It's Cold Outside, and can be found at Jan's Digi Stamps

I've created a couple of cards with this fun new set. They made me smile, and hope that you like them, as well.

Here's my first card:

I used the fun new set 'Baby it's Cold Outside' focal panel. For this card, I chose to use a pre-colored image. I just chose the image, added the sentiment, and pushed print! Easy peasy! You can't tell from the photo, but I've added some Wink of Stella to hat, scarf, bow, mittens, and mugs, and it's SO cute!

Here's the next card:

I used the same patterned paper in the background, so you could see how different the images can look when worked up a bit differently. This time, I worked with a black and white image. The first image, I made a big large, and then brought the same image in much smaller, and placed it in front of the larger image, hoping for a mother-daughter look. What do you think? Look like mom and her little? This image was colored with Copic markers. The snow at the bottom is a shimmery embossing powder. I 'drew' on the snowbank with an embossing marker, and heat embossed with the powder.

That's all I have for you today! Hope to see you enter the November challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back in a couple of weeks with some more fun creations!

Hugs and grins,
Patti J.

Warmest Holiday Wishes - POTW

Hi everyone!

It's my turn to share a Pick of the Week at The House that Stamps Built

My plate is full to overflowing this month, so my project is a quick and easy fold...hope you enjoy it!

The Repeat Impressions Stamps that I used for this card are:

This fold is so simple.

Start with a piece of cardstock that measures 5.5" x 8.25" and score at 1 1/8" and 5.25".

Cut a piece of patterned paper to 2.75" x 5.25"
Cut another piece of coordinating patterned paper to 1" x 5.25"
For the inside of card, cut a white panel measuring 2.75" x 5.25"

Adhere them into place as shown.  Stamp a sentiment on the top of the larger panel. Stamp another sentiment on the same color as your card base, and mat with one of your patterned papers. Adhere the far right edge of the sentiment strip to the bottom right, and use a velcro fastener on the left side. Voila! A pretty card with a fun fold!

Well, hope you'll give this a try!

Grab those RI stamps and give this a try!
For this week only (December 8 - December14th), get 20% off the stamps used in my creation above when you use the coupon code POTW11821.

Ornaments-2021

 Hello crafty friends!

I have some fun news to share today!  I'm guest designing for Jan's Digi Stamps for the months of November and December!  If you've never been to Jan's site, and looked at her images, you need to go! She offers both black and white, and colored images, and they are all so beautifully done!

Jan's offering a free digi set as a 'Thank You' gift for everyone! This set is called Christmas Baubles, and will be FREE to everyone at Jan's Digi Stamps, starting November 1st. The freebie will run until Christmas Day, and will then be retired.

Be sure to check out the monthly challenge at Jan's Digi's!

I've created a card, and a set of tags with this set, and I hope they inspire you to do some digital creating today!

First up, here is my card:

I used the beautiful 'Christmas Baubles' for the focal panel, and added 'Merry Christmas' from the Christmas Cardinals set. A piece of washi tape, and a gold metallic background finished this one off nicely!

Next, I downsized the image & sentiment quite a bit, and created some beautiful gift tags!

Here's a closer view:

Here are some things I created using last year's free images:

This one was pretty simple!  I brought the image and sentiment in, and trimmed them down to fit on the lower section of the card. A strip of patterned paper and some washi tape finished this one off nicely!

Next up:

For this card, I brought in the same ornament image as seen above, but greatly reduced the size, and used it 8 times to create a frame around this pretty sentiment from the Christmas Cardinals set. I absolutely love the beautiful script of this sentiment!

Well, thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back in a couple of weeks with some more fun creations!

Hugs and giggles,
Patti J.
