Hark...!

                                                                        Hi friends!

I was recently asked to do a program for a nearby church's Women's Group. When asked to do a program, (not a class), I try to think of a project that can all be set up in advance, and one that will teach a few basics to potential new paper crafters.

I decided on this card. This is a beautiful hybrid set from Stampin UP. There are stamps, dies, and an embossing folder in this set, 'Merriest Moments'. I knew this set lives at my besties house, so I called Shirley and said, "I'll do all of the cutting and prep work, if you'll loan me the set, and help me day of program". Whew....she said yes!

Inside of card:

This project allowed the ladies to:
~Stamp with Misti, Stamparatus, and Tonic stamp positioners
~Heat emboss (sentiment on front of card)
~2nd generation stamping (Poinsettia on envelope and card insert)
~Die Cut
~Dry Emboss
~Use liquid glue and tape runners
~Use dimensional foam for card front panel.

They all seemed pleased. Each step was pre-set on one of the stamp positioners. We had a cuttlebug set up for die cutting the beautiful background, and a Big Shot set up for embossing the die cut. Everything went very smoothly, and the ladies were happy...Win-Win!

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow with some more paper fun!

Hugs,
Patti J.

Forgotten Cards #1

 Hello Friends!

Well, this is a brand new chapter in my life. I have no DT cards to share for the first time in over 20 years. I'm about to head for California for a couple of weeks wearing my Grandma hat, so thought this would be a good time to post some of the cards that have been accumulating over the past year or two! Send up a few prayers for my hubby, as he will be home alone while I'm traveling!

Today, I'll share the most recent! These cards are from a workshop that me and my friend Shirley just held. I saw this fun Iguana card at my friend Vicky Parson's blog, and asked if I could CASE it for our workshop. She graciously approved, so I quickly ordered the set from Inky Stamper. I thought it would be so much fun to create with.

Here'e a little gift that all of the participants received...

And....here are the six cards that we created for the workshop -  the first three were my designs, the last three were Shirley's designs:

Isn't that crane card gorgeous???

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm off to Ca. tomorrow, but will post some things while I'm gone - no links, no info, just cards!  If you have questions, feel free to ask!

Hugs and lots of blessings,
Patti J.

October 25th Workshop

 Welcome, friends!

My friend Shirley and I had a workshop on Monday, October 25th. Here are the cards that we made:

What a fun card Shirley had!  I love this fold, and will use it often.

This one is hard to see. I just got a new light box for taking pics, and can't get it to photo nicely, as the strip in the middle is gold metallic.

Here's another beauty from Shirley - love, love love this!!!

When I saw this fun fireplace die set at My Favorite Things last month, I had to have it! Added some 'wallpaper', 'baseboard', a wreath & bow, 'gray floor', and some trees, to finish off this cute card.

Here's another card that uses some metallic papers. Wish you could see it in real life - SO gorgeous!

This is a Pinwheel Tower card. It was fun designing all four sets of 'pages'.

These last two cards were not part of our workshop, but since I had lots of scraps, I decided to make some Thankful cards for our family!

Hope you found something today that made you smile! Let us know if you have any questions - we will do our best to answer!

Hugs and smiles,
Patti and Shirley

Getting ready for a workshop...

Hi all!

Just a quick note to say hello - and have a good week!

My bestie, Shirley and I are holding a workshop on Friday, and these are a couple of the table favors that I've been working on during evening TV hours!

The digi images are all from Jan Mahew, and the bunny box dies are from Taylored Expressions. I built the box itself, and used the TE dies to bring it to life!

Hope you enjoy them!

I'm going to enter these in Jan Mahew's 'Anything Goes' challenge.

Hugs and smiles,
Patti J.

April Workshop

Howdy friends!

My bestie, Shirley, and I just finished our April 28th workshop. The way we work, we split the group in half. Half of the group will start with her, and the other half will start with me. When done, we swap groups, and go again.

I hate to admit that things were so busy that day, I didn't even see what she had her group create!  But....I thought I'd share what my projects were.

Most of these ladies are beginning stampers, so our projects have to be fairly easy to accomplish, and something they can have a good time creating.  It's always fun to bring back some older techniques, like...

Alcohol Inks

Shaving Cream Technique

A little sponging and learning to use Glossy Accents

And of course, our participants always get a freebie or three to say thanks for coming!
Here's what I made for them:

Ha ha...Ghirardelli! Because one cannot create without chocolate!

Side view - holds a snack size Kit Kat bar because one cannot create without chocolate!

This one holds a single nugget, because one cannot create without chocolate!

Hopefully Shirley will post her projects as well!!!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Take care!
Patti J.

Workshop Goodies...

Hello!

My workshop was today. Everyone seemed pleased with what we made.
They did like the flourish card that I posted for you to see the other day, so good call!

Those of you that have followed me for a while know that when I do a class, all of the participants get a little something that I've made them, just for being there. Here's what they received today...mmm...chocolate!

The image and sentiment are from TAC's new sets: Brighten Your Day & Wonder and Joy. Coloring was all done with Koh-I-Noor Pencils and LOMS.

Speaking of chocolate, DD and I went to a nearby town, Ste. Geneveieve, Mo., last weekend. This quaint little town has an annual 'Chocolate Walk'. You stop at the first store, buy a ticket for $5, and walk all over town. There are approx. 25 shops on the list. Each shop that you visit has chocolate in some form out on a beautiful tray for you to try - everything from truffles to brownies. Very bad timing, as I had just started Weight Watchers! I tried to be a little careful, and we walked for a LONG time, so perhaps I walked off a few of the calories! Anyway, here, for your enjoyment, is a photo of the chocolate covered strawberries that I picked up for DH while there.

Then I came home to beautiful roses that DH had snuck in while we were gone!
Loads of red ones, and one white for each of our wonderful kids - what a keeper my man is!
All righty, off to clean up my messy craft corner! I'll be checking up on your blogs tonight and tomorrow!

Workshop Goodies...

Here are some goodies that my friend Shirley and I did in the workshop we attended today at O'Dear's. Karin Braxton was our instructor, and she is always a lot of fun. Of course, we all HAD to shop at O'Dear's (gosh, don't you just hate it when that happens?), and then go to lunch together afterward!!!
Enjoy!

We had a great time! Aren't these folds and cuts just the cutest ever???
Have a good night - Patti J.
