Operation Write Home Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Skip!

Good morning!
Perfect Paper Crafting and Operation Write Home would like to welcome you to our blog skip!
If you missed the start of the hop, you can click on the photo below, and it will take you directly to the beginning!  We will be sending the cards featured in today's blog skip to the folks at Operation Write Home, to be forwarded on to our wonderful men and women serving our country.  If you would like to find out how to send your cards to Operation Write Home, check out their guidelines to get started!!!

Perfect Paper Crafting has been a lifesaver to me.  I love for my mats and layers to be straight and tidy, and have tried so many other methods.  With the Perfect Layers Rulers, there is no guesswork.  You can use any rotary cutter or craft knife with your Perfect Layers Rulers!  Check out their website for a video tutorial, and see the information on my sidebar to find out how to save 5% on any purchase!

There will be a $50 gift card issued by Perfect Paper Crafting, for one lucky person, who comments on all the blogs!  Will it be YOU???

I used two of the Operation Write Home sketches for my cards today.  You can find all of their past sketches here!  All of my mats are created using either the 1/8" or 1/4" rulers.  Look at how nice and straight they are!

All Stamps are Gina K. Designs 'Lighthearted Wishes'.  Patterned Paper is Bazzill 'Believe'. Red Cardstock is Bazzill Basics.

All stamps are Gina K. Designs 'The Northwoods'.  Patterned paper is Bo Bunny 'Rejoice'. Gold Cardstock is a muse studio.

Now, skip on over to see what MARIANNE has to share with you!!!

Thanks for skipping with us today!

Where?

Good morning, and Happy Happy WEEKEND!

I'm here to share a creation today using lots of brand new Scraptownlady supplies!  Oh my goodness, what fun it was to get my 'fall' box.  I had ordered this sweet summer image, and decided that I should hurry and use it before we get totally into fall and Christmas.  Isn't she precious?  She's a Marianne stamp, and she's one of the adorable Snoesjes girls!  You could color her so sweetly with your choice of mediums! Colored Pencils, Spectrum Noir, Copic, Tombow, or StampinUp Markers....whatever you have on hand!
You can find here HERE!

Here is the easel card all set up.  Isn't she adorable?

This is the inside of the card - all Bo Bunny Goodness :)

And, of course, she folds flat for mailing!

Hope that she brought you a smile today.  I just couldn't wait to get her inky!

Thanks for looking - hope you'll dash over to the Scraptownlady store and do a bit of shopping.  Cheryl offers an EVERYDAY 20% discount on EVERY order, and if that's not enough, she also charges ONLY the actual shipping costs on each order!  Pretty cool, right?  We'd love for you to follow our blog, too!

Have a great weekend,
Patti J.

Designer's Tip:  When creating a 6 x 6 card or layout, it's fun to make a 6 1/8" square box out of something sturdy, for mailing.  The recipient loves getting a 'present', your card is protected, and you get to show off your box making skills!  It's VERY easy!  Look for a photo tutorial with dimensions next week!

Scraptownlady Supplies:
Marianne Design 'Snoesjes' Clear Stamp
Kaisercraft Blue Haze Cardstock (Base)
Bo Bunny 'Prairie Chic Yard Sale' Collection (LOVE!!!!)
Snug Hug Seam Binding White
Prima Flowers 'Zephyr Collections Perles'
Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive
Summer Stick Pin - Lipstick Red

Other supplies:
Copic Markers

You're an Angel...

Hi there, all my crafty friends!

It's time for a new sketch challenge at the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built.
Wendy, the owner, is the genius behind our great sketches.  When I saw this one, I sent off an emergency order for this sweet angel and sentiment.  I think it works beautifully.

Repeat Impressions 'Moon Angel' #716, Repeat Impressions 'You're an Angel' #2522, BoBunny Snowfall Collection DP, Bazzill CS, Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Square Die, Copic Markers

The BoBunny Snowfall Collection DP was the perfect background, don't you think?

Head over to the RI blog, The House That Stamps Built, and see what my fellow Rockstars have created with this wonderful sketch.  When you are all full of inspiration, nab this sketch, and link up your creation - we'd love to see your take on the sketch too!

Repeat Impressions Sketch Challenge #O1712

Wow - can't believe it's already Wednesday!
Time for a new sketch challenge at Repeat Impressions!
Here is Wendy's wonderful sketch:

Here is my card:
Repeat Impressions #2708 Pine Branch, Repeat Impressions #403 Serenity, Bo Bunny Snowfall Collection DP, DCWV Holiday Collection DP, Memory Box & Die-Namics Dies, Frosted Lace Stickles,Copics Markers, Amuse Brown Cardstock

Since the stamp of the week this week was this Pine Branch, and as it was still on my stamping block (lol), I decided to use it once more.  This time, the sparkle is Frosted Lace Stickles. Hopefully, this looks more like a winter Pine Branch, and my Monday card looks like a fall Pine Branch!

Check out the beautiful creations that my fellow Rockstars have for you today:

Now, we would love to see YOUR take on the sketch!

Make My Friends Fat...

Good morning, and Happy Monday.  Did my title snagged your curiosity this morning?
Well, it's Monday, and you know what that means - it's time for a new Stamp of the Week at Repeat Impressions!

Repeat Impressions Queen: 7118W,  Sentiment: Please God: 8006W, Bo Bunny Snowfall Collection DP.

Today's SOTW is this elegant little Queen - isn't she too much fun?  The sentiment says 'Please God...If you can't make me thin, make my friends fat!'

Most of you that know me well, know that I'm doing the Take Shape for Life Program, and have been faithfully working at healthy eating now for 42 days, (15.4 lbs. gone as of last Tuesday)
so I thought this sentiment was so perfect!

The step card is a pre-cut, pre-scored card, and can also be purchased at Repeat Impressions.  How cool is that?

This week, as with each week, you can get the current SOTW for 50% off!  Check out the Repeat Impressions blog for all of the details!

Now, hurry over and check out what my fellow Rockstars have created with this fun stamp!

Cheri      Geri      Karen

Thanks so much for stopping by - have a great week!
(Tomorrow is 'weigh-in' day on Patti J.'s hillside....check back to see how it went!)

Hugs,
Patti J.

Winter Wishes

Happy Wednesday!

Ugh...what dreary, dark, and dismal weather we have had today!  Great day to be a recluse!  Hope you are all doing well today, and staying warm and dry.

Lesley at "Always Playing with Paper" posted her Merry Monday Challenge #4 the week, and I heard it calling to me this afternoon.  I'm always trying to figure out a way to get a jump on our Christmas cards, and this is a Christmas challenge blog, so hey...what have I got to lose?  Liked the sketch, need Christmas cards, and had this pretty image from Doodle Pantry all colored up, so to the paper bin went I...lol...

BoBunny DP, Snowfall Collection, Image and Sentiment from Doodle Pantry, Marvy Snow Pen, Copic Markers, scissors and scalloped scissors.

Short post, I know, but that's all I have for you today!

Thanks for stopping by!

I'll be round this evening to see what you've been up to!

Hugs and smiles,
Patti J.

A Child is Born...

Hooray for Friday!
Even an old retiree like me looks forward to the weekends!
lol...(get to see my handsome man a bit more :)

I have the sweetest card to share today.  I tried very hard to keep this one clean and simple, as I have OODLES of deadlines to meet between now and Monday...

Today's image is a C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie digi image from their October 2011 release.  It's called, "Baby Jesus & Angel" from All That Scraps.

Supplies: C.C. Designs Digi Image (All That Scraps), Kraft Cardstock, Bo Bunny Snowfall Collection DP, Stampin'Up Seam Binding (thanks Amanda!), Gold Stickles, Baker's Twine (Really Reasonable Ribbon), Copic Markers
 * * *

The minute I saw this sweet little angel, I knew I'd be buying her!  And how fitting it is that I'm posting this card today, as it is "set up the Nativity Scene on the fireplace mantel" day at our humble abode!  The Nativity is always the first Christmas decoration to go up, followed by the tree, and then 'everything else'.

I've entered very few challenges in the past few months, SO...
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Just For Fun: Winter

Scrapbook Sisters: Christmas
Craft Your Passion: Tis the Season
The Kraft Journal: Christmas Card
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: Anything Christmas
Scrappy Frogs Challenge: Use Kraft
Craft Your Days Away: Bows

I hope that you are enjoying your day, and that you have a wonderful weekend planned.  Tomorrow is the Christmas Open House at the Farmington Pet Adoption Center, so I have a few dozen cookies to bake today.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs and smiles galore,
Patti J.

A Day with Inspired Stamps

Good morning!
Hopefully, your Sunday is already blessing you in measures of oodles!

Today, I have some projects to share that feature Antoinette's beautiful creations from Inspired Stamps.  When Antoinette asked me to be a Guest Designer for the day, to help celebrate their 1st Birthday, I was thrilled!  I had purchased a set or two, and had won a set or two, and had fallen hopelessly in love with their sweet stamp line.  I'm thankful to have been asked!

This first card features the "Fall Gratitude" set.  Don't you just LOVE it when the DP does all the hard work?
Coloring was done with colored pencils and mineral spirits.

Supplies: Simple Stories "Generations" DP, Stampin'Up Ribbon, Amuse French Roast Ink, Bazzill CS.

Next up is a very simple note card, using the set "Vintage Christmas".
Supplies: Amuse Note Card, Amuse French Roast Ink, Ribbon from Hobby Lobby

Again, the DP has done the tough work here!  The stamps are from the "Choir Boy/Angel" set.
You have the choice of using the wings and halo, or leaving them off and using musical notes.

Supplies: My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found Christmas" DP, Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, Copic Markers, Sparkly Fluff (Our Craft Lounge), Memory Box Frosty Border Die (Joan's Gardens), Diamond Stickles, Nestabilities Dimensional Squares

This is another small note card, using stamps from the "Vintage Christmas" set.
I nearly stood on my head, but could not get rid of the shadows...sorry!

Supplies: Stampin' Up White Ink, Diamond Dust Glitter, May Arts Ribbon, Amuse Note Card

Having a son that is military, and has been twice deployed, and a future son-in-law who has been twice deployed (and is going again in 2012), this little guy captured my heart.  Our son's eyes are almost exactly this color of blue!  This is a center step card, and uses the "Military Solder" stamp.

Supplies: BoBunny Snowfall Collection DP, Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, Copic Markers, Nestabilities, Bazzill CS

 Last, is the "Nativity Set".
A while back, I had seen a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for a Pop-Up Stage Card, (by Kim Score) and decided that this sweet little Holy Family needed their own stage!

Here is the card closed with a belly band.
When the card opens, look what pops up!
Supplies: Bazzill CS, Recollections Snowflakes, Echo Park DP, EK Success Border Punch, Ribbon from Hobby Lobby, Copic Markers, Amuse Woodgrain DP, Sparkly Fluff (Our Craft Lounge), Killer White Tacky Tape (Creative Cuts & More).

I hope that Antoinette's stamps have brought you a smile, today!
Hop on over to Inspired Stamps, and help them celebrate their 1st Birthday!

Thanks for stopping by,

Hugs and Smiles!
