You're Bad...

Howdy ya'll !

I have a fun card today.
Someone we know is really going through some tough times.
When I saw this sentiment, I knew it was perfect for this person.
Here's my card:

Now, the sentiment came from Ginger, over at Ginger's House.  She posts a fun 'something' nearly every day.  I nab one now and then, and this one literally called out to me!  Be sure to stop over now and then to see what she's posted, and just to give her some hugs now and then!

A bit of patterned paper left from my Scraptownlady stash, a sentiment, and a bit of cardstock, and voila!
Easy peasy, and oh, so much fun!  I used an exacto knife, and trimmed the wings of the dragonfly
so that they would overlap the sentiment. Looks pretty realistic this way.

Have a great day!

A Sad Farewell....

Hello!  I hope this finds you enjoying your Saturday.
I'm here today with a sad farewell.  It is my last post as DT member for Scraptownlady. Cheryl has been a dream to work for, and has become a very good friend.  I wish her only the best!  I will also miss working with the ladies that have been my teamies.  What a talented group of people they are. We chat online, or on the phone like a bunch of sisters!  Anyway, for today's post, I'm showcasing some (probably too many) of my favorite Scraptownlady creations.

I hope you will continue to visit the Scraptownlady blog, to see what's new and exciting,
and that you'll keep checking out the Scraptownlady store - Cheryl uploads new items regularly.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Hugs,
Patti J.

Can We Talk?

Happy Saturday!  I'm here today with my post for the Scraptownlady Blog.  A couple of weeks ago, I posted a simple pop-up card, and offered up a tutorial.  Several of you indicated that you would like one, so here goes - warning, lots of photos!

I love this Glamour Girls Stamp Set, and decided to create with it today.  Since it is the Halloween season, purple, black, and green, seemed the perfect color choices!

Here is my finished card:
Isn't she just fabulous?  You can find here in the Scraptownlady Store - see link below!  The text on the purple panel reads HEY, girlfriend!  Sorry about the watermark - couldn't find a good place to put it!

On to the tutorial...

Step 1.  Create your card base.  I chose to use an A2 base, so my card base is 5.5" x 4.25".

Step 2. Finish card as desired.

Step 3.  Create inside piece for pop-up.  It needs to be a bit smaller in length and width than your card base.

Step 3. Here you can see the insert size - I just laid it on the card for the visual effect. Don't glue! You're not finished yet!

Step 4. On your folded edge, decide how deep you need your pop-up to be, and draw a 'cheat' line. Find the center of that line.  Then decide how wide you want your pop-up to be and mark those lines..  Mine is about 3/4" wide.

Step 5. Cut in to your first drawn line.  You'll have a little flappy looking piece like mine above.

Step 6.  Open your insert base.  Use your fingers and gently push inwards on the flap you created.  When you get it like you want it, gently fold your card, and press the flap flat.  It should look like this!

Step 7.  Use adhesive of choice.  Apply to your flap.

Step 8.  Apply your inside sentiment, image, die cut, etc.  Voila!
It seems confusing, but once you've made one, you can make them without 'cheat' lines, as you will better understand the concept.  You'll soon be moving on to different sized pop-ups in the same card!

Thanks for hanging in with me - this was a long post!  Hope you enjoyed it.  Let me know if there are other things you'd like to see tutorials on - I'm willing to give it a try!

Be sure to check out the Scraptownlady Store for all of your card and scrapbooking supplies!  Also, we hope you will follow the Scraptownlady Blog!  There is always something new and beautiful to see - the DT is amazing!

Let Me Tell You...

Happy Weekend!  Hope you are enjoying a relaxing Saturday.  It's my day to post for the Scraptownlady Blog, and I thought I'd create with some Carta Bella Papers.  Love, love, love them!

I distressed with some Wild Honey, attempting to bring the frame out a bit.  In real life, the color matches up with the tiny flowers on the background paper beautifully.  However, I could not get the camera to work very well today.  You'll just have to trust me on this one!

Several of you asked for a tutorial on the pop up cards.  I will have one ready in a day or two!  Be sure to check out all of the fun new items at the Scraptownlady store!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Hugs...

Where?

Good morning, and Happy Happy WEEKEND!

I'm here to share a creation today using lots of brand new Scraptownlady supplies!  Oh my goodness, what fun it was to get my 'fall' box.  I had ordered this sweet summer image, and decided that I should hurry and use it before we get totally into fall and Christmas.  Isn't she precious?  She's a Marianne stamp, and she's one of the adorable Snoesjes girls!  You could color her so sweetly with your choice of mediums! Colored Pencils, Spectrum Noir, Copic, Tombow, or StampinUp Markers....whatever you have on hand!
You can find here HERE!

Here is the easel card all set up.  Isn't she adorable?

This is the inside of the card - all Bo Bunny Goodness :)

And, of course, she folds flat for mailing!

Hope that she brought you a smile today.  I just couldn't wait to get her inky!

Thanks for looking - hope you'll dash over to the Scraptownlady store and do a bit of shopping.  Cheryl offers an EVERYDAY 20% discount on EVERY order, and if that's not enough, she also charges ONLY the actual shipping costs on each order!  Pretty cool, right?  We'd love for you to follow our blog, too!

Have a great weekend,
Patti J.

Designer's Tip:  When creating a 6 x 6 card or layout, it's fun to make a 6 1/8" square box out of something sturdy, for mailing.  The recipient loves getting a 'present', your card is protected, and you get to show off your box making skills!  It's VERY easy!  Look for a photo tutorial with dimensions next week!

Kaisercraft Blue Haze Cardstock (Base)
Bo Bunny 'Prairie Chic Yard Sale' Collection (LOVE!!!!)
Snug Hug Seam Binding White

A Ladies Diary

Hello, and Happy Weekend!

It's my day to post for Scraptownlady, and I've chosen to use some of the beautiful collection from Graphic 45, "A Ladies Diary".  This card was SO easy - just some cutting, matting, fussy cutting, and voila!

This is the card front. Even the lace trim is G45 Patterned Paper!

This is the inside - I used another G45  Patterned Paper that is Kraft on the back side for my focal panel. The large rose was fussy cut from a sheet of the "A Ladies Diary" Collection, and glued down.

Be sure to check out the fabulous inventory of pretty papers, stamps, embellishments, adhesives, etc., at the Scraptownlady Store, and we'd love for you to follow the Scraptownlady Blog!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Life is Wonderful

Good morning, and Happy Friday!  It's my day to post for the Scraptownlady Blog, so without further ado, here is my creation for today.

I guess with our upcoming first grandchild, I have babies on my mind.  This sweet 'Pearl' seems to be a great mommy, don't you think?

The image panel and die cut are actually white cardstock that has been distressed with a sponge dauber, and some brushed courduroy ink.  The pennants and butterflies were fussy cut from patterned papers - I love Scraptownlady's assortment of papers!  For a full list of supplies, see below!

I have an itty bitty blog candy for you today!  Up for grabs is a sweet pair of bird dies from the Scraptownlady store!  These are Impression Obsession Dies, and cut like butter...for real!  All you have to do to win these dies is become a follower of the Scraptownlady Blog!  That's it!  One lucky follower will win! I will announce the winner next week on my Scraptownlady post!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs & Smiles,
Patti J.

Zombie Apocolypse

Happy Weekend!
I was lucky enough to be invited to my friend, Shirley's fabulous craft room on Thursday. Seriously, peeps, her room is THE BEST!  Maybe if you all run over an ask her, she'll post photos someday!
Anyhoooooo.....Shirley is an Amuse demonstrator (hint, hint!), and...
We made these, using Amuse products, of course!
The little ghosties were a CASE of this card by our amazing stamping friend, Chelsea (who is also an Amuse demonstrator).
Sorry, these are new Amuse stamps and dies, so I don't know names!  The fence is an Impression-Obsession die, and I got it over at Scraptownlady.

The butterfly card, was just the sponge and spritz technique.  We thought this stamp set would work well with that technique.  I am not so good at getting the 'spritzes' to show!  You may need a magnifying glass to find them!

This Amuse set is called 'Sunny Side of Life'.  The really sweet thing, is that the focal stamp is so long, that you only have to ink and stamp once, and it covers a full A2 card front.  Cool beans, right???

So.........someone I know is a Zombie addict, sort of.
When I saw this digi sentiment over at Ginger's House, I knew it would be perfect for a card for him!
What do you think?  Silly.  Makes no sense at all.  But, what fun!
You know, like seeing 'that' jewelry, and saying 'with just the right dress....'  lol!
Just did some sponging here, stamped some 'grass' from a Gina K. Designs set, then some birds from a Flourishes set. The black bird in front of the moon is an Amuse die.  Let me know if you need more info!

I used my 1/4" Perfect Layers ruler to get the fabulous border around the sentiment! You can use any craft knife, or rotary cutter, with the Perfect Layers Rulers.  Check out my sidebar for details, and be sure to check out their website for informational videos!

If you've never dropped in at Ginger's House, you should!
She posts daily freebies, and she's like our preacher....sometimes, you know that what was posted or preached was written just for you, or your situation.

All righty, today is a busy day, and tomorrow's church,
so I'll probably be back here on Monday!

Off to see what you've been up to...

Hugs...
Patti J.

P.S. I know I have a few new followers.  Thank you!  If you are one of them, and I have not been by to reciprocate, please let me know!  Especially, with Bloglovin', as I know I have followers, but have no idea who they are!
