Blog Hopping with Tiddly Inks!

Hi there!

Glad to see you here today!

I'm so excited to be taking part in a fun Spring Blog Hop with Tiddly Inks!  Christy has the sweetest images, and I couldn't wait to get my markers out and start coloring.

The image I'm using is 'Fairy Sunny Day'.  I had fun with this card. As most of my cards go to friends, folks at church, or Chemo Buddies, I just added a simple die cut sentiment.

Here's my card:

This is a digital image. To make my card, I printed the image, colored it, and then trimmed the panel to desired size.  On the bottom, I did a bit of fussy cutting, letting part of the flower hang off the page. So...this is a one layer focal panel!

This view shows all of the fun shine - whatever did we do before Glossy Accents?

The hop starts today, at 6 p.m. CST!

Head over to the Tiddly Inks blog, and just follow the entries in the Inlinkz list!
You could win a $5 gift voucher to the Tiddly Inks store just for commenting!

The hop ends April 29, and there is a party planned on the Facebook page from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. on April 29th - more details on the Tiddly Inks blog!

Have fun hopping, and good luck...

Thanks for stopping by!

Sympathy...

Hello out there!

I'm finally catching up, so thought I'd begin sharing a few things that I've created since I got home.  I had an order for some simple, one layer sympathy cards, so I'll be sharing some of them with you in the next week or so.

This first one simply uses some beautiful Heartfelt Creations Paper, a Stampin'Up! sentiment, and some Glossy Accents.  Hope she likes it.

I'm going to enter this in the Sweet Stampin' Challenge, 'Sympathy or Thinking of You' Cards.
I'm also going to enter this in the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge, 'With Sympathy' (if I can get logged in. I've been away for a while, and it's not recognizing me!)

Hope your week is going well.

My handsome man is having cataract surgery on left eye tomorrow, with some repair work to be done on an optical membrane???  Send up a few well wishes if you have the time!
We'd appreciate all the help we can get!

Hugs and blessings,

Patti J.

Then and now...what a difference a few years make!

Good morning!

I'm still MIA, but wanted to drop in and say hi.

Today is a very special day.
45 years ago today, at 4:00 p.m. Central Time, I married my best friend, the love of my life,
and my partner in business, parenting, and everything in between.

Together, hand in hand, we have been through births, deaths, illness, good times,
and not-so-good times.  In 1980, when dear hubby sustained 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns
over more than 3/4 of his body, I thought I'd lose him, and I was terrified.  Thanks to God,
a very strong and stubborn husband, successful skin grafts, and a wonderful burn unit, we were blessed to weather that storm together.

We've watched our babies grow up into successful adults, and are proud of the goodness
and love of family in each of them. They have both married wonderful spouses, and have blessed us with 4 beautiful grandchildren. It's fun to watch their love grow with each passing year.

Life is so good!

I thought I'd share with you our 'then and now' photos, so you can see what a difference
45 years makes!

Stan, if you happen to read this blog post, I hope that you know how much you mean to me.
Each year, our love grows, changes, and each year just gets better and better.  Let's see what the next 45 years bring!  Happy Anniversary - I love you!

Thanks, everyone, for putting up with this sappy post! Sometimes, you just gotta go with what your heart tells you, right???  I have to laugh - we had the latest photo taken for our church directory. I forgot to wear earrings AND neglected to put on any make-up.  Old age is my excuse for said forgetfulness!

Happy Saturday to all,
Patti J.

'Happy Birthday to Me' means Blog Candy to you!

Hello Friends!

Today is my birthday.
I'm not going to tell you my age, but I may or may not have been born in 1954.

As you all know, I am in DC, proudly and happily wearing my grandma hat this week,
but since it's my birthday, and since you've been so patient with me while I remodeled and, sewed, and traveled, I wanted to give some birthday gifts to some you...

Since this is our 4th grandchild, I'm going to have a random drawing for 4
'Itty Bitty Blog Candy' prizes!

To enter, just leave me a Happy Birthday comment below, and tell me a fun fact about you that I don't know!

I'll go first...

When I was a freshman in high school, I lived in Dolton, Il.  I was in a 'Miss Dolton'
contest, which was largely judged on our float.  Imagine my surprise (actually,
think about me hitting myself on the forehead, like the V8 commercial) when I lost
the contest due to a spelling error on our float!  Our Volunteer Fire Department float builder helpers had used Congradulations, instead of Congratulations 😲

So, I'm almost famous like Hillary! I got the most votes, but lost the 'Election' when the judges caught our spelling error! Wish we had a photo of the whole sign!

Oh, dear....look at that funky hair! Remember when the low part was the 'in' thing?
Probably not - I'm most likely the only antique in blogland :)

That's me on the right.

Now you know!

Hee hee...your turn.

Have a wonderful day - I cannot WAIT to read your comments!!!

All four winners will be announced on Thursday, April 12th.
Each of you will receive a padded envelope with something fun inside!

Thanks for coming to see me today!

Hugs,
Patti J.

More than one fold AND a surprise element!

Hello out there!

It's April Fool's Day, so for today's challenge at the Scor-Pal blog, we are adding
a surprise element to our creations.

I'll be sharing a box that I created. My inspiration came while perusing Pinterest.
You can find the instructions HERE.

WARNING: Photo heavy!

For this project, I used my Scor-Pal Eighths, a pair of scissors, 1/2" Scor-Tape, and 1/8" Scor-Tape.

Here is the box closed, shown from the top.

Here's the box closed, shown from the side. Each side panel has a cute panel.

I'm lifting the lid off here....get ready for the surprise element!

Drum roll, please.....I'm about to let the box 'explode'!
Note the teensy drawer 'knobs'.
There's also room in the center for nail polish, candy, a votive candle, etc.

Here is the box opened up.

Last, but not least, this shows the four drawers open and ready for treats!
I'm imagining hair bows, or fruit chews, or jewelry, or card games...
or papercrafty things!!!

The possibilities are endless!

Thanks for dropping by today.
Hope you enjoyed my little project!

This is not a difficult project at all, but it did take me about two hours to complete.

We hope that you will enter our challenge this month!
You need to include more than one fold, and a surprise element.
Can't wait to see your project!

We also have a ton of inspiration on our Projects on the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to help you get creative!
