Technique Junkies "Drip Technique" Challenge

Howdy, ya'll!

Thought I'd pop in today on the last day of the monthly challenge

at the Technique Junkies Blog.

The challenge this month is to use the 'Drip Technique' on your project.

Here's what I made:

I hope this is okay - since I don't own any reinkers, this one stumped me...

A LOT!

But that's what makes a challenge fun, right?

I ended up using a water brush and my Spectrum Noir Glitter Pens.

The Cutting Cafe Bingo Challenge...

Gerda Steiner Monthly Progressive Challenge

Hello out there!

I had a few minutes to play today, and decided to use the image that

Gerda Steiner provides for the monthly 'Progressive' challenge.  The way this works, is

that I purchased last month's image HERE.  Once I enter a challenge at GSD using the

monthly image, I will get the next Image of the Month free to play along.

The way I understand it, as long as I continue to enter the challenges using

the monthly image, I will continue getting their free digi images!

Pretty cool, right?

So....here is what I made using the Image of the Month:

The Joy Fold is one of my all time favorites!

I'll post dimensions below.

This is going to a wonderful couple at church, as a thank you to an event that we

were invited to last week.  Hope they like it!

All coloring is done with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

Mid Month Scor-Pall Challenge Reminder and Tutorial

Hi there!

I'm back today with a reminder that we are halfway through the month of June. You still have time to join in the challenge on the Scor-Pal blog - just use some ribbon, lace, or trim, and 'More than one fold'!

I originally made this card for the monthly challenge using scraps on hand:

I'm back here today to show you how easy a gatefold card can be when you use your Scor-Pal!

You will start with an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock.

Place the long side at the top of your Scor-Pal, and score at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".

Below, you can see the markings for a gatefold card, on the older Scor-Pal, the

 Scor-Buddy, and the new Scor-Pal with 1/8" grooves.

Burnish score lines with Scoring Tool.  Cut a piece of white cardstock 4" x 5 1/4", and adhere to the inside center panel of your card, using Scor-Tape. Set aside.

Die cut or punch 2 sizes of your shape choice in coordinating colors. For this card, I used circles.

Apply Scor-Tape to two 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" panels of patterned paper, and adhere to card front.

Add a little Scor-Tape to the larger circle to hold your ribbon in place.

Punch a hole, or slot in white panel for ribbon to slide through, and add Scor-Tape to the smaller circle.

Slip the ribbon through the slot, and adhere small circle to large circle.

Add Scor-Tape to just the left half or the large circle.

Adhere large circle to left side of card front.

Stamp sentiment on small oval, adhere to large oval, and adhere to card front.

Embellish as desired!

This card used more of the beautiful 12 x 12 cardstock and papers that DCWV had generously sent to Scor-Pal Owner, Diana Crick for us to design with. Isn't it pretty?

I'm having so much fun with these products! With all of the fun and amazing products

that have come and gone during the many years I've been paper crafting, my Scor-Pal products

are something I reach for with nearly every project.  I'm so excited to have the new Scor-Pal Eighths board with the scoring grooves at every eighth inch.  It makes everything so easy!

June Tic Tac Toe at The House that Stamps Built

Good morning!

I'm back with a new Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for Repeat Impressions.

come 10 to a package, and you can find them HERE.  I chose CAS, and what is cleaner and simpler than having someone else cut and score your cardstock?

Washi Tape Challenge

It’s challenge day at The House that Stamps Built, and we have a great Designer’s Choice Challenge for you. RI Rock Star, Donna, is hosting and has a wonderful theme for us. Please join in our challenge, and create something using the theme:

"Washi Tape". Donna has challenged us to create something that includes Washi Tape.

Project of the Week - Stamp-a-Box Tutorial

Good morning!

I'm the Monday morning hostess at The House that Stamps Built. It's my turn to share a 'Project of the Week' with all of you.  

Today, I will show you how to use the Repeat Impressions 'Stamp-a-Box'.

This is such a fun little box - it only measures about an inch wide, tall, and deep when finished - just perfectly sized for a Hershey's kiss!

For today's tutorial, I'm using this Repeat Impressions stamp:

3502 - Rose Stamp-a-Box

Let's get started!

You will need your box stamp, some scissors, ink, and either markers or patterned papers.

You will need to stamp your image. I used a very faint ink color, as I didn't want the

dotted lines to show through.

Here's what the pattern looks like when stamped in black ink.

I took some Spectrum Noir markers, and just colored the whole thing.

I decided I didn't like the roses that way, so I stamped just the upper portion of the image

again, on a designer paper.

Just the flowers were fussy cut, and glued onto the sloppily colored roses.

Here is what the box looks like now!

I put the box on my Scor-Pal, and scored on all of the fold lines,

then added Scor-Tape to the end flap, and one of the bottom flaps.

As you can see, there are cut lines on the roses. Cut those now, as well.

Adhere the small end flap to the other side of the box. It will then look like this.

Fold in two of the bottom flaps...then fold in the flap with the scor-tape on it.

Fold the last flap in, creating your box bottom.

Now for the fun part! It's all beginning to come together!

Add a 'kiss', or whatever you'd like.

Fold in the two top flaps, and then 'intersect' the two cut lines on your roses.

Voila!  Is this not the cutest little tiny box ever?
