Wicked Halloween

 Hi there!

I'm up on the Technique Junkies Design blog today, and I'd like to share a fun (easy!) card with you. This was made using a fun Halloween sentiment from the September release, 'Wicked Halloween'.

I don't know about you, but I love a card that comes together in mere minutes, but looks like it took all day - this was one of those kinds of cards!  I looked at this sentiment, and wasn't quite sure how to make it work. I glanced over at my box of TJ stamps, and there was the burst Background stamp. Aha, I said to myself!

I stamped the Burst Background onto a white panel, using black Versamark ink. On a white scrap, I stamped Wicked Halloween, also using black Versamark for a good crisp look. Using some Halloween colors and my Ink Blending Brushes, I blended over the background. I stenciled over the top of the sentiment, and used the same colors and Ink Blending Brushes, I blended over the sentiment panel. Matted and popped up the sentiment, matted the focal panel and adhered to card base - done!

This September release has been pretty awesome! Can't wait to share October with you!

Don't forget!!! You can always save 10% on any order by entering TJ10Patti at checkout.

Now, be sure to head over to the Technique Junkies store and check out the incredible new stamps this month!

Pandemic Card - My Pick of the Week!

 Hi everyone!

It's my turn to share a Pick of the Week at The House that Stamps BuiltThe Repeat Impressions Stamps that I picked to showcase are:

Here's what I made!  With all of us wearing our masks, it seemed like a good time to make a Pandemic card. We miss our kids and grandkids so bad - haven't seen them since January and February. When we get together, we will hug for a week!

Let's get started!

You'll need a scrap of designer paper.I cut this one to 3 5/8" x 4 1/4". With the short side at the top of your scoring board, score at 1", 1/25", 1/75", 2", 2.5", and 2.75" as shown below.

Next, flip your panel over, and add some adhesive of choice. I used Scor-Tape. The adhesive will go in the spaces between your scoring lines that measure 1/4". There should be 3 of them.

Next, flip your paper back over, and fold each edge up, being sure that the adhesive grabs. Use your bone folder to press a good, firm line. Do this for all three fold lines.

Here is what it should look like on the back. Add a couple of scraps of twine. Mine are 3.5" long. Tape them down to hold them temporarily.

Add some score tape to each side edge, and some dimensional foam on the middle and adhere to your card base!

To make my card base, I stamped the Tumbling Hearts in light pink ink on the upper portion of the card front. The sentiment was stamped in black, then moved ever so slightly to stamp again in the pale pink, giving a shadow effect.

Hope you like this - Have fun making your own supply of paper masks!

Leaf Group

 Hello everyone!

It's Fri-yay - thanks for stopping by!

I have a pretty, fall Technique Junkies card to share with you today using a wonderful September release stamp, 'Leaf Group'.

First, I created a grungy looking background with distress inks, copic markers, and water. I cut this panel down into the triangle shape, and stamped the 'Leaf Group' over it randomly, using some brown ink. While the stamp was inked up, I stamped two images on white cardstock. The acorns and flowers on the triangle panel were colored and the panel was adhered to a Kraft base.  Next, I stamped the sentiment 'Simple Sentiments Set 2, Style b' on the top edge of the card base. The two stamped leaves were colored in fall colors, and fussy cut. One was glued directly to the card base, the other was popped up.

Be sure to check out the Technique Junkies store to see all of the latest releases, and if you shop, please use my discount code to get 10% off of any purchase any time! And this is in addition to the 15% off!

I Shredded the Toilet Paper...

 Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog! and I'm here to share two cute cards that I've made using some great September release stamps!

This is the best set ever!  Kitty Mug Shot is a set of EIGHT stamps! You get the kitty holding the sign, and SEVEN fun sentiments! You know you need  gotta have  want this one!

I used an older background stamp 'Brickwork' for the panel. One of the fun sentiments was stamped at the bottom edge. Next, I stamped the kitty, colored with alcohol markers, and slit the bottom edge of the sign with an Xacto knife.  A scrap of toilet paper was happy to be shredded and placed behind this strip (as well as a couple of strips behind the black mat). This was adhered to the Brickwork panel. Everything was layered onto the card base....fun!!!

This card began by stenciling the white card base. I used a citrus green ink, and 'A Colorful Life Crocodile' (no longer in store). Then I rubbed a bit of gray all over to 'grunge' it up.  The focal panel was the Brickworks stamp, stamped in gray, with a few glittery bats for texture. A new September stamp, 'Witch Switch' was stamped onto the brick panel, then again onto green and purple designer papers. The legs and boots were fussy cut, and paper pieced onto the stamped image. I grunged up a scrap of cheesecloth, added it to the back, and adhered the panel with pop dots. Love the way this one turned out!

Hope these have inspired you to get inky!

This September release has been amazing! Wait until you see October's!!!

This were so easy to create, and perfect for the turmoil in our world today! Hope you will take a look at this wonderful sentiment set!

Thinking of You - Inspiration Palette Challenge at The House that Stamps Built

 Happy Wednesday!

It’s challenge day at the Repeat Impressions blog, The House that Stamps Built, and we have a new Inspiration Palette Challenge for you. Here is the beautiful Inspiration Palette that Wendy provided to inspire us this week:

Here's what I made using this Repeat Impressions Stamp:

Isn't it fun when you just happen to have the perfect scrap of designer paper on you desk when you need to make something pretty?  That's what happened here. I glanced at the Inspiration Photo, then and the scrap of cardstock, and thought...winner!  I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of the same cardstock as the card base, took a fine tip marker, and added some stitching and dots. Voila!
Oh...and I fussy cut one of the flowers from the paper, and adhered it over top of the sentiment. Both the flower and the sentiment panel are adhered with pop dots for dimension.

Hope you like it!

Now it’s your turn!

A Heart Without Dreams

 Hello out there!

It's Fri-yay once again...thanks for stopping by!

I have a very easy, Technique Junkies card to share with you today using a wonderful September release stamp, Heart Without Dreams.

To begin, I masked off the upper and lower section of the focal panel. Using the Ink Blending Brushes, I blended some pale purple ink in the open section.  The next step was to stamp the image. I used Versamark Black to get a good crisp image.  The last step to complete the focal panel, was to use the same pale purple ink, and stencil on the hearts with the 'A Colorful Life Heart Fade Stencil'.

Be sure to check out the Technique Junkies store to see all of the latest releases, and if you shop, please use my discount code to get 10% off of any purchase any time!

Let Us Give Thanks

Hi everyone - Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a new Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for Repeat Impressions.
Here is the inspiration board that Wendy gave us to work with:

My choice was Twine, Slimline Card, and Use Dimension.

Today, I used these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

Here's my creation:

This was pretty easy! My focal panel is popped up over top of card base and plaid strip for dimension. You can see the twine and slimline format!  The stamps were all stamped with an Autumn Kaleidapad. I still use these old pads a lot!

Now it’s your turn! Create something using the Tic-Tac-Toe board above, and link it up at The House that Stamps Built. Remember, your creation does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include our designs we would love to see them! Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using our stamps in your submissions!
