Christmas Shadow Box Swap

Hello friends!

I've been away for a good while, and thought I should pop in with a bit of winter cheer!

There are 9 of us creative folks that decided to get a shadow box swap together. Our good friend, Sally McDonald has led us all in this fun endeavor!

Here is our Christmas swap:

I must apologize for the awful photo. With the glass, I almost have to stand on my head to avoid a glare. I probably should have removed the glass for the photo...duh!

Anyway, from left to right:

middle row: Patti Gilliam, Beth Norman-Roberts, Donna Thielker

We are having a great time with this swap - next up are 'Winter' squares, which we are almost finished with!

Hope that you all had a very merry Christmas!
We were 'home alone', and actually managed to stay out of trouble!

Blessings to all for a healthy, and happy 2023!

Catching Up...

Hi there!

Well, I have a lot more catching up to do! Seems I am making very little these days, until I go to post what I've made! Then I realize I've created more than I thought!

Here are a few little treat boxes I made for a stamping day at Ruth's house:

I made a whole family of reindeer boxes, using the Stampin' Up Design a Treat bundle from this years mini catalog. Aren't they adorable?

Since Ruth was hosting, she needed double trouble, so I found this cute tutorial HERE, and made her a box for TWO reindeer treat boxes!

And last, but not lease, here is what is inside!

Thanks for dropping by today!

Will try to be a bit more prompt in my posting of creations, I promise!!!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Cards by Cheryl

Good morning, friends!
Today, I'm featuring some pretty cards that I made in a class a week or so ago. The class was taught by my good friend, Cheryl Gammon. It was her very first time to teach, so Sally, Shirley, and I signed up, and we had a great time. Cheryl was an amazing, CALM teacher, and we all loved our cards!  Great job, Cheryl!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ruth's Cards, post 2

Here's one more of Ruth's card ideas.  I think it's called a split page technique? You stamp across an 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock, in the middle, then turn the cardstock and stamp again in the middle. When finished stamping, you cut the sheet to panels that are 4.25 x 5.5, or smaller if you wish to mat them.

Enjoy, I think these turned out beautifully!

The leaves are from a Stampin' Up set - Soft Seedlings, I think is the name (I borrowed this set from Shirley, so not sure). The sentiments are from an uber-awesome set that I got from the Ink Blot Shop. It's called Greetings to You, and I am in love with this set!

Hope you like them!

Thanks for stopping by,

Ruth's Cards

Hi all!

I'm back with a few more accumulated non-posted cards. These were all cards that I created from kits made by my friend, Ruth Petsel. So glad this craft has brought us together. She's a wonderful crafter, but an even more awesome person. Thanks, Ruth!

One of these two gardening cards was in Ruth's kit. The other I came home and cased, since these stamps and dies are some that live in my CRoffice!

Hope you're having a delightful day! Will be back in a day or so with more never before seen cards!

Hugs and blessings,

Patti J.

Back again!

Hello again, fellow crafters!
I'm back with a few more of the last week creations that I finished but didn't remember to post!

A friend from church asked for 6 'cute' anniversary cards. She didn't want nasty, snarky, or profane, just cute.

Here's what I came up with:

This one uses Stampin Up's Counting Sheep.
The sentiment on card and inside were computer generated.

Inside of card:

This card uses the old owl punch from Stampin' Up and a heart punch from Martha Stewart. The fence die is from Our Daily Bread Designs, and the envelope art is from a set I bought at Dollar Tree!

Sentiment is computer generated - pears are free clip art from the web, and the hearts on card and envelope are from the Dollar Tree set used in the owl card.

The beautiful adult beverages are from Stampin Up's 'Nothing's Better Than' set. The birds and waves are from Stampin Up's 'High Tide' set.

This one just used some pretty cardstock from my stash, and a piece of glittery paper from Hobby Lobby that I've had for a few years. The die cut frame is My Favorite Things, and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up, but I don't remember what set! I think it's an older Christmas set, but I'm old and forgetful, so who knows???

Last is this one using stamps from Ink Blot Shop and Our Daily Bread Designs. I did actually post this one last week!

Thanks for putting up with my hit or miss posts! I really am trying!

Next on my agenda is to purge! I have WAY too much stuff!

Thanks for popping in!

Hugs and blessings galore,
Patti J.

Behind once again!

Hi friends!

So, here I am, behind in posting again! How can I get so busy that I forget to post what I've been creating? Does that happen to any of you, or am I just an utter fail? Lol...

Anyway - here are some things I've been doing in the past couple of weeks:

This is a pretty card that we made at Card and a Cuppa with our good friend, Sally. She's a Stampin' Up demonstrator, and several of us meet with her at Panera's twice a month, hang out, have yummies, and make a card. I love this one! You all know me and plaid, right? Thanks, Sally!

My bestie, Shirley, found this die, and grabbed one for each of us. It makes some beautiful backgrounds! Easy mass produced cards! Thanks, Shirley!

So, a while back I purched some UBER-fun dies and stamps from My Favorite Things. I joined a 'verseless' swap, and thought these dies would make fun cards! So I made one to keep and send, and six to swap. Gotta love dies that create such beautiful scenes!

Last for today, I needed a fun quick gift box to send to a lady in Michigan. I am a 'Senior Angel', and the lady is my senior. I write to her every week, and try once a month or more, to send a small gift. I created this matchbox type box with ready made boxes from Stampin' Up that I got last year. The rest was easy! The ghosts and white boo shadow, from Memory Box, were cut from some glitter paper that I find at Wal-Mart. It cuts beautifully! I just cut a black panel, die cut all the goodies, and attached them. Filled the box with Hershey and Twix mini candy bars. Thanks, Pam, for the adorable Boo sentiment!

What fun it is to have made such good friends doing what I love to do! Thanks to all of you!!!

Hugs and grins,
Patti J.

Back soon with another LATE post! lol...

New stamps!!!

Hi all!
SO......I found a 'new to me' place to shop!  I happened to see a friend's post, where she used this uber-fun Scribble Rectangles stamp from The Ink Blot Shop, and had to have them!!!

Here's what I made using the smallest of the 2 scribbles in the Scribble Rectangles set:

And here are the other sets I purchased. I absolutely LOVE the larger 'sentence strips' in this Simple Sayings set. This set has 33 stamps! These sentiments will heat emboss SO nicely, and the Greetings to You set with the large YOU just rocked my world. Cannot wait to get that set inky!!!

Ya'll just gotta go check out the cute stuff in this shop!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hugs and smiles,

Hark...!

                                                                        Hi friends!

I was recently asked to do a program for a nearby church's Women's Group. When asked to do a program, (not a class), I try to think of a project that can all be set up in advance, and one that will teach a few basics to potential new paper crafters.

I decided on this card. This is a beautiful hybrid set from Stampin UP. There are stamps, dies, and an embossing folder in this set, 'Merriest Moments'. I knew this set lives at my besties house, so I called Shirley and said, "I'll do all of the cutting and prep work, if you'll loan me the set, and help me day of program". Whew....she said yes!

Inside of card:

This project allowed the ladies to:
~Stamp with Misti, Stamparatus, and Tonic stamp positioners
~Heat emboss (sentiment on front of card)
~2nd generation stamping (Poinsettia on envelope and card insert)
~Die Cut
~Dry Emboss
~Use liquid glue and tape runners
~Use dimensional foam for card front panel.

They all seemed pleased. Each step was pre-set on one of the stamp positioners. We had a cuttlebug set up for die cutting the beautiful background, and a Big Shot set up for embossing the die cut. Everything went very smoothly, and the ladies were happy...Win-Win!

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow with some more paper fun!

Hugs,
Patti J.

Fun in my girl-cave (CR-office)

Hello out there!

I'm sure you've been wondering where in the world I've been!

Well, September was a fun and busy month. We met both of our grown kids, and our 4 beautiful, wonderful grandkids at the YMCA of the Rockies, in Estes Park, CO, for several days of family activities.

We created beautiful art projects together, made balloon rockets, learned about bears, had campfires (with s'mores!), hayrides, rode horses, hiked a bit, shot with a bow and arrow (my first time!), had way too much food, and simply visited. We were ALL together for the first time in over 2 years.

It was amazing. Our cell phones didn't work, so we were truly off the grid as a family.

Here we are together in nature:

And here are our silly, beloved 'grands':

I will be back tomorrow with some crafty items since we returned!

Have a blessed day - thanks for stopping by!

Some stash cards to share...

 Hello all...!

Gosh, it's busy in our household! Not much time to create, so...here are a few more never before seen cards to share!  Please bear with me for another few weeks. We have a family event in the works, and my excitement has been focused on that! I'll share more about that next month.

If you have any questions, give me a shout in the comments and I'll try to answer quickly!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.
