Happy Birthday!

Good morning!

It's Friday, so I have a fun card that I created using Crafter's Companion products.
I needed a cute birthday card and thought about this sweet Crafter's Companion stamp set.

So, here is what our friend will find in the mailbox:

I really had fun with this card.  I'm loving this Sara Davies paper pad!

I stamped the image on my white panel, and began coloring.  After I colored the image,
I shaded with a couple of colors, giving the effect of both dimension and movement. (The panel is one single layer).  I made a cloud template, and 'colored' the cloud shapes with my blender pen, resulting in soft, realistic looking clouds. I added some 'pathway' around the patch of green, and finished
the card off with some Glossy Accents and Twine.  Hope you like it!

Here are the Crafter's Companion supplies that I used:

Angelica & Adam EZ Mount Stamp Set-Connor
Sara Signature Collection Floral Delight 6" x 6" Paper Pad
Ultra Smooth Premium White Card Stock 8.5" x 11" Unscored
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers/Pens:
DG2, DG3, DG4, PP1, FS2, BG4, IG1, IG4, IG6, CR8, EB1, EB2, TB2, TN7, Blender

Hope you had a great week, and will get to relax a bit this weekend!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Patti J.

Here is the fun sketch that we were given to create with:

I didn't even flip this one, but I thought a lot about it!!!
Here's what I created, using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

Isn't this fun? I love these silly face stamps, and thought this sketch would
showcase the Sunday Morning face perfectly!

And...remember when we all had those Rain Dots?  Found some in my stash,
and couldn't resist using them.

Now, it's your turn!

Foiling...

Hello, my creative friends!

It's Monday...

And it's my turn to be the Project of the Week Hostess at the Repeat Impressions' blog,

I decided to try my hand at foiling.  That's foiling with an 'O', not failing with an 'A', although, I must admit to many FAILED, foiled cards!  lol...  Practice makes perfect, so with enough
practice, I might get it right :)

I used these Repeat Impressions stamps for my projects:

10301 H Patti's Flower Solid  (YEP! I drew this one!)

To get started, you will need:
a heat laminator, Versamark Ink, and/or some really sticky two sided tape
stamps
cardstock
heat gun

First, turn on your laminator, letting it heat for quite some time - you will want it to
get as hot as possible.

Decide what image you want to use, and ink it up well with Versamark Ink.
I always rub my cardstock with an embossing buddy, or the embossing powder tool
to eliminate static prior to embossing.  For this project, I used my MISTI tool,
in order to re-ink with Versamark a few times to get a good image.

Next, apply embossing powder to your cardstock.

Using your heat gun, heat the embossed image.

Here is what your panel should look like.

Fold a sheet of copy paper in half, lay your embossed cardstock panel face up, and
place your sheet of foil on top of the embossed image. The foil should be 'pretty' side up.

Fold the copy paper over the foiled panel, and run it through your laminator.

Turn the whole bundle and run through again.

Slowly peel the foil off .

Here is what the foiled panel looks like.

I decided that since I used an outline image, rather than a solid image,
it needed a bit more zing, so I did a bit of distress sponging over the foiling.

I also foiled a sentiment, and used some colored mats to complete this card.

Next, I decided to see what would happen if I used some two sided tape.
I taped a strip on my card panel, then did some embossed lines on either side using a
score board.

Peel the tape off, and add your foil.  Rub in firmly with your fingertip.

Peel away the tape, and voila!

Here is how I finished that piece. I just kept adding score lines and foil, then trimmed
to fit my card front as desired.  The flowers were stamped on with Versamark,
and heated through the laminator. Once the card base was finished, I
adhered the white panel with pop-dots to give it front and center attention.

None of these photos show how pretty the foiling is. In this photo,
I tried to capture the shine.

We hope you will give this a try!  It will take some patience and some practice, but
a roll of foil comes with several sheets, and is approximately $4-$5, so practice to your hearts content!  If you try this, come back and let us know - we'd love to see your finished
projects!

Thanks for your patience with all these photos!

Have a great day,

Patti J.

Thinking of You...

Good morning!

I'm here with a pretty card that I created using Crafter's Companion products.
I needed a card for a special friend that collects the beautiful, old perfume atomisers. When
Crafter's Companion came out with  this fabulous new die, it went to the top of my wish list!

So, here is what my friend will find in her mailbox today or tomorrow:

This first photo was taken without flash, using natural light. If you enlarge the photo,
you can see a bit of sparkle,

however....

This next photo is a close-up, using my flash, so now you can see just how much sparkle and
shimmer  you can achieve with a Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen.

I really had fun with this card.  I used a couple of new dies from the Downton Abbey collection, and a beautiful new paper pad and stamp from Sara Davies!

Note: Everything except my Kraft card base is actually from the Sara Davies Paper Pad! Look
at that pretty, subtle tone on tone on the frames and sentiment pieces!

Here are the Crafter's Companion supplies that I used:

Hope you had a great week, and are looking forward to a fun weekend!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Patti J.

Photo Inspiration Challenge at The House That Stamps Built

Hello!
So glad you stopped by today!

It's time for a new Photo Inspiration challenge at The House that Stamps Built!

Here is the photo that we were given for inspiration:

Yikes! This was a tough one for me.  The photo is so pretty, but my brain went into an advanced stage of brain lock when I tried to create using this photo as inspiration.

I guess it's why they call it a challenge, right?????

Well, when looking at this photo, I was drawn to the woodgrain and the bird.
Here is what I made today, using this Repeat Impressions Stamps:

The image was stamped onto patterned paper and lightly colored.
It was matted on Kraft, then a yellow card base.
I left the sentiment off, not knowing what occasion this would be used for.

Now, it's your turn!
Come on over and join us in our Photo Inspiration Challenge!  If I
can do it, you can do it!!!

Remember, you don't HAVE to use Repeat Impressions Stamps
but if you do, you have double the chance of winning!
I can't wait to see your beautiful cards using this photo!!!

Happy Birthday America!

Hi there!

I feel like I've been away forEVER!  My last 15 blog posts were pre-scheduled,
as I went to Germany for several weeks to help our daughter and her family. They
have a new baby (hooray for new 'grands'!), a toddler (hooray for toddlers!),
and are in the process of doing a military move from Germany back to the US.
Needless to say, it was great to see everyone, and we did get a lot accomplished.

Thanks for your patience while I was gone...

I'm here today to share a Crafter's Companion card that I think turned out so nicely!

Fun card, right?  Had to smile while I was putting this one together :)

Here are the Crafter's Companion products that I used:

Hope you are all doing well - hope to get by your blogs this weekend and say hello!

Hugs and blessings,

Two or More...

Hello!

I hope you are enjoying your week - Happy Wednesday!

It’s challenge day at The House that Stamps Built, and we have a great Designer’s Choice Challenge for you. RI Rock Star, Deonna, is hosting and has a wonderful theme challenge for us. Please join in our challenge, and create something using the theme:
"Use 2 or more stamps".

Here's what I made using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

The image and sentiment were stamped on a patterned paper focal panel, and matted with brown cardstock, and another layer of patterned paper. Remember those 'screw' brads that we all had to have years ago?  Found some in my stash, and used them in the corners for a masculine touch.
The panels were then popped up with dimensional foam onto a Kraft card base.

Voila...easy peasy!!!

And now it’s your turn!
We hope you will create a card that has a focus on the DCC theme, ‘Use 2 or more stamps', and enter it in our challenge at The House that Stamps Built!  Remember, your creation does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include our designs we would love to see them!

Birthday Roses

Hi everyone - Happy Friday!

Today, I've made two cards, by cutting and pasting some beautiful die cuts from Crafter's Companion.
I love the way these turned out.

Here's what I made:

Seeing double?  I cut the cardstock panel in half, using each color on two cards, and
cut the rose a little larger than half, again using each color on the opposite color panel.
The sentiment was heat embossed in white, a bow and bit of curly ribbon was added,
and two cards were born. Love it when they come together so nicely!
Next time I do this, I will pop up the roses, for some dimension!

Here are the products that I used:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'll see you next week with another fun project for Crafter's Companion!
