Color Challenge at FBW
Thoughts in Ivory...
We are very blessed today - DD ended up under a moving hay wagon Friday night, and sustained only minor injuries. DS turned 35 today, and DH is feeling better today.

Thank you!!!
I wanted to thank all of you that voted for me in the Cosmo Cricket contest! I really had to step out of my comfort zone a bit as I've never tried for anything like that before!
The winner was announced today - it is our friend, Michelle Wooderson, known as Mish Mash on her blog! Michelle is a long time member of the Papertrey Ink DT, and is a fabulous crafter of just about any medium! I am thrilled for Michelle!!!
Prizes were awarded for 1st through 5th place, and I ended up being tied for 5th place! I will be receiving a 'consolation packet' from Cosmo Cricket this week, via UPS. It's a package from the new Circa 1934 line! I can't wait to get it!
Seeing as I waited until the last minute to jump in and throw my hat in the ring, I am tickled pink!!!
Thank you all for your votes!!!
Have a great day - Pj

Good Morning!
The challenge this week is to make a card/project that features prayer; either someone praying, or a verse about prayer, or a greeting that lets someone know you are praying for them.
Lisa's scripture was Jesus' response to the disciples when they asked Jesus to teach them to pray. There is no right or wrong way to pray - the best way for me is simply and quietly.
I hope that you like it! Hop over and look around at Layers of Color, and be sure to join in the challenge this week at Stampin' Sisters in Christ!!!

In the above scripture, I think that Paul was speaking to Timothy, who was a young man, probably going into the ministry. Paul was preparing Timothy for some of the challenges he would soon face as a young preacher. I think, in verse 4, Paul was telling Timothy that everything God has made is good, that we are to look upon our food and many other blessings as that which God has created, that we have it from Him, and must use it for Him, and that these blessings are double sweet when received with thanksgiving, and sanctified by the word of God, and by prayer to God.
---
Having a gift from God is not good enough. To ignore an opportunity to thank God for these gifts is to neglect them. Sometimes, in our hectic and crazy lifes, 'life' gets in the way, and we forget to thank Him.
---
My dear husband is usually cheerful and wide awake within seconds of waking up each morning, and within minutes, he is singing, humming, and has the news playing on the TV. I need just a wee bit more quiet time prior to being quite that cheerful, but over the years, we have both found that being cheerful and thankful is the best and only way to start our day.
---
Today, dear friends, I woke up thankful. I have counted my blessings, and have given thanks for them. I am thankful for family and friends - they know me so well, and choose to love me anyway! I am thankful for the chance to laugh, talk, pray, and eat together. I know that I have many blessings that I have forgotten to count, and pray that God will help me see these missed blessings.
---
I dug out some old dictionaries, and was saddened to see the definition of thanksgiving change over the years. In 1959, it included 'praising God for his mercies'. Over the years, "God" has changed to a small reference of 'divine goodness'.
---
I hope that all of you have woken up thankful today. Maybe your life is not perfect, maybe you have needs and wants that have not yet been fulfilled, but my prayer for you today is that you wake up counting your many blessings, with an attitude of gratitude!
---
Again, our challenge is: Thank You. It is amazing to see the talent that you bring to our challenges each week, and we are eager to see what visions of beauty that you create this week!
---
Hugs, and blessings!

Cemetary Walk, etc...
They have a very old graveyard, with most dates in the 1700's and 1800's. When we arrived, there was a small donation for the upkeep of the cemetary. Once paid, we were handed an old time lantern to carry for lighting. There were people dressed in the 'costumes', playing the parts of whoever was buried in several of the graves, and these people were 'ghosts'. However, they were wonderful, friendly ghosts, telling the history of the families they were a part of, and the town that they loved. Some were soldiers, there was a school teacher, a stone mason, etc. We learned a lot about the history of the area tonight, and I'm so glad that I went.
Now for the etc. part of this post. Drum roll, please.......
I appreciate all of you who entered to win, and who stop by to visit my blog. I wish you all could have won!!!
The winners of my blog candy are:
Becky (Diamond in the rough)

Back to 'work'...
Air Force beat Navy! Hoo-rah!
The celebration on the field after the game was nearly as exciting as the game was!
The view from our lodge window. Our DS found the most quaint and quiet lodge in Monument, Co., for us to stay in. We were about 4 miles from the Air Force Academy. It was wonderful.
It was a great weekend. DH and I got some quality driving time together. The trip was about 15 hours each way.
It was wonderful seeing DS, as I had not seen him at all since Christmas. He and his dad went to spring training in March in Florida, but I've missed him terribly!
And...it was awesome to be back on the grounds of the USAFA. DS graduated from the Academy in 1998, and we haven't been back to Colorado since his graduation.
All righty, I am off to 'work' on a card to post! Thanks for being so patient with this sentimental mom! See you later with a creation of some sort!
Don't forget - tomorrow is the last day to enter for my blog candy! I will post winners on Saturday!
Hugs,
Patti J.

Nature...
I apologize, but I don't have anything more for you.
Hopefully, Blogger will cooperate and this will post on Sunday morning!
And... hopefully, by the time you get up and read this post, we will be having Sunday breakfast with our son, who I have not seen since last Christmas. He's in Colorado on business, and we have driven out to see him.
We'll start home after breakfast. It's about a 15-16 hour drive, so send up some extra prayers!
Have a great day!
Patti J.
