Mornin' on the Farm

Hello!

I have a fun card to share today! This card features a new release stamp from Technique Junkies, #S775 Mornin' on the Farm. The sentiment is from an older release, #SD580 A Good Friend.

Here's my card:

I've been seeing a lot of this fold on the internet lately, and decided to try my hand at one. It's called several different things, but the majority pop up when you look for bay window cards. Each one is a bit different, so I found 3 or 4 that I like, and adapted measurements and things to work like I wanted, and this card was the end result!

To make the card front, the image was stamped, colored and ink blended with Ink Blending Brushes and Distress Oxide Inks, and then cut into the appropriate sized strips to create the panels.

This post is a bit photo heavy, but I couldn't get all of the image to show nicely in one photo, so you're stuck with several!

Another view, showing the cute little cottage.

Final photo, showing the card folded flat to fit into an A-2 envelope.

That's all for today.

I sure have enjoyed this June release, and can't wait to share next month's stamps! Hope you see something you like!

So glad you stopped by today!

Butterfly Flourish Collage

 Hello!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog. I have 2 cards to share today, using a couple of fun new stamps, #S915 Butterfly Flourish Collage, and #SS136 Lighthouse Sentiments from Technique Junkies

Here's my first card:
Isn't this a gorgeous stamp? The focal panel was stamped by rubbing some Distress Oxide inks over the stamp, and stamping. I took a baby wipe after stamping, and smoothed out/blended the colors together. The sentiment is stamped with black Versafine ink on colored cardstock. The sentiment is from another new release stamp set #SS136 Lighthouse Sentiments. There is something in this sentiment set for everyone on your card list!

And here is card number two:
Goodness, I wish you could see this card in real life. It's an 'oooh and aaahhh' card, if ever there was one! The panels were stamped with Versamark Ink, and heat embossed with Speckled Egg Embossing Glaze. Jaw dropping gorgeous!

Hopefully, this photo shows the glaze a bit better.

The sentiment for this card is from the #SS02b Simple Sentiments, Set 2, Style b set.

These were both fun to make - golly, I love this July release!

So glad you stopped by today!

Be sure to head over to the Technique Junkies store and check out this incredible release!

Flip Flop Memories

 Hello!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog. I have 2 cards to share today, using a couple of fun new stamps, #SDX191 Flip Flop Memories, and #SD1102 At the Beach Border from Technique Junkies

Here's my first card:

The beach scene was stamped and colored with Copic Markers, prior to framing it up with some 'sandy' looking designer paper from my stash. The sentiment was stamped onto the 'hill'. A cute sunny die cut finished this one off nicely.

And here is card number two:

For this card, my backgrounds were made by stamping #S747 Sudsy Stuff with some blue inks. After stamping the background, I sprayed a light coating of Dolphin Cove Shimmering Bliss over the panels. A couple of fun die cuts, and the fun flip flop sentiment make this one a winner!

These were both fun to make - I'm having a lot of fun with this release!

Accept What Is...

Hi Friends!

I have two very clean and simple cards to share today, using a beautiful new release stamp from Technique Junkies, #S928 Accept What Is. These were so easy to create, and what a lovely message. We all need to remember this one from time to time. I'm thinking of framing one of these for my CRoffice (crap craft room/office).

Here are my cards:

For this card, I colored the focal panel with Copic markers, and then fussy cut around the flowers. I felt it needed something, so I added a black panel behind the focal panel. Hmmm...it STILL needed something, so out came my A Colorful Life Damask Stencil, Distress Oxide Ink, and Ink Blending Brush, and voila! Super easy, and oh, so pretty!

So....It doesn't get any easher that this!  The stamping was done on a piece of patterned paper, fussy cut around the flowers, and adhered to black cardstock. It needed something more, so I cut two narrow strips of the patterned paper and adhered that at top and bottom of card.

I'm not sure I can pick a favorite from these two! Both turned out nicely, and both were very speedy cards to create.

So glad you stopped by today!

Hello! So glad you stopped by today!

My Pick of the Week

Hi everyone!

It's my turn to share a Pick of the Week at The House that Stamps Built

Today, I chose to feature a very quick and easy card style.

The Repeat Impressions Stamps that I used for this card are:

To create these cards, I make plain white A2 card bases. Next, I used a die, and an embossing pad, to emboss a 'frame' into the card front.  I set all 9 card fronts aside, and began coloring images.

Did you know that Repeat Impressions has these beautiful little window stamps? It seems we are always short of anniversary, get well, and thinking of you cards, so my goal was to add to my stash with these pretty cards!

After the images were colored, I cut them out, just barely outside of the stamp border, and glued one into each of the frames.

Last, using a stamp positioner, a sentiment was stamped onto each card.

These are great for mailing, as they are all one layer cards!

Here's what I made:

Grab those RI stamps and give this a try!

Lighthouses

 Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog. I have 2 cards to share today, using two beautiful new release stamp sets, #S921 Lighthouses and #SS136 Lighthouse Sentiments , from Technique Junkies

Here's my first card:

Wow! This is such a beautiful release to work with! To create the background for this card, I squeezed a bit of blue, brown, and white acrylic paint onto my Gel Press, and brayered it a bit. I laid the #S909 Flowing Zen stamp onto the Gel Press, pressed gently, and carefully removed the stamp, and replaced it with a piece of white cardstock. I let the cardstock dry, then stamped the sentiment and image with Versafine brown ink. Finished this one off with a nautical die cut and a little brown twine. I love how 'stormy' the background ended up looking.

Moving on to card two:

The focal panel was colored with Copics. Once I finished coloring, I spritzed water onto a bit of Distress Oxide Inks, and laid the card down, moving it here and there, until I got the 'perfect' amount of splatters. I grabbed a scrap for the sentiment, and put it down into the ink prior to stamping the sentiment.

These were both pretty easy to create, and I'm having a lot of fun with the July release!

So glad you stopped by today!

Include Stenciling on cards

 Hello!

So glad you stopped by today!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is to use stenciling on our cards.

I have a friend fighting breast cancer, so decided to go with a pink theme!

I used these Repeat Impressions' stamps:

I stenciled the background using Faded Petals, from A Colorful Life Designs. I used an ink blending brush and some Kitch Flamingo Distress Oxide ink, and the background was done!

Next up, I colored the prescription bottle and 'pills', and fussy cut it. Popped it up over a doily using some dimensional foam. Easy, fun, cheerful card!

Now it's your turn! Come join us in our challenge! Remember, you don't HAVE to use Repeat Impressions Stamps, but if you do, you have double the chance of winning!
I can't wait to see your beautiful scene cards!!!

Flowing Zen

 Hello!

It's July 1st - Release day at Technique Junkies! We have some awesome new stamps for you, and all of them are 15% off through June 8th! No codes are needed, just put them in your shopping cart and the discount will be applied at checkout.

Here is the Gotta Have it All Bundle, and a little preview of the new stamps:

A new background stamp #S909 Flowing Zen was released this month. I had a great time creating with it!

Without further chatter, here are my cards for today's hop:

For this first card, I used some Distress Oxide inks and blending brushes, and created a background, using #S909 Flowing Zen. Then, I stamped #SD440 ATC Better With Friends, using some Versafine Black Ink. I'm pleased with the final outcome and hope you like it!

For this card, I tried something a little different.  I stamped the #S909 Flowing Zen with a purple ink in one direction, then turned my cardstock and stamped again in the other direction. The sentiment is from the new release set #SS136 Lighthouse Sentiments.  I matted the panel onto purple cardstock, then cut a 'frame' out of the purple and glued it over top of the stamped panel. This was then mounted onto a white card base, and voila! Very simple, pretty card!

This was 'one of those cards' that I couldn't get to photograph well. The colors are actually very bright and vibrant, not dull and washed out. It's a cloudy, rainy day here - perhaps that contributed. Anyway, what a fun card!  I stamped the #S909 Flowing Zen and colored it with Copic Markers, Then I stamped #SD1104 Boring Hair, colored it with Copics, and matted each piece onto green, white, then green again. The thought bubble was done by stamping onto white cardstock, and wadding up a piece of saran wrap, and dabbing the Jade colored ink onto the cardstock. I used a fine point marker to 'stitch' the lower section of the thought bubble.

Note: In my next life, I will most definitely have hair like this!!!

So....which one is your favorite?

I hope you like these fun new releases, and can't wait for you to see the rest of this release!
