Little Things Make Life So Big...

Good morning!

Here's hoping that your Wednesday is off to a great start!

I've done a little bit of floor sealing, and a little bit of crafting, and a LOT of coffee drinking so far this morning.

Looks like we are going to be stormed on some time soon - darn, I won't have to water the tomato plants! (I hate it when THAT happens!)
* * * * *

Today's card features one of The Angel Company's new sets. A few weeks ago, when my back was 'out', my dear friend, Shirley gave this to me as a get well gift - it worked! I'm well!!!

I made it primarily with Flutterby Wednesday Challenge in mind. The gals have taken a summer break, and today is their first day back. Woot woot! They have been missed!!! Today's challenge is an open challenge - just include a butterfly, angel, or fairy on your project!

This card was very simple.

I simply stamped the three images with Versafine Brown Ink, then masked them off and sponged the 'stripe' with Tim Holtz' Weathered Wood Distress Ink.

No coloring. At all...

I really wanted to bling it up, but it needed to be CAS, so I took a deep breath and stopped!

I will also enter this here:

Cas-Tastic Challenge: Kraft-y Kreations
I've received a few emails asking me where my "food for thought" has gone! To be honest, it seems like I'm always posting in a hurry, and just don't think about it. I will try to be better! I like it when my peeps are smiling!
Food for thought:
Did you know...If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, that person died in battle. If the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
Now you know!!!
Have a great day!

Christmas in August...

The challenge at Our Creative Corner this week is: Christmas in August! Well, thanks to OCC, I now have my first Christmas Card finished! Woot Woot!

The photograper (me...) didn't do a very good job - it was hard to photograph, with the gold glossy cs reflecting. This was actually done without a flash, but the ceiling lights were reflecting!

DCWV CS, DP's were scraps, used alcohol inks...Staz on ink, misc. gold strings and fibers. Stamp unknown.

Hope you like it!

Fall is in the air...

Wow, what a great challenge this week over at Our Creative Corner. The challenge has a fall harvest theme, and is an art inspired challenge as well. Here are the inspiration pieces:

Aren't they beautiful? Please go check out the OCC blog, and read about these photo's, and perhaps play along! Their DT has posted some fabulous cards for you to see, as always! I know you won't be disappointed!

I didn't have any stamps that I could think of that depicted picking wildflowers...

However, I had a cute set by TAC that had a man picking veggies, and a cute wagon by Rupa, from Gina K. Designs that was full of apples.

So... I put some stems on the mans veggies, and made them apples!!! It's amazing what you can do with a sharp colored pencil and some stipple brushes!!! On glossy paper, I did some brayering and some masking for the background with the Kaliedacolor Autumn Ink Pad. I brought out the Heather Flower Soft for the field. The images are cut out and popped up with dots. I omitted a sentiment, as I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the card.

Hope you like it!
Here is today's card for 365 Cards...we were to use stars on our cards! And since this week is also glitter week, I blinged these babies up!!! Lol! Thank heaven for glittered cardstock, as it was 10:30 p.m., and I realized I had not even thought about this challenge yet!!! Cheesy but finished....relief!

By the way - here is TODAY'S view from the doorway at 6:30 this a.m.... God is good!!!

Take Three!

I was actually able to make today's card for three different challenges.

I started out by following the sketch at Mojo Monday. I'm pretty proud of myself - I didn't flip it on it's side OR upside down! I simply followed the sketch (new concept for this rebel!!!).

Loretta Lock, the August Host over at Our Creative Corner, has created a fun color challenge for us. The theme is: "When I am old, I shall wear purple". I think this card definitely qualifies as a shade of purple!!!

Last, but certainly not least, Day 158 at 365 Cards was "What's your sign?" day. We were to create a sign on our cards.

No pixies were injured in the making of this card as I paper pieced only the clothing!

Stamp: CC Designs Swiss Pixies "Heidi" (from All That Scraps), Ink: Versafine, Black, Tombow Markers, Sharpie Marker, EK Success Buckle Punch, Nestabilities Circle Dies.

Well, dear friends, I am off to paint a wall, and hopefully stimulate some very weary brain cells! Today's 365 challenge is to create an Indoors scene. As I have absolutely zero inside stamps, I am going to have to really think about this one!!! Lol....I have a few ideas floating around... can you say 'freehand'???

Have a great Thursday!

Whew...

I don't even know what to call this one, except "thank goodness I'm done with it"!!! Today's challenge over at 365 cards kicked my backside! I just couldn't think of a thing to do, so I did the easy way out!

The challenge at 365 Cards was to create a card using this picture as inspiration. Wow! The chocolate just made me think of chocolate! You can't do very much to improve chocolate, can you? lol...

Here is the photo:

Now, before I show my project, the challenge over at Midnight Madness, was this sketch:

And....Diana over at Memory Crafter posted this box challenge for this week:

Last, but not least, Our Creative Corner's challenge was to use red, white, and blue.

Now, I knew that I would never find time to do all four projects with DH home, so I combined them! I followed Diana's directions and made the box. I used the inspiration photo for the chocolate cake, stars, etc., and I followed the sketch over at Midnight Madness for the layout on the box. All were done as you can see, with red, white, and blue!

DCWV CS, Stamps by The Angel Company, Versafine Black Ink
Whew.....thank goodness that tomorrow is another day! I have a HUGE respect for you ladies out there that tackle more than one challenge at a time every day. I think that there must truly be brain cells hating me right now!
Have a wonderful evening - we are going out with some friends, so I will probably be off the computer until tomorrow a.m.
Blessings!

Flutterby....

Hello! Hope your day has been productive and happy. I am glad that mine is at the 'time for ME' point!

I made this card for Stamp Challenges. I just came in and did a little blog hopping and found them for the first time and got excited about trying a challenge with them! All stamps are from Little Paper Shop, which I won a few weeks ago on an Our Creative Corner challenge! The papers are all from 3 Bugs In a Rug. I used my favorite ink - Colorbox Chalk, Chestnut roan for all stamping and distressing. Also used was a Martha Stewart edge punch for the little strip in the center, and some flat pearls. Hope it brings a smile to your evening - I liked the way it
turned out!

The little flap lifts up on the front, and the card also opens like a regular greeting card!

Have a wonderful night! I'm off to Engler Park to walk my 100 steps while DD walks her 10000!!!
