Little Things Make Life So Big...

Good morning!

Here's hoping that your Wednesday is off to a great start!

I've done a little bit of floor sealing, and a little bit of crafting, and a LOT of coffee drinking so far this morning.

Looks like we are going to be stormed on some time soon - darn, I won't have to water the tomato plants! (I hate it when THAT happens!)
* * * * *

Today's card features one of The Angel Company's new sets. A few weeks ago, when my back was 'out', my dear friend, Shirley gave this to me as a get well gift - it worked! I'm well!!!

I made it primarily with Flutterby Wednesday Challenge in mind. The gals have taken a summer break, and today is their first day back. Woot woot! They have been missed!!! Today's challenge is an open challenge - just include a butterfly, angel, or fairy on your project!

This card was very simple.

I simply stamped the three images with Versafine Brown Ink, then masked them off and sponged the 'stripe' with Tim Holtz' Weathered Wood Distress Ink.

No coloring. At all...

I really wanted to bling it up, but it needed to be CAS, so I took a deep breath and stopped!

I've received a few emails asking me where my "food for thought" has gone! To be honest, it seems like I'm always posting in a hurry, and just don't think about it. I will try to be better! I like it when my peeps are smiling!
Food for thought:
Did you know...If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, that person died in battle. If the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
Now you know!!!
Have a great day!

One Sketch 5 Ways! (Sort of)

Hello, and happy Saturday!

Several weeks ago, I picked up my first copy of Papercrafts Magazine's "Go To Sketches". I haven't used sketches much, except in individual challenges, but after reading this magazine cover to cover, again and again, the "Go-To Girls" - Terri, Maren, Kim H., Kim K., Betsy, and Jessica have changed my mind!

I proceeded to draw up a few sketches, and I find that they simplify things in measures of oodles! One of the sketches that I drew seemed absolutely perfect for a set of digi stamps that Paulette has over at Create with TLC. This set is called "In Sympathy", and has 5 (FIVE!!!) separate images for $2.50. Amazing!!! What a nice gift a set of cards from these images would make! If you haven't been to Create with TLC, hurry over and check out her store and her wonderful freebies.

As all cards have patterned paper, I will enter this blog entry at: Just-add-ink (Just add patterned paper)
Thanks for stopping by! Hope that your weekend is peaceful and relaxing. We are still working on our kitchen and laundry room floors - ugh!

Blessings and hugs!

CAS and Joyfully Sing...

Hello!

Fast forward a few hours....WHAT DOES SUNSHINE LOOK LIKE??? Sigh.... I'd like the rain a lot better if I were a duck!

I have two cards this morning. The first card is for two challenges.

The challenge at the Simplicity blog was to make a one-layer card that incorporates a faux embellishment in some way.

My main image is the Papertrey Ink's Everyday Button Bits set. I chose to use the hot air balloons. Of course, we couldn't use 'buttons', so I had to stamp some! I found three circle stamps of the right size to make the balloons. The two smaller stamps were from the $1 bin at Michael's, and the largest circle was in a cute little stamp set that my good friend Olga sent me for my birthday last month. The bottom was sponged on, using the edge of a border that I had cut out and didn't need. Coloring is done with Tombow Markers.

I will be submitting this card to the following challenges:

1. Simplicity: Faux Embellishments

2. Cas-Tastic Challenges: Make a one layer card.

The second card is for the challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ. Their challenge this week was to make a card or project that depicts music or singing, or other joyful praise. The sentiment stamp is an Angel Company stamp. The bird is another $1 stamp. The DP is a scrap from my stash...sorry! Coloring is done with colored pencils, and sponging is done with Tim Holtz distress ink, Old Linen. I've added ribbon from my stash, some brown pearls, and a bit of Scrapper's Floss.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday. The weekend is almost upon us! It will be a working weekend here!

Take care - see you soon!
