We have a winner!

Hello dear friends!
This darling image was one of four images that I won at For Fun Challenges a couple of weeks ago. It's by Sassy Studio Designs, and I thought she was absolutely perfect for this week's Pirate challenge at CCEE Stampers!
Hope you like it! All coloring is with my Koh-I-Noor Pencils and LOMS. CS is DCWV
I entered this card here also:
Stamp Something: Use a digi image

What an exciting Sunday we had. We went to a neighboring city about 1.5 hrs. away to watch our dear daughter participate in her first half marathon. It was amazing how many people of all ages, body types, and physical condition turned out to run this race. It was also fun to watch the 'cheerleaders' for other runners. We spent a very nice morning, in beautiful weather conditions watching Melissa start AND finish this race. For those not familiar, a half marathon is 13.1 miles. The race officials said this course was actually 13.2. We are so proud of her for attempting and finishing. The course had many inclines, and some of the inclines were steady uphill for a long way. Anyway, thanks for listening to me brag a bit, and for looking at our photos.
The Starting Gate (Arch)...
Before the race began...
About 2/3 of the way through the race...
Crossing the finish line... the 5k runners and race winners were cheering on others as they finished.

Have a great week!

Hugs and smiles!

Oh, the places you'll go...

I love Dr. Seuss! Always have, and always will. When the kids were young, we had Green Eggs and Ham, and other books totally memorized, as did the kids!

So, when The Angel Company came out with this travel set, and had a sentiment from Dr. Seuss included, guess who had to buy it?

I know that it was meant for me to have it, because as I was mounting and cutting it out, I was also blurfing, looking for challenges. (See, I can multi-task!)

Anyway, here I am cutting and mounting, and I open up Crafty Creations Challengs.
AHA! The challenge this week is "Transportation".
Okay, peeps, I've got it made in the shade for this one!

lol...
However, I was also in the camper, where there are very limited resources! I was able to stamp, but had little else to work with, so I stamped, and stamped and stamped!
Instead of coloring, I paperpieced the vehicles!
Found a scrap of ribbon in my bag, and made a road.
Voila, a transportation card, while sitting in a transportation vehicle.
This next two cards are made with a new TAC set as well, "Peace, Be Still". I love the gentle and serene nature of the stamps.
This is for Fresh Brewed Designs, where the challenge is simply "Brown". It is. I've not added a sentiment, as I'm not sure who's getting this one. I'll add it when I decide!
Last, here's a very simple card made for the following challenges:
For Fun Challenges: Black, White, and one other color
Simplicity: Black, white, and a spot of color

All righty, off I go. Have a bit of housework to do before heading to church for some great singing! Take care everyone!

Fun in the Sun

I inked up this little guy, just thinking I needed something to color. I wasn't really worried about challenges, but I found some that he'll work for! Stamps are The Angel Company, and coloring is pencils and min. spirits.
Stamp Something: Recipe: 1 DP (DCWV Mat Stack), 1 Ribbon (Twill), 1 Image (TAC)
For Fun Challenges: No die cut images - use your favorite coloring medium (pencils and loms)
Creative Card Crew: Use Die Cuts (Nesties)
Thanks for stopping by - hope you like him!

Groovy!

Well friends, once again, dear daughter was the inspiration behind one of my cards.

DD stopped by the other night, and spent the night, before leaving the next morning for a visit with friends in Louisiana. When she left, she was wearing a very neon green t-shirt, which was as cute as can be! I had thought about the "Groovy" challenge at Paper Playtime for 4 full days, and didn't know what I was going to make for it. When I saw her in this cute t-shirt, with white print on the front, I knew exactly what had to be pulled out and inked up!!! PEACE ANYA!!! And here she is! Anya is almost as cute as dear daughter is!
Coloring is done with colored pencils and mineral spirits. Flowers on headband are highlighted with a bit of Glossy Accents. CS is DCWV Rock Star.
I will also enter this card here:
Ooh-la-la: use colors of the challenge blog (orchid, yellow, pink, green)
This card was created for the For Fun Challenge this week. The theme at For Fun is: For a man. This stamp set from Dimensions cracks me up - couldn't resist using it!

No coloring - everything is paper pieced. Sponging is done with Tim Holtz Adirondack inks.

That's all I have for tonight! I'm hoping to spend tomorrow with DH, so I will be back on Monday! Have a safe and blessed Sunday!

Food for thought: Only in America do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten, and buns in packages of eight!

Anything but a card...

The challenge this week at For Fun Challenges is (not) to make a project that is anything but a card. Sweet! I needed a 'little something' for someone, and here is the perfect excuse to make it!
So I guess I lied! Helen at For Fun Challenges just emailed me and whispered very politely that the challenge was to use a stamp! lol...thank goodness I did indeed use a stamp! Oh, well...I have been away since March 11th, I'm allowed a couple of mistakes! I'm sure I saw that someplace...wonder where??? lol!!!

I just took some scraps of cardstock and made this post-it holder. The only stamping is the simple sentiment on the cover from The Angel Company. No coloring! Easy Peasy! (Not clean and simple though - LOOK AT THAT FLOWER!!!)

Have a great day, everyone! Thanks for stopping by.

For Fun!

For Fun Challenges is a fairly new challenge blog. The designers are Helen, and Kym want you to have fun, relax, and make friends, while being creative! Helen asked me a few weeks ago to be a Guest Designer for today's challenge. I am thrilled to have been asked! Thanks Helen and Kym!

My project this week is a box of cards. I love making boxes of any size and shape, and as you will see, this box actually has an easel card top! Usually, when I do an A-2 box, I make coordinating cards, all using the same cardstock and designer papers. I was in need of several cards, so this time, I made several non-coordinating cards.

Easel Card Box Top (Opened)

Sarah Kay Stamp "Time for Apple Pie" (purchased from Sunflowers & Dragonflies), Just-Rite Stampers sentiment, TAC More Mimi Cardstock, Koh-I-Noor Colored Pencils and Mineral Spirits

Card #1 (Front)

Card #1 (Inside)

Time for Prayer by Creative Clear Stamps, DCWV Cardstock
All items are paper pieced - no coloring!

Card #2
Kraft CS, Martha Stewart Edge Punch, TAC sentiment stamp, TAC Edge Design stamp, Verve Abundant Blessings stamp, Color Box Chestnut Roan Ink

Card #3
Just Rite Stampers sentiment stamp, Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, CS scraps, Scor-Bug, Koh-I-Noor pencils and LOMS

Card #4
TAC stamps, Adirondack Denim Blue Ink, TAC More Mimi DP

Card #5
JoAnn's Crafts $1 stamp, TAC brad, ribbon, flower combo, Martha Stewart Wide edge punch, Koh-I-Noor pencils and LOMS

Card #6

Papertrey Ink sentiment stamp, TAC Edge Designs stamp, DCWV CS, Kraft CS

My challenge for this week's For Fun Challenges, is to make and post a card of encouragement (Thinking of you, Hello, Miss You, etc.) on the For Fun Challenges blog. After posting your card, I challenge you to mail it to someone that is going through a rough time, someone that needs your encouragement! Have fun!!!!

Thanks again, Helen and Kym!

Dazzle on...

Our daughter's blog, Small Town Girl's Guide, is just what the title depicts. She loves to travel to towns and places that she's never been to, and blog about them. There are so many wonderful small towns just in our area alone that I've never heard of. It's fun to see her discover and write about them. Two towns, Cuba, Mo., and St. Charles, Mo., (here are the links to the articles) have both featured articles that she posted on her blog on THEIR city blogs today. Wow! With that being said - this card is an on-line greeting for her! Melissa, we are so proud of you - you rock!

I used the sketch from For Fun Challenges for this card, taking the liberty of flipping it, putting the sentiment on the bottom. I had this amazing ribbon that was so perfect, and this stamp says it all!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today!

Pink, Purple, Gray, Get Well...

Wow! Two days of sunshine and no snow in a row! It was supposed to warm up a bit today, but the wind is still blowing pretty hard, so it does not feel warmer! I hope that you are all enjoying your day. I had intended to get out to run a couple of errands, but have not made it yet.

I took a few minutes a while ago to make a quick card. Those of you that know our Stef (a.k.a. Glitterbabe, the lampshade boogie queen), will certainly recognize her beautiful flower image here! I'm sure Stef meant this to be a vivid yellow Jonquil, but I took the liberty of coloring it pink to fit a challenge I was working on! Check out Stef's Etsy site, where you can find her wonderful images!

So, Helen Dooley has started up a new challenge site. It's called For Fun Challenges, and that's exactly what she is stressing - 'for fun'! Well, as I don't believe we girls can ever have enough fun, I'm going to give it a try! The challenge this week is to use Pink, Purple, and Gray. It's not very visible in the photo, but I have stippled around the flower in gray, and the dots on the ribbon are a silvery gray. Why don't you run over to Helen's very first challenge and give her a nice warm welcoming entry?!!?

I am also entering this card at Creative Card Crew. The challenge this week at CCC is "Get Well". You have GOT to run over and check out what their design team has posted this week - they are wonderful! There is even a Hangover Kit!!! lolololol..... I'm too old for that, but some of you youngsters might enjoy it! I may have to make up a few of those for 'just in case' occasions!
The dotted background, sentiment, and flourish are all TAC Stamps.
Have a great Wednesday, and I hope to be back tomorrow with something new. Take Care!
Patti J.
