Repeat Impression Photo Inspiration Challenge

It's Wednesday, and time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built!

Today's challenge is an inspirational photo. Isn't this beautiful?

Photo inspirations are the toughest challenges for me. I tend to think way too much INSIDE the box! I'm learning a bit to step outside of that box, and outside of my own comfort zone, and that's a

good thing!

I used Repeat Impressions 102-F Dragonfly, and Repeat Impressions 4405-K Dragonfly Deco for my card today.

Here's what I made:

I didn't have any papers that more closely touched on the color scheme, so this is what I used. Thought the print was a cool background. The dragonflies and sentiment were stamped with Versamark, and heat embossed in black.  The wee white sequins tied in the touch of white on the photo.  

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!!  Lol...

Another Birthday???

It's Saturday, and I'm back to share another fun creation for Great Impressions Stamps.

It seems like their releases just get cuter and cuter!

Today, the Great Impressions stamps that I used are:

D503 Another Birthday and

F611 Surprised Mouse.

Here's what I made with these darling new stamps:

I thought it would be fun to give this little mouse a floor to sit on, and a pretty painted wall.

When I see the card here on my blog, it almost looks like he's sitting on a wall, with a grassy field in front of him.  Oh well, I tried!!!

Fun with Die-Versions!

Die-Versions has another great new release, and I had a great time

creating with one of the new dies.

I used Die-Versions "Vintage Street Light" Whispers DV-451

for my card.

Here's what I created:

To begin, I die cut the lamp from a piece of patterned paper. I put some adhesive on the back side, die cut the lamp again in black, and inlaid the pieces into the opening on the patterned paper. I cut one more time, using some yellow patterned paper, and filled in the light itself. To finish, I stamped a sentiment, matted the layers together, and Voila!

Note that this lamp post is a great size for your A2 cards! Some that I've seen are pretty short, but this one would make such a nice backdrop for other dies or images. Can't wait to use it again!

I thought that this 'sweet', fresh, and fruity image needed to have all of the focus, so I left things pretty simple!

CardMaker - Ellison/Sizzix Blog Hop

Thanks to the folks at Sizzix, I had some incredible new products to create with! I am still pinching myself - what fun! Thank you Sizzix!

It was unbelievable, just how easy this card came together!

The products I used for this card were:  

Sizzix Big Express Machine, cutting pads, and Multipurpose Platform

Happy Birthday Step-Ups Framelits Die Set

Blue card stock, white card stock, sequins, adhesive, baker's twine

Here's a view from the side - just look at that fun die!!!

I decided to use some of the die elements to create a fun Birthday card!

I also used Stephanie Barnard's stamp set 'Back2Basics Set #1. This was the series premier in 2009, and I've nearly worn it out!

Great Impressions June Challenge

June? Seriously?

Yep!
And here we are with a new monthly challenge at Great Impressions.

Our challenge this month is 'Anything Goes'.

For my card, I used F570 Teddy Bearing Flowers, and C477 Coming Your Way.

Peerless watercolors were used for the background. The bear and flowers were colored with Copic markers. The bear was then smooshed with a piece a towel with some colorless blender, for a raggedy effect. He was adhered to the card front with dimensional foam. Flowers were stamped a second time, colored, fussy cut, and adhered directly over the stamped image.

CardMaker Celebrate and Decorate, AND Born to be Wild!

Good morning, everyone!

I'm up again today on the CardMaker Magazine Blog!

My assignment for today was to create a non-card project for the

'Celebrate and Decorate' category.

My project celebrates sisters (especially mine!) and decorates her new apartment with a fun creation. I had a LOT of fun with this - hope you will pop over, check it out, and leave
