Happy November!

Wow, another calendar page has turned! It's been a pretty fall, but not quite as colorful as some, due to the lack of rain.  Hope you are all well, and that you had a fun Halloween!

Here are a few more 'lost and found' items to share!

We have girl's day in, now and then, and we all bring a card kit for each person there.

This cute card was designed by my bestie, Shirley Hotop, and created by me!

Inside of card:

This one is from Crackerbox Stamps, I think! Isn't it adorable?

The next two were made one day, while creating at my bestie's house. She and I have a great time getting inky!  All Stampin' Up! products.

Stampin' Up! papers

Very quick Valentine's card. Hmmm....no memory of who, what, or where.

Thanks for popping in! I'm going to do my best to keep 'something' popping up here, while we are in CO getting hubby's radiation!

Hugs,
Patti J.

Another Saturday post of forgotten creations!

Hi all!

Having a great time - love spending time with these babies!
Hope you are all having a nice Satur-yay!

I think that all of these cards were made 2 years ago (I know...shame on me!) at a Girl's Day In. Several of us crafty friends try to get together periodically, and each of us brings a project to create. I'll probably get it wrong, but I'll try to remember who created what!

Cheryl taught us how to make these cuties!

These were taught by Diane

This was taught by Donna

Marian taught us this one

I taught this one

Sally taught this one

And Shirley taught this one - we had our choice!

Happy weekend, dear friends!!!

Girl's Day In...

Howdy ya'll...!

This time last week, I was at my friend Shirley's house, having a crafty day
with several of our friends.  We each brought one easy project, ate, crafted, ate, crafted,
and ate some more.  The menu consisted of things like pizza and chocolate - enough said?
It was a yummy, uber-fun day, and I thought I'd share what we made.

These cute cards were Diane's design. Diane JUST signed up
to sell Stampin'Up!  Here is what she brought for us to create:

Donna brought a fun shaker card.  Check out her tutorial HERE to see an
easy way to create a shaker card:

Donna's mom, Marian, is an 'adopted mom' to us all. At 86, she is still so very creative,
beautiful, and kind.  I feel so blessed to have her as an adopted momma!
Here is the project that Marian brought:

Our friend Sally, is a Stampin'Up! Demonstrator.  She is the one who has the get-togethers
at the local coffee shop that Shirley and I always talk about.  This beautiful card
was Sally's project for the day:

My bestie, Shirley, had the next project. What fun!  You can see that you
end up with the two cards shown, PLUS a punched oval from the background.
Shirley has a tutorial HERE to show you how this is done:

Next up is our friend Cheryl.  She brought these fun interactive items for us to
work with.  You can't see here, but you can actually open these fun hoodies
to find a message inside!  I wasn't sure how I was going to use these, so I did not
add them to cards yet.  These are so much fun!  There's the same detailing on the back!

Last, here was my project.  I'll be sharing the directions for this style of card
sometime next month - watch for it!

We had a fun day. One friend that we'd hoped could make it was unable to
attend, but we're hoping for next year!  This is an annual event for us.
We usually all attend the stamp convention in Collinsville IL in the summer,
as well.  Again, we create (make & takes), eat, and an added bonus is SHOP!

Have a great week - thanks for dropping in!

Creating for fun...

Hello!

I was lucky enough to have a girl's day in with my friend, Shirley, last week.
Here are the two cards we made:

This first card used the Lawn Fawn dies and stamps from the 'Spooktacular' set.
Pretty cute, right?

This card came from a tutorial on Dawn Griffith's blog, and uses Stampin'Up! products.
You pull at the top, and the top two layers slide up.  What a fun idea!

Shirley and I always have a good time together - this time, we got pedi's, then went to her house for lunch and creative time.

It was a good day - we hadn't gotten together since before my surgery, so it was almost a month
between seeing each other!

I'm feeling better each day. Hopefully, I'll be back on schedule in the next week or two,
posting regularly again, and commenting more often!

Thanks for your patience,

Patti J.

Gotta love a girl's day in!

Howdy, ya'll...

A few weeks ago, I got a call from my friend Shirley, who invited me over to
play in her amazing girl cave.  Since I didn't want to hurt her feelings,
I forced myself to go spend an afternoon creating cards.

Do you believe that?  Lol...I didn't give Shirley time to reconsider - I just
jumped in the car, put the pedal to the metal, and went zoom zoom.
We only live about five minutes away, so I think I was at her
door before she hung up the phone!  Anyway, she had some fun
cards all ready to create, and two of the cards we made:

Edit:  Gail asked me to share dimensions!  I trimmed here and there, until I had my panels and things the size that I wanted them, but here's what mine measures:
White card base = 6.5" x 4.5", scored at 1"
Striped background = 5 1/8 x 4"
Red 'card' = 9.5" x 3/75"
Inside panel = 3.25" x 4 3/16"
Front panel = 4.25" x 3.25"

So happy that you dropped by today!

I'll be back on Monday with the Project of the Week

Be sure to check out Wendy's sale - she's thankful for you, her customers, and wants to pass along some savings!  See yesterday's post for details!

On another note - we've attended two funerals this week.  Life is so short.
Please remember to say 'I love you' to those special people in your lives. We never
know when we may never have another opportunity.

Hugs...

Word Art Wednesday - just in the nick of time!

Hi again!
Wow - two posts in one day?  Sometimes, I amaze myself! lol...
I spent a wonderful time with my friend Shirley today. We literally locked
ourselves in her girl cave for HOURS, and only came out for food or restroom breaks.
What fun!  Thanks, Shirley - not sure which one of us needed that the most!
Mr. Mojo has returned.

Here is one of the cards we made.  We've been seeing these cards made with the Stampin'Up! Scallop Tag Punch, and since we both own one, we decided to give it a try.  The paper is also a new paper from Stampin'Up! The sentiment is a stamp from Hobby Lobby - don't remember who makes it.

Used my Perfect Layers Rulers to create the beautiful mats - check out my sidebar for details!

We both love the way it turned out, and I'm going to squeak this in to Challenge #132 at Word Art Wednesday, JUST in the nick of time!  I think it closes in about 6 hours.

Have a good evening,
I'm on my way to see what you've been up to!

Thanks for looking,
Patti J.

Girl's Day In...

Hello!
The weekend is nearly here - wahoo! Hope you have some fun plans.  It's supposed to get bitter cold here again, so I don't know what we will attempt to do.  Sigh...mother nature is really mad at us!

So, between our trip to Germany, and all of the many snowy days that we've been cooped up, my friend Shirley and I decided that we would get together on Wednesday and create some things.

I'll just make this short!  Here's what we made:

Isn't this bunny box the cutest thing ever?  Amuse Studio has this fabulous box die.  Perfect for 2 Ghirardelli candies, a box of Tic Tacs, handful of loose candy, a few tubes of Chapstick, etc.  The papers are Amuse Studio, as well. This was fun AND yummy!  Thanks, Shirley!

This was a pattern that Angie at 'My Chic 'n Scratch' was showcasing one day last week.  We used the bunny stamp (sorry, can't remember whose it is!), the center box is Neat & Tangled Stamps and sequins, and the Cardinal is Close to My Heart.  They hold two candy nuggets perfectly!

We also played with the box card again.  Ha ha...if you look closely, you will see that my DP on the bottom front is glued on sideways!  Oops!  Anyway, this one is a hodge podge of dies, bling, punches, and patterned papers.

This stamp is one of the new releases at Stampin'Up! this spring.  Isn't it pretty?  The sentiment is actually a part of the stamp.  The fun paper is a new patterned paper from Amuse Studio.

Here's a side view....

Then we created the fun and cheerful Easter card.  Again, I'm not sure who the stamp vendor is - sorry! Thanks, Shirley for another fun project!

Here's the inside view...

This is another Stampin'Up! new release stamp.  SO pretty!  I love tulips, and keep hoping to see the real thing popping up soon!

That's all I have for today!  We had a really good day - drank hot tea, got lots of doggie kisses (and a bruise or two :)
and chatted for HOURS!  Long overdue, and I'm already looking forward to the next session.
Great therapy!

Thanks for stopping by!
