Fall Festival...

Today was the annual Farmington Fall Festival.

*********
A couple of city blocks are closed to traffic each year for the Fall Festival. Businesses hold sidewalk sales, and crafters are invited to set up tables for a fee, and their items.

**********

DD is working to get into freelance photography, and set up a table with her black and white cards and framed prints, AND with her whole grain chocolate chunk cookies. MMMmmmm...... She asked me to go along and help her take care of business. Well..... "business" was SO much fun! It ended up for me, being mostly a visit with friends! If you can believe it, I am very sunburned! Anyway, basically, business was the usual craft sale - most folks just wandering around, enjoying the day, but some were buying. She sold enough to be able to go into St. Louis tonight for a girl's night out, and has potential comissioning of several large orders for a few folks. She had her camera with her, and was asked to shoot some 'on the spot' photo's of one woman's granddaughter, as well.

**********

The day was a lot of fun...saw many cute babies and lots of darling dogs, one of which even sported a pink satin, sequinned DRESS! lol Just about 2:15 p.m., a huge thundercloud shown overhead, and within about 5 minutes (just enough time to put things away!) we were pretty wet. The band that was playing included a young man we knew, so we jumped in to help put electrical type gadgets, etc., in their trailer, and within the next few minutes, we were soaked through to our under-roos! We laughed - neither of us have played in the rain in ages, and a good laugh was just what the doc ordered for DD...

I have a few things to show you today. These were all done yesterday, and I hope that I haven't missed any deadlines. I couldn't get them posted yesterday, and was busy all day today! Anyway, here goes!

**********
This first card is an adorable image by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. It was a free digital image that I grabbed (yup Cat, another one!), and I used the S&S Sketch to create this card. The sketch had a spin...we had to use any shade of red, black, and tan. So, I jumped into my 'stash' of scraps, and found enough of all three colors to get this card made! I think this image is adorable, and I like the way the card turned out!

Recipe: Lots of scrap papers, a scrap of ribbon, Nesties, Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi and Bashful Blue, Kooh-I-Noor Colored Pencils, and Black Tombow Marker.

Moving right along, there was a sketch challenge at Inspirational Card Sketches this week. I followed the sketch and made the following card. I am also submitting my card to the following challenges:

Stamp Challenges: Use my favorite colors

The Secret Crafter: One for the girls (girly card) (I think I missed the deadline on this one :(

Recipe: Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay CS, Ribbon, and Ink, Misc. DP and lace from stash.

Last, I have another fabulous sketch from Cindy Hafner. This sketch was the challenge at Farm Fresh Friday. For this card, I chose to use some DP's by Best Creation, and the Snow Anya from the Rain, Snow, Shine set. A dear friend (you know who you are!) sent me this set as a gift, and I just love inking up these darling images! The black CS at the bottom of the card is two sided, and the cut out pieces around Anya are cut out of the front side of the card. The black that Anya is mounted on is actually a printed CS with the circles and stars on it. I just cut out some MORE circles and stars, and popped them up on the DP. They are all glittered! Anya was colored with my colored pencils also.

Recipe: DP by Best Creations, Anya Stamp from The Greeting Farm, White Fun Flock, Fabric trim by We R Memory Keepers.

Well, dear friends, it's been a long day, and I'm tired. Off to get a bit of rest! Hope that you all have a blessed weekend, and that our Redbirds win tonight!!! (Sorry Caryl!)

BOO!

I'll bet that you are surprised to see me! I am finally out of hiding. It was a very hectic week and weekend, so today, I went to stamp club (thanks JoAnn for a great project!), got home about 4:00, and have been in my girl cave since!

I'm not sure that I'll ever be able to catch up the challenges that I'm behind on, but you can bet that I'm working hard to try to get them done!

First I have a card for the ABC Challenge. The letter is "C", and we are to make a card with circles. I chose to go with a Halloween card. I stamped my "BOO" letters on black circles with white ink, and then covered them with a clear acrylic circle.

Supplies: DP: Best Creation, Inc., TAC Playful Bet Letters, Jewelry Braiding Cord

For Barb's Macabre Monday Challenge, I offer the following card...

This week's challenge is to use a ghastly little poem or rhyme in your creepy creation. I tried to zoom in to my poem from Macbeth, but I think I only succeeded in crossing everyone's eyes!!!

Supplies: D CS is by Pink Paislee, Sentiment computer generated

For day 188 at 365 Cards, the challenge was "Touchy Feely Friday". We were to add flock, felt, etc., to our cards to make them 'touchy feely'!!! My lil' gal has a fluffy black flock boa! The card is also based on glitter stock, so that's also a 'feely' paper! I covered the white foam flower with glossy accents, so it looks pretty cute IRL.

Supplies: Black Fun Flock, TAC Tickled Pink Image, Tombow Markers, Gelly Roll Glitter Pen, Dazzles flower by Petaloo, Glitter CS by Best Creations, White foam flower from Michael's, Glossy Accents

*****

Day 187 at 365 Cards had a theme of: "Label It". I dug into my old, old, stash, and found a label! The challenge at Pile it On, was Happy Birthday plus one other challenge.

Supplies: Label from stash, DCWV Old World Mat Stack CS, Hero Arts Sentiment, Sara Beise Cupcake.

*****

"Feeling Blue" was the theme for day 185 at 365 Cards. We were to include three shades of blue - done! All supplies were scraps and miscellaneous from my stash or Shirley's! Sentiment is Inkadinkado, and was stamped with Stampin' Up Whisper White.

Hope that you all have a great night. Get some rest!

Thanks for stopping by to look!

That Tickles Me...

Today's challenge over at 365 Cards, is to make a silly, or funny card, one that 'tickles'.
This stamp is one that I don't get to use very often, so I couldn't resist. And, be honest, dear friends, haven't you even just once or twice wanted SO badly to mutter this sentiment (Put your big girl panties on and deal with it) to someone???

Anyway, this little stamp definitely tickles me!
Stamp: Stamps Happen
Ink: Versafine, Black
DP: Best Creation
CS: DCWV
Flower: Dazzlers by Petaloo
Another thing that tickles me is my blogging friend, Georgia, over at Gram's Place. Georgia sets her OWN challenges, and succeeds at them all! Her blog is so bright and cheery and fun - if you haven't been over to see her, please drop by. Sign up to follow while you are there - she is one very nice, and very fun lady! You will enjoy her blog!

DD was stung badly by something last night. She is pretty highly allergic, and we had several pretty frightening hours. I stayed up until a little after 3 a.m., and got back up with her around six, and she seemed like she was doing fairly well. She had to go on into work today, so I'll be curious to see how she is after a 12 hour manager on duty shift. A few hundred more grey hairs for mom!

Okay, I have procrastinated long enough. I'm off to my ladder to do some painting! I'll try to have something new for tomorrow! I've been working on a swap, and could post it, but then Chelsea and Suzanne wouldn't be surprised!!!

Take care, everyone!

Hello...

Hello! This is a card that I made for the Mojo Monday 84 Challenge. The challenge was to use this sketch, and that you could flip, rotate, etc. Well, being the troublemaker that I am, I flipped it totally upside down and worked from the sketch from the back side of the page! Here is what I came up with:

The DP is this great glittered two sided paper from Best Creation, Inc. Isn't it beautiful??? The stamp is from a cute set "Fluffy Friends" by TAC. I did the coloring with Tombow markers and Glaze Gelly Roll pens. I guess that fun wins over pretty with me this week! lol!
Have a great Sunday!

Happy Tuesday...

Ugh....it's Tuesday. Tuesday's have been known at my workplace as THE day to be anyplace else. They have always just been plain old icky days. If my friend Tami is reading, she is probably smiling right now and saying "yup"! (miss you chatdumpgirl!).

So...before you read any further... I could say that my title is an April Fool's Day joke, or that I did it on purpose to see if anyone is paying attention and really READING this blog, but that would be pretty far from the truth. The real truth is that I thought today was Tuesday, silly me. Our daughter, who is 28, and VERY intelligent, has moved back home just in time to rescue me from the calendar monsters, and set me straight on the date! So...without further ado....

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!!

I have a couple of cards to post today that I did for a challenge. For the life of me, I can't get the sketch photo to transfer to my blog, so you will have to look at both of my cards and used your imagination! It's the the Saturday Sketch Challenge over at Paper Craft Planet. I did two using the same sketch to show you how differently they can look. Hope you like them!

I also wanted to let you know about Korin's birthday. She's giving away a wonderful HUGE assortment of things in honor of her birthday and she's spreading it out over the month of April.
Head over to her blog and sign up to win! http://www.inkydoodleblogspot.com/
Card one details: DCWV Pink c.s., Best Creation, Inc. DP, Best Creation Inc. Pink Glitter c.s., EK Success Bubble Punch, Inkadinkado Stamp, Color Box Pink Pastel Chalk Ink, Black Staz-On Ink, Sharpies
Card two details: The Robin's Nest Striped Lavendar c.s., Inkadinkado Stamp, Pearl Brads (source unknown).
Must go to my 'pay for my toys' J.O.B. Have a great day - see you later!
