Dance with the Waves

Hello there!

Today, I'm sharing another pretty card that I made with a new Technique Junkies stamp, Dance with the Waves, from the June release at Technique Junkies. This is such a beautiful sentiment, that I kept this card simple.

This is a bitter-sweet day for me. I have stepped down from the Technique Junkies Design Team, due to lots of things going on at home. This will be my last post for TJ. However, you'll still see me, as I plan to spend some time using products that have never seen ink!  To Pat and Mark Huntoon, THANK YOU!  I wish you'd invited me to the team sooner, so I could have loved you and your products longer!  You have been a joy to work for, and had so much patience with me as I learned to step outside of my box!

Without further ado...Here's what I made:

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock with a Kaleidacolor ink pad (remember them?), and matted with purple cardstock. This panel was adhered to a beautiful card base from my stash, with pop dots. Easy peasy!

Don't forget!!! You can save 10% (on any order that isn't already discounted), by entering TJ10Patti at checkout!

Be sure to head over to the Technique Junkies store and do a little crafty shopping!

Hugs and smiles,

Waves of Grief

Hello there!

Today, I'm sharing a pretty card that I made with a new TJ stamp, Waves of Grief, from the June release at Technique Junkies. This is a beautiful sentiment, so I kept this card simple.

Here's what I made:

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of white cardstock with black ink, and matted with purple, then gold cardstock. This panel was adhered to a beautiful card base. Easy peasy!

Don't forget!!! You can save 10% (on any order that isn't already discounted), by entering TJ10Patti at checkout!

Let's Go to the Hop!

Hello!

It's Release day at Technique Junkies! We have some great new stamps for you, and all of them are 15% off through Nov. 8th! No codes are needed, just put them in your shopping cart and the discount will be applied at checkout.

There is an awesome Gotta Have it All Bundle, and a little preview of the new stamps!

Wow! The holidays are fast approaching, and what better time to be creating?

I chose today, to use the beautiful Forest Buffalo for my card. The sentiment is also from a new set, called Four Little Sentiments. This set has Just Because, Miss You, Thinking of You, and Hello. These are much used sentiments in my creations, and I was thrilled when this set came out. AND....it sells for a mere $3.95!!!

To create my card, I created an alcohol ink background on Yupo paper. The image was then stamped with Catherine Pooler's Midnight ink. This is the juiciest, most amazing ink! I let it dry for a while, and then took a paper towel, and laid it on the image, and ran my fingers gently across the image, to pick up any excess ink. I set the panel aside to finish drying overnight, then mounted it onto a card base. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of the card base color and adhered to the front of the card.

I hope you like these fun new release items, and can't wait for you to see the rest of this release!

A few more never seen items...

Happy Saturday!

Here are a few more items that have never seen blogland!

Give me a shout if you have questions, otherwise, enjoy!

First, this is a rack that my BFF Shirley's hubby built to hold my wooden stamps (well half of them, anyway)!  I love having them where I can see them, but use wooden stamps so seldom anymore. The rack is fabulous, and Wayne did a wonderful job.

Another effort using Yupo Paper, Alcohol Inks, and Alcohol Lift-Off Ink Pad

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello out there!

Hi there!

Haven't been here for a while, so I thought I'd do a few posts this week of just plain old 'catch-up'! I'm thinking that I'll just post some things that I've made, but have never made it to my blog. If you have questions, let me know! Otherwise, I'm going to just post lots of things with very few words.

Thanks for stopping by!

My first attempt with Alcohol Ink Lift Off!

I'll stop here for now....see you soon!!!

April Workshop

Howdy friends!

My bestie, Shirley, and I just finished our April 28th workshop. The way we work, we split the group in half. Half of the group will start with her, and the other half will start with me. When done, we swap groups, and go again.

I hate to admit that things were so busy that day, I didn't even see what she had her group create!  But....I thought I'd share what my projects were.

Most of these ladies are beginning stampers, so our projects have to be fairly easy to accomplish, and something they can have a good time creating.  It's always fun to bring back some older techniques, like...

Alcohol Inks

Shaving Cream Technique

A little sponging and learning to use Glossy Accents

And of course, our participants always get a freebie or three to say thanks for coming!
Here's what I made for them:

Ha ha...Ghirardelli! Because one cannot create without chocolate!

Side view - holds a snack size Kit Kat bar because one cannot create without chocolate!

This one holds a single nugget, because one cannot create without chocolate!

Hopefully Shirley will post her projects as well!!!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Take care!
Patti J.

Christmas in August...

The challenge at Our Creative Corner this week is: Christmas in August! Well, thanks to OCC, I now have my first Christmas Card finished! Woot Woot!

The photograper (me...) didn't do a very good job - it was hard to photograph, with the gold glossy cs reflecting. This was actually done without a flash, but the ceiling lights were reflecting!

DCWV CS, DP's were scraps, used alcohol inks...Staz on ink, misc. gold strings and fibers. Stamp unknown.

Hope you like it!

Shopping is for the Brave!

Wow - it's almost time to go back to work already!

I was home sick on Friday, which actually gave me what one could call a four day weekend!

On Saturday, my handsome man took me into the city for dinner out and a shopping trip (cut short!).

Let me tell you about our shopping trip! Stan the man always stays at Borders and sips coffee, watches the babies (babes?), and reads anything he can find on wars, presidents, government, etc.

So, I go off through the mall thinking that most certainly I can make a couple of returns, and find just one item - a coat for this time of year. Sigh... I am certain that one must buy coats when one should be buying swimwear, and swimwear when one wants a coat! Lol...long story short - no coat.

I return to Borders to look for manley Stanley, and walk thru the store about 100 feet. I don't see him, so I turn right, which would take me to the history, war, president, government sections. B A M ! ! ! The second I turned right, there was a rolling stool left in front of me. Someone had apparently used it to reach a higher item, and had not returned it to it's home. Of course, I am looking UP, trying to see my main man's cute beard, not his shoestrings, and down I go, tangling myself up in stool, shelving, and a poor lady probably 10 years my senior. Thank goodness she was there - she broke my fall, sort of catching me as I went down. Otherwise, I would have had shelf imprints on my cheekbones and nose. As it was, my legs were all that was beat up (and my poor already operated on shoulder was very very sore yesterday). I was instantly multicolored - black, blue, and red. The lady called for help, telling me to lie still (as if I could do anything else???) lol. A manager came over and said, "what did you do, honey (grrr), get dizzy or something"? Well, my DD and I sort of have a thing about people calling us honey! Before I could answer, the other lady (my guardian angel) very loudly says "NO she did NOT get dizzy - she walked around the corner and fell over your crap - you have crap everywhere in this store!

Anyway, long story short again, Borders wanted to call an ambulance. I settled for eventually getting on my feet and walking out, but only after they insisted I fill out an incident report. My shopping was not as much fun as my dinner was!

We met my sister Judy and her handsome man Bill for dinner. We got to Red Lobster at about 3:45, thinking that would be very early and we would beat the crowds...not. One and one half hour wait. So...we piled into their car and found a very beautiful old Italian place to have dinner. For a while there was only one other couple there. Dinner was delightful!

Anyway, as I recouperated yesterday, I worked up some cards for a swap. This is to be a "Technique" swap, we're to use our favorite technique. I reverted to alcohol inks - God Bless Tim Hotz - he just gives us all kinds of fun things to play with! The stamps are all from The Angel Company. I have created my cards, now I just need to create my 'recipe' and get it to the hostess!

Have a great week! Patti J.
