Good morning! If you are like me, you like music. ALL music! On any given day, I have music playing while I work. My taste goes from hymns and gospel, to Aerosmith, and everything in between! So, when the February new release at the Die-Versions store was 'The Musical', I couldn't wait to get my happy mail! Here's the first card that I created with one of my new dies:
This card uses the Die-Versions Whispers "Rosy Music" #DVW-327. I had seen 'piano' cards in the past, and thought it would be a great way to showcase this beautiful die.
To make this card, I just cut strips of white and black cardstock. I outlined the white strips with a gray Copic marker to give them some depth (too much, actually!), and just adhered them to my card base. Added the black strips and a ribbon (left over from our daughter and son-in-laws reception last year) and voila! What fun. Since I'm a Chemo Angel/Senior Angel, I use a LOT of Thinking of You cards, so the sentiment was not difficult to decide on.
This next card was fun, too! So often, we get these border dies, and use them only at the very top of a page. I recalled this fun row of spring flowers and sentiment from DoodlePantry.com, and thought that this die (Die-Versions DVW-335 "Music Waterfall")would be a perfect division between the image and the sentiment.
Of course, I used my Perfect Papercrafting Tools for the great mat! Notice that I used two sizes!!!
I think this card will certainly brighten someones day, and I'm sure we are all ready to sing those songs of spring!

The flowers are pre-colored - the only addition is a touch of glossy accents on the orange flowers. I think you can see the shine if you enlarge the photo. |

I hope you'll check out the Die-Versions blog for more beautiful samples using the February release dies!
We'd also love it if you would 'like' us on Facebook!

Thanks for stopping by,

The music theme makes pretty cards! I like the border cut underlining the flowers.
OMG - love these two cards - totally awesome and what a great thinking of you card to send to your buddy. Love the piano and the spring flowers were such a bright light this am, so ready to see some of those beautiful flowers here. IF no when you get off that hill I see "play" day in our plans.
Hi Patti, love your music cards, both of them. The piano is so clever and everyone is looking for a sign of Spring, so nice. Waiting for that post that says you are a Grammie....can't wait.

Very creative dies and you certainly know how to showcase them Patti.
Beautiful cards. Your piano card is the nicest one I've seen and it's all because of that awesome die you added. So beautiful.
What fantastic cards these are Patti!!! I'm absolutely in love with the piano card!!! Hugs kudos to you my friend!
both wonderful cards, Patti! I love the music and the new dies! hugs, Helena
Hi Patty, Loved both these very imaginative & cute cards. Loved the music one especially the way you did this one. Good idea on the use of the border die on #2. You're so right on that, and my imagination doesn't work as creatively as yours did on this one! On the stenciling bit, I tried my 1st Sat. night. Think I got the paste too thick, and the stencil was one of the new MB vines ones...probably too intricate for a 1st effort. I painted it last night with a brush, should have used a brayer I think. I'll probably share it, just to show 'what not to do'. I'll definitely try it again. TFS,stay safe & warm, and lots of hugs. Say Hey to Miss Shirley and hope she & DH are doing ok. Saw her FB post about her hubby.
I love both your cards, Patti! I think "Just a note" would work nicely as a sentiment, too. I need to keep your piano key technique in mind the next time I need a card like this. :)
Beautiful cards! Especially love your first card.
Two great cards. It is usually hard to pick a favorite, but I really, really, really like the piano card.
Oh Wow these are both so gorgeous Patti. I do love the flowers.
What an awesome card, Patti! I love anything that's piano-related (I studied piano for 25 years) so this card is at the top of my favorites! GREAT job!
Gorgeous cards, I like the black and white with just a bit of color!
Love the music theme and images... these would be perfect for my son's piano teacher.
I am so in love with both cards! Beautiful piano to show off the die cut and sentiment too! The flowers n your second card are gorgeous with the musical planter. How creative and I need the "Song of Spring" too.
I love these beautiful cards! My youngest daughter is a Director of Music and Band Director of Middle School children and she in in her community band and The Treasure Coast Orchestra. I am always on the look out for musical cards and they would be perfect for her!
