Hi ya'll, and Happiest of Tuesday's to you!
*
We have beautiful, white, fluffy snow on the ground today, and brrrr....it is COLD outside! Thankfully, I don't have to (couldn't even if I wanted to) go anyplace today!
*
So today's question comes from one of my readers.
She is curious as to what type of 'cutters' we all use. I am curious, as well!
*
I don't know about you, but over the years, I've had Creative Memories, Making Memories, Tonic, Fiskars, and even cheap plastic Office Max cutters...
*
How about you?
*
Leave a comment, telling us all what type of paper cutter you use for your projects,
and I will dig up another itty-bitty blog candy!!!
If you are one of my followers, I will enter your name twice.
*
Drop me an e-mail if you have any suggestions for questions in later blogs!!!
I'm having SO much fun, and learning a lot, reading all of your comments and suggestions!
*
Have a great day - back to my girl cave!

Well you know I would be here to add my opinion.
I also like you have tried many, many too many cutters.
I am using a fiskars right now but must admit I am not overly happy.
The cutting blade dulls to fast and isn't always straight.
Scissors are easier some times...lol
I used a Fiskars rotary cutter for many years but agree with the previous commenter that the blade doesn't always cut straight and it was a pain to have to remember to have extra blades on hand so you didn't get stuck with a dull blade right in the middle of a project. Right now I have the Tabletop Paper Cutter from Stampin' Up which I am loving as it will cut more than 1 sheet of cardstock at a time (great for 50+ Christmas cards!!), is self sharpening so no more buying blades. While it does take up a bit of space (but no more than my rotary Fiskars on) the extension leg does come off if you don't need it and it's very light weight if you need to move it. Hope that helps someone out!
I have two that I use. I have the mini slicer thingy from CM, and the Fiskers sliding cutter. As far as other types of cutting tools, I have the CM cutting system, a cricut, and some fancy scissors.
i have a fiskars. had it forever. easy to change the blade and it works great.
now if you ask about scissors.... i'm definitely KAI. they're the best.
we have the white stuff too but we can still the the tips of the grass. i can't wait for spring - lol.
thanks so much for your comment on my "possible" new store. so far everyone likes it.
hugs :)
Thanks for coming by to see me! On my way here I saw that you even have a furry "Flake"! You really do have flakes in abundance!
I use friskers as they work better than any other brand I've tried so far.
I now use the Fiskars cutter from Stampin' Up and have found it to be the best of the less expensive table cutters that I have tried. The blades( cutting and scoring ) are easy to change and it fits well on my table. I have tried a few but these blades while not perfect seem to be better than the others. I would like to try one of the tonic cutters but can't seem to put the money there to buy it when I could be using it for other goodies that I really "need". Take care Patti and so glad to able to visit again.
I have lots of cutters, fiskars and and fiskars from SU!, I have a small making memories trimmer that I could not live with out and my newest addition is the SU guillotine cutter. Love it too. I would really like to have a guillotine cutter that holds full 12 inch cardstock without an arm attachment! Will be interested in the answers you get to this question!
I've tried them all - well almost - from Carol Cutter, Fiskars, Tonic, Zutter, CM and I think my favorite is my Purple Cow - it has both a rotary and guillotine - full 12 in. cutting surface, I keep it out all the time. Got it very reasonable several years ago at Tuesday Mornings, (overstock retail store). I keep a tonic 12 in. trimmer on my work desk for trimming items but often it doesn't cut as straight as I think it should. I also love the Zutter Dream Cutter for cutting cs in 1/2.
Scissors! And a paper cutter by Xacto!
That's my 'CUT'lery of choice!
Ciao Bella!

Hi Patti - cutters - I use whatever is closes but love a rule one I picked up at KMart by Creativ8 - it is fabulous! {{{hugs}}}
I can't wait to see what people say because I haven't found one I love yet. I've had the fiskars one for years and just had to keep buying blades--it never cut well. I also have a Creative memories one, but it's the small size so it's not good for cutting down large cardstock. Yesterday I ordered the Stampin Up table top paper cutter so hopefully that will be the end of my paper cutting troubles!
You are aware of my recent rant about cutters! Enough said! Don't want my blood pressure to go up again. Best, Curt
Love my Fiskars! It has a "secret" compartment for that extra blade so I always have one when I need it! I've used my cutter for years, and love using the gap for scoring as well!
i've tried them all too and for me when I'm cutting large amounts of cardstock - it's the Carl's Cutter!! (Oozaks has the best price) and for my smaller cuts - cant beat the little trimmer blue box from CM....I used to use Fiskars but just didnt get reliable straight cuts, the guillotine cutters didnt always cut each piece the same - really love my Carl !!
hugs

Hi Patti, thank you so much hon for your awesome comment on my blog today! You are so kind. I am glad to see this question and will read all the posts cause I am in the market for a new cutter...I use the Memory Makers cutter...I am not real happy with it cause my blade is not sharp enough anymore and there is no replacement blade for that cutter...imagine my disappointment as the cutter is less than 2 years old! Called the compay, they were no help! I won't buy another!
HUGS!
Vicki
Like everyone else, I've tried em all, right now I have 2 out, Creative Memories and Fiskars.
I'm very opinionated about this as well, HA! Years ago I would watch my friends, always buying the latest and greatest cutters. My opinion is, if it's not broke, don't fix it. But I did, once, try another one. I quickly went back to my old reliable Fiskars.

The only thing that drives me crazy about these cutters is that the measuring strip is along the top! That doesn't even make sense. I like being able to look over the measurement peice of the cutter, in other words, I want it at the bottom and close to me. So I use mine upside down. I've been using it for YEARS, and it's never failed me. But seriously, somebody needs to get a clue and redesign one with the measurements along the bottom. If they do, I will consider switching! Let me know if you find one, since you are getting all the wonderful feedback!
I still use my trusty old Fiskars triple track. I throw that little bugger around my desk, and it just never quits. It always makes me feel good when I change the blade, and it keeps on ticking!!!! ^5 Melisa!
I use my cutter everyday! I teach a lot of classes so I cut a ton of paper, and for me I LOVE my Tonic 12" guillotine cutter. I have had it for 4 years and cut everything from chipboard to tissue, and it is still shape and working fabulous!!
I used to have a rotary trimmer, but chucked it as the blades blunt too quick, so now I've got a wee x-cut guillotene which I love as it cuts nice and straight and doesn't blunt at all - just wish I'd got the bigger size though!
Tonic guillotine and Fiskars.
What a wonderful question Patti. I think I have tried just about every type of cutter out there. Then just over a year ago I bought a tonic 12 inch cutter, the big one, and I love it. In fact I love it so much that a year ago I bought one for my Mom an Sister for Christmas and they love it to. I wish I had the money that I wasted on all of the cutters I have bought over the years.
This is so interesting. So, the biggest problem seems to be blades that dull to quickly, not cutting straight and poor markings for measurements. Yup, pretty well sums it up!
Now, we just need the manufacturers to listen and start creating! Anyone have an inside to a cutter manufacturer??? And we don't get Carl's or Tonic in our area so I can't try them out! :o(
Thanks for putting this one out there Patti!!! :o)
