Life is better...

Hello!

I'm back with another fall card.  This one was made using a Power Poppy digital stamp, Olive & Oak. If you've never shopped with them, you are missing out! Marcella is uber-talented, and her flowers are so lovely!

I'm entering this in the Creative Confetti challenge at Power Poppy, using a Power Poppy image with a 'spicy' theme.  I took a bit of liberty here, thinking that olives really spice things up, right?

Here's my card:

All coloring is done with Copic Markers. The shine on the acorns and olives is Glossy accents.

Thanks for stopping by today - it's great to be back!

Hugs,
Patti J.

Crafting with Friends...

Hello out there!

Did you think I had abandoned you all?
I hope and pray that you are all well, and enjoying this beautiful, crisp fall weather!

Whew....what a summer it was here!
Hoping the fall is a bit slower, giving me a bit of time in my craft cave.

A good friend, Sally McDonald, is a Stampin'Up! demonstrator. She has a 'Card and Cuppa' workshop at our local Panera's the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. She brings 'stuff', we eat and create, and have a fun hour or two of crafting with friends.

Here is the card that I made Tuesday at Sally's workshop:

This is a fun set - so versatile!

Have a great rest of the week - will try to be back tomorrow!

Hugs and blessings,

Patti J.

September Scor-Pal Challenge - More than one score and CAS!

Hi everyone!

Where did the summer go? Seems like it flew by, doesn't it?

It's time for a new monthly challenge on the Scor-Pal blog - 'CAS' (Clean and simple). Creations need to include more than one score line, and a 'CAS' theme.

I'm feeling a bit better, but just can't get with it some days. This CAS challenge was just what I needed this month. Between my illness, and our move from the country into the city, my mojo has been MIA!!!  Hopefully, by October, I'll be more creative!

Here is my project for today:

This sweet card will go to one of our church friends who is not feeling well.

For this project, I used my Scor-Pal Eighths, & 1/4" Scor-Tape.

Thanks for looking!

I hope to see your summer creations in our CAS Scor-Pal challenge!

We also have a ton of inspiration on our Projects on the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to help you get creative!Challenge at Scor-Pal!

Happy September everyone!

Treat Box Tutorial

Hello friends!

I'm back with a friendly reminder that you still have a couple of weeks to participate in the challenge this month at the Scor-Pal blog... you could be our monthly winner!

This month, the challenge is 'The Heat of Summer'. As always, you must include more than one score, and follow along with our fun theme. Be sure to check out the blog to see what our talented Design Team members have shared!

My project this month was very simple. Most of you know that I've had a wicked 'bug' since the end of June. I'm beginning to feel human again, but now we are in the middle of a MOVE!  Moving is not for sissies, and move is definitely a four letter word...lol.  We've been in our beautiful home on our beautiful hillside for over 32 years. We've accumulated a lot of stuff...

Anyway!  Here's what I created for the challenge:

And here is how I did it!

You need two pieces of cardstock.

Outside Cover = 3.25” x 11”
Score with long side at top of your score board at 5.75” and 6.25”
Decorate front as desired.

Inside ‘Box’ = 3.25” x 5”
Score on all four sides at 1”
On two long sides, cut on score lines, cutting in only to the fold line.
Angle cut your box ‘tabs’ for a smoother fit.
Assemble box, adhere to bottom of cover, and fill with goodies!
Punch hole(s) in top as desired for closure.
(My punches are all packed, so I grabbed a ribbon scrap and stapled this sample closed)

For this project, I used my Scor-Pal Eighths, & 1/2" Scor-Tape.

Thanks for looking!

I hope to see your summer creations in our Heat of Summer Scor-Pal challenge!

We also have a ton of inspiration on our Projects on the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to help you get creative!Challenge at Scor-Pal!

Happy June!

Scor-Pal - The Heat of Summer Challenge

Hi everyone!

It's summer in Missouri. Hot and humid, but...That's okay with me, as I'm always cold!

It's time for a new challenge on the Scor-Pal blog - 'The Heat of Summer'. Creations need to include more than one fold, and 'The Heat of Summer' theme.

As you know, I've been a bit 'under the weather', so my creativity for today had to be something easy peasy!

Here is my project for today:

This cute little box is holding life saver candies! Pretty cute, right?
I'm hoping the recipient will like it!

If you check back here on the 15th, I'll show you how to make these!

For this project, I used my Scor-Pal Eighths, & 1/2" Scor-Tape.

Thanks for looking!

I hope to see your summer creations in our Heat of Summer Scor-Pal challenge!

Hello, and an update!

Hello out there!

Just thought I'd pass along an update on things here in our crazy world...

Have had chest x-rays two weeks in a row, and still have active pneumonia in both lungs. However, the bloodwork looks like there is nothing left in bloodstream or urine, so there is a bit of improvement.  I can definitely do more than a month ago, but still tire quickly.

In the midst of this crazy illness, the packing has begun, slowly but surely. I get to a few things each day, and we hope to be able to send a load of non-necessary items over to the new house on Thursday, via our movers.

Hopefully, things will be back to normal in a few weeks, and I'll feel like creating again!

Thanks for the cards, emails, and texts from local peeps - it's so nice to have so many great friends!!!

Hugs and smiles,

Patti J.

Taking a break...

Wow!

A lot has happened since I last posted.

We bought a home in town, after being in our beautiful country home for 32 years. This brought mountains of paperwork, as you can imagine.

Then, I spent some time in the hospital with a strange form of pneumonia. I'm still very weak. If I get through one small task, I have to take a nap.

We will close on the new home on the 12th. The work begins on the new home, getting it ready to move into. Once that's done, clean up and repairs begin on our country home.

Anyway, I will probably be popping in and out from time to time, but first priority for me is getting my health back. I was apparently a very sick gal.

I will, of course try to keep up with my Scor-Pal requirements after June!

Time for a nap!

Hugs to you all,

Patti J.
