Take it One Pound at a Time!

Happy Saturday!

It seems like just about anyplace I see on the weather maps are showing above average temps for January.  Hopefully, you are enjoying some time outdoors!

Many of the blogs I have visited are talking about losing those extra 'holiday pounds"!

Well, folks, Laurie's little Workout Birdies from Doodle Pantry have some great advice for us all!  They say to take it one pound at a time!  Good advice, right?  I couldn't wait to work with these sweet birds!

However, working with ANYthing since 12-29 has been a real challenge.  Some of you may remember me being down with a 'sprained ankle' last July.  Well, I somehow managed to re-injure this ankle, and have been iced and elevated for days!  The majority of my crafting is being done from the recliner chair, which makes working with these darling birds even MORE fun!

Image, Sentiments, and DP are all from the Workout Birdie Set at Doodle Pantry

I used the pre-colored image, so it was literally a matter of getting everything lined up on my screen, and pushing print (I have a wireless printer).  I trimmed the white piece to actually fit over the card itself.  I didn't stay on my feet long enough to photograph the back, but the white piece overhangs the back by about 1.5" and has a cute border punched on the bottom edge.  See?  Doodle Pantry provides safe, armchair crafting!

How would you like to get this set.........for FREE???  Just enter a card/project in the challenge at Doodle Pantry Blog, using any Doodle Pantry image.  Laurie will e-mail you the set free!  You can find all the details here! If you don't have any DP images, there is a link on the store page where you can go to get Freebie images to enter with!  See you at the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today, and for being so patient with my posting (or lack of!).  I have an MRI scheduled for next Friday, and an appt. with an Orthopedic Surgeon the following Tues.  My doc is suspecting a torn Achille's Tendon, rather than a sprain.  I'll keep you all posted.  In the meantime, Happy Stamping!!!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Food for thought:  A true friend is one who never gets in your way....unless you happen to be going down!

Oh Patti, so sorry about your ankle - talk about a forced vacation! My knees are actually doing good right now, don't know why but I'm enjoying it while I can. Let me know if need anything, I have 101 sick days so I could afford a day off! Had a fabulous time with Kim. So good to get out of town!

This is such a great inspirational card. Although I'm still waiting for the "magic pill" that takes off pounds without any sacrifice. Your card would inspire anyone to work hard to reach that ultimate goal. Great job my dear!

Oh Patti, I'm so sorry to hear you've re-injured your ankle. Please try to be more careful and take good care, my friend!!! I'm praying you're not in much pain.

Yes, the weather here too in Chicago is quite nice -- in the 50's the last couple days; isn't that surprising for January!!! A bit scary though. I'm appreciating it now but terrified as to what will follow all this good fortune...lol!!!

I love your adorable card. It's so cute and sooo funny with those little birdies just exercising away with their little barbells! LOL! Too cute!

Now, relax and get all better!

Patti, this is such bad news for you, I hope it isn't torn...saying a prayer for you. I know it is frustrating to be stuck when you want to be up doing other things. Take care of yourself and pat yourself on the back for such a great card...I need to be working out and this set just keeps making me feel guilty, lol.
love and hugs....

There can be no good thing about tearing a body part ... EXCEPT, now you have the perfect excuse for not being able to exercise and work off those holiday pounds. Hmmm ... crafting from a recliner ... sounds like a great way to spend a day. Anyway, I DO hope your ankle will heal fast.

Your card is adorable and I too have started to use some precoloured digital images and am actually liking the results.

Take care of yourself and get that ankle healed! I know it must be frustrating not to be able to move about freely, but whatever it takes!

How cute - love the bakers twine at the top and will see the back IRL soon (I hope). I just made 2 cards with these darling birds so we can "share" ideas. I am thinking I need to bring lunch out sometime later this week.

Ouch, poor you, your ankle sounds very painful! Hope the Dr gives you good news, but stick to your crafting chair for the time being!
Gorgeous card, those little birdies are so cute - I'm taking things one pound at a time too (though at Christmas there was an extra one or two went on instead of off Oops!)

Cute, cute card! Hope your ankle heals quickly. I still have problems with my ankle that I sprained YEARS ago, so take it easy and let it heal completely. :-)

Patti, gorgeous card and beautiful coloring. Not sure what you mean by pre-colored, is that a on-line program? Good luck on your ankle, hope it heals quickly.

Patti, I found out at the Doodle Pantry. Having a dud moment. LOL

I hope you are soon up and running again! It's no fun to sprain an ankle... Your card is adorable!!! I love using the pre-colored images too when time is a constraint or I just don't have the "mojo" to color.
Hugs,
Georgia
