Ironman, etc......

Happy Saturday!

Hope that your weekend is off to a nice start.

I'd love for you to send up a few well wishes or prayers for our daughter's fiance, his dad, and her soon to be brother-in-law.  They are preparing to do an ironman tomorrow in Arizona.  Ugh!  I think that's a 2.5 mile swim, followed by something like a 112 mile bike ride, followed by a full marathon.  Did I mention Ugh?  Anyway, we'll be cheering them on from Farmington!

So...I'm pretty sure you are all on the edge of your seats, waiting to hear what the 'etc.' is!  I won't keep you in suspense.  Last night, grandson doggie, and little Sophie doggie decided to take on a skunk.  I'm quite certain that you have, by now, figured out the rest of the story.  Again, did I mention Ugh?  Oh my goodness.  It wasn't bad enough that they stunk, but they came inside before we realized that they had battled the stinky critter, and now it stinks in the house too!  And...if that wasn't bad enough, Sophie had the 'sickies' afterwards, and THAT stank worse than the skunk smell.  Bless her heart, she was a sick little gal last night.

I have a couple of quick projects to show you today.

First, using the pre-colored Doodle Pantry set, "12 Days of Christmas Mini's", and a very sparkly red wreath that was hiding at one of the dollar stores, here is my creation:

This set is so versatile!

Next, I have a little something I made up with some felt scraps.  If DD likes it, it will travel to Colorado next week.  If she doesn't, I'm not sure what I'll do with it!  Pretty self explanatory....made three of the little felt flowers, die cut a couple of Spellbinder leaves, put them all together, put a back on them, and then a pin back (not pictured).

I have an Itty Bitty Blog Candy for someone!
I was lucky enough to have something in the last Scrap and Stamp Arts magazine, so they sent me a free copy.  However, since I subscribe, I now have two copies!  Time to share the wealth!

No hoops to jump through - if you'd like the extra copy, just leave me a comment telling me that you'd like to have it.  I'll draw one name on Monday, from the comments left on today's post, and send the magazine out on Tuesday!

I'm off now, to do a few household chores.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope to see you tomorrow!  I have a few projects using Inspired Stamps to show you :)

Have a great evening - hugs and smiles,
Patti J.

Food for thought:
Your #1 competitor is seen every morning, looking back at you from your bathroom mirror!

Patti, I love your wreath and felt flower -- both are so very pretty! You always do wonderful work!

I know I shouldn't laugh but the skunk incident is so funny! It reminds me while visiting my hubby's uncle last summer, he and his uncle were trying to run out a skunk who happened through an open door into the kitchen... yes, trying to coax him back out, hubby and his uncle got sprayed! Still isn't funny to my husband and he hates when I tell the story, but It's still hilarious to me and I have so much fun with him telling it. Unfortunately, the smell was still in the house when his aunt and I returned, although they'd finally gotten the critter out and had cleaned up as best they could.

Patti, you make it sound as if it's nothing having a project in a magazine -- that's wonderful!!! I'd love to see it!!! One of these days when I'm a big girl someone might ask to publish me!!!

I hope little Sophie is feeling better now, and I'll send up some knee-mails for your daughter's fiance and his family for their safety and success the ironman.

Hugs, my wonderful family-friend!

Ewww Skunk smell! I feel your pain. I have not had that experience but I fear for it with a house of cats that like to roam in the woods and yes a skunk that does come by for cat food dinners now and then. Your wreath is beautiful and the flowers very lovely! I like them!! And I would LOVE a copy of the magazine if I should be so lucky. Have not seen that publication. Thanks! And I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. ~Sandy T.

Oh my, you have been busy! Hope the poor little pooch is feeling better today. Some doggies just never learn! Hopefully it won't give you a headache as well.
LOVE your sweet little flower corsage. The colours are so soft and gentle. Very clever.
Your shiny red wreath is so festive and fun. It's always fun to find something strange at a $store and alter it to look like something great!
Thanks for sharing and hope the Ironmen all fare well! :)

I hope your sweet dog is recuperating from her trama with the skunk. My dog got skunked and we let her in the house not realizing until she ran in...My sons started vomiting because she (the dog) had got sprayed by a momma and her 3 babies who were traveling through our yard! My hsband took her upstairs to the main family bathroom to wash her in the tub...big mistake! That bathroom was the center of "he double l" for about a month afterwards! lol!
Your flower corsage is very pretty too!
I would love your extra copy of the magazine... What did you have featured in it?
Hugs,
Georgia
PS good luck to the "Ironman" challengers!

Will certainly be wishing the future in-laws well and saying a prayer for their safety Patti. My Grandson and Son-in Law have done these events and I know how difficult they are. My Eldest Grandson has just climbed the 3 peaks in 24hrs challenge, 1 peak in England.1 in Wales & 1 in Scotland....travelling from one to the other between climbs....stupid! This Grandma doesn't agree with this particular challenge one bit :(( xx
Love your creations Patti, the flowers are so pretty xx hope poor Sophie is soon feeling better xx

Oh your poor baby-how awful to tangle with a stinker. I would be sick if I did I know I would.
I still have nightmares of being at my inlaws when there chi chi barked at one just as they opened the door and it sprayed into the house. What a fun holiday that was!!!
Sending prayers and good wishes for the family to survive the iron man competition
Sending hugs my friend.
Thanks for the sweet comment on my publication.

OMG, did you bathe them in tomato juice??? LOL I heard that's about the only thing that will get rid of the smell. Poor Sophie, bet she doesn't get close to another one. Love the wreath Patti and your daughter will love the pin. Have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving. "Hugs"

I used to jog 5 miles 3 times a week, so I kind of get their hype, but not totally. :-)

I hear you on the skunks. I am allergic to animals period now and so I am jealous, even of this. LOLOL Miss my dogs.

Love your wreath and how clever with the flowers too!!

Oh poor doggies! Poor you! I've heard all sorts of things that are supposed to work, but personally never found one that really did. Ironman, huh? Makes me tired to just read about it. If I tried that I'd need more than just good thoughts!
You throw off...oh got published again...like it's nothing. It's BIG! Congrats!! I'd love to have your extra copy to check out your piece. Thanks for the chance.
