My favorite tradition was Christmas Eve dinner at my home with all the family, followed by Christmas Carolers outside, then attending Mass at midnight, next morning watching the Christmas specials on TV with the kids as they open their gifts. Now my daughter is carrying on the tradition with her kids.

Itty Bitty Blog Candy Blogaverary Winner!

October 2nd was my 8th Blogaversary!

Just want to wish you all a very happy Independence Day!

Look What I Won!

Hello, and Happy Saturday!

I wanted to jump on here for a moment today to say a huge THANK YOU to a new blogging friend. A few weeks ago, I clicked the follow button on a fun, and pretty new blog.  Shortly after clicking that follow button, Brenda Frame, my new friend, had a blog candy, and guess who won?  Yup, the title gave it away, didn't it?  I did!  It was hard not to happy dance in the post office this morning, when I saw this fabulous Memory Box die!

It's Hump Day!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

I'm here today to post another card as Guest Designer for Doodle Pantry.  Today, I'm showcasing this new release with camel and sentiments.  Oh my, what fun it was to try to wrap my brain around a camel! This is honestly the first one that I've created with, and it was so much fun!

This photo shows the full card front.  I 'sent' the images to my word program, arranged them as you see them, and printed.  Dotted with a sharp tip marker, added a button, and voila.....  OH WAIT!  There was just one more fun thing...read below to find out what this fellow can do!

I added one of those fun wobble action things that I picked up at a LSS in Kimmswick, Mo., The Stamp Pad. In this photo, I 'boinged' him, so you see him in action.  In the following two photos, I just held his little head in each direction to give you a better idea of the wobble concept.

This is another pre-colored image from Doodle Pantry, which makes it so easy to get a last minute card put together.  The designer papers on the background are also included in this set!  Head on over to Doodle Pantry and check out the rest of the September releases - you won't be disappointed!

A Ladies Diary

Hello, and Happy Weekend! 

It's my day to post for Scraptownlady, and I've chosen to use some of the beautiful collection from Graphic 45, "A Ladies Diary".  This card was SO easy - just some cutting, matting, fussy cutting, and voila!

This is the card front. Even the lace trim is G45 Patterned Paper!

This is the inside - I used another G45  Patterned Paper that is Kraft on the back side for my focal panel. The large rose was fussy cut from a sheet of the "A Ladies Diary" Collection, and glued down.

Woo hoo - Happy Monday!

Brrr.....a touch of winter in the air here in Missouri - something like 34 degrees early this morning.

I have a randomly chosen winner for my bloggie birthday itty bitty candy prize, but...

 I'm going to torture you all, and post a blog first!

The last Monday in September was a Girl's Day Out for me, and my friends, Shirley and Donna. It was a Girl's Day In for Donna's mom, Marion, who hosted us all for a day of fun, crafts, and lunch!

Here's what we made:

This was Marion's card.  What a beautiful technique!  I couldn't get the photo to clear up - so sorry!  Marion's project was fun, and very CAS.  The bling is there because my big fingers made some big splotchies!  lol.  We actually heat embossed the image in white, and colored the embossing with Copic Markers!  Cool, huh?

 

Shirley brought this fabulous idea!  I think we've all experimented with this a bit, but OMG, is it not so gorgeous with the leaves done in Autumn color Kaleidacolor pad?  Wowza!

This CAS project was what I contributed.  I'd seen this two-step stamping technique at Stamp, Embellish and Create, and had to give it a try.  Again, the photo doesn't show the true colors.  What you do, is stamp the first time with the BACK side of a clear stamp with a color.  We used pink, orange, and green.  After stamping all of the backs, we cleaned the stamp, turned it over, and used the FRONT side to stamp in black.  Way cool technique! 

Last, but absolutely not least, is Donna's project.  WOW!  This was such a fun card to make!  Those little flowers are on wires!  They just wiggle so sweetly!  You can't see it, but there is a wee easel on the back, to help this card stand up.  I think she said the template for this is on one of the Fancy Folds CD's from Technique Junkies.

Marion, thank you SO much for such a wonderful day. I enjoyed meeting your handsome man, and visiting with you both.  It's always fun to get together!  Thanks for your hospitality.

What else?

Hmmmm.....must torture you a bit more...

DD and her mom-in-law, dad-in-law, sis-in-law, and SIL's DH, all hiked the Grand Canyon, rim to rim on Saturday.  It was a bit over 26 miles, and they hiked it in ONE day!  Holy cow, I'm hurting just thinking about it!  This is one very healthy, and amazing family.  All of them, parents included, do at least some of the following:  half-marathons, full marathons, triathalons, Ironmen, century bike rides, etc.  Obviously, DD is in much better shape than is her momma!  lol...  Kudos to them all - what an accomplishment, and a pleasure to spend the day in all of God's splendor!!!

Four Score and Seven Years Ago....

No, wait - that's another story!

THREE YEARS ago, I began my blogging adventures.  It started out with DS, DD, and BF Tami reading.  For many entries, I got anywhere from 0-2 comments each day.  I actually started this blog to let the kids and our friends know how our bathroom remodeling was going.  My friend Tami, and DD, both said, "you should start putting your paper crafts on your blog". 

Once I began posting cards, my very first 'real' reader was someone in the blogging world that is very 'famous' now - Theresa Momber, who designs for Gina K. Designs.  Theresa is very busy these days, but I still feel that I can go to her anytime with questions, and she's always there. She encouraged me to enter my very first challenge, and I can still remember my hand shaking when I submitted to the first one!  Feels rather silly now, but it was pretty frightening to jump in with both feet!

The rest is history....blogging is something that I do for fun.  I have been blessed with so many on-line friends!  It's crazy, the deep friendships that I have built with some of you!  I feel like I could land almost anyplace and find someone to crash with for a night, or craft with for a day.  Some of you I actually have met in real life, and it's been delightful!

Shirley, one of the best friends that I've ever known, and I, have so much fun at this little hobby of ours!  She was devastated when TAC hung up their wings, and is now giving A-Muse a try, so I'm looking forward to some 'amusing' stamping adventures in the near future!  (Beginning today, actually, as she is on her way over with some new stamps!)

Anyway, I guess I'm trying to just say thank you to all of you who have been such great readers and friends. I've enjoyed getting to know you, reading about your families, laughing with you, crying with you, and drooling over your beautiful creations!!!

I have a very quick card for the Wednesday challenge at All That Scraps.
The challenge calls for earth tones: moss green, blue, and browns, and an image that can be purchased at All That Scraps.

I chose to use one of my newest stamps - She's Abigail, and she is a C.C. Designs, Sweet Pixies stamp.
She's got her little suitcase, and she's missing someone special.
Hmmmm....maybe it's DD missing DM??? lol...
Didn't have much time today, so made a CAS card.
All coloring is done with Copics.
The DP is from a new Prima paper pad that I ordered from Joan's Gardens.
It's called Reflections, and I think it's totally yummy paper!
The flower and pearls are from Michael's.
The adorable sentiment is from All That Scraps, and is an Amy R. collection called "Wish You Were Here".


That's all I have for you today - it's been a hubub of trips to and from the vet - shots and checkup for new brat dog, and grooming for old brat dog!

Good morning! I'm not sure where this week has gone. My best friend (ice bag :) and I have spent most of it curled up in the recliner! Getting better though... hopefully I'll be stalking ya'll full time next week!



My cute and quick card, features some of the Clear Dollar Stamps new digi releases. The DP's are from the "Patriotic Charlie" set, and the beautiful image comes from the "Garden of Life" set. Both are pre-colored - just print, cut, adhere, DONE! Gotta love it, and who wouldn't enjoy receiving this cute card in the mail?

Before I get to today's blog candy winner, I want to ask for thoughts and prayers for the folks in Joplin, Missouri. A tornado ripped through that town yesterday evening, and leveled a large portion of it. The hospital is a total mess, many are homeless, there are so many injuries, and as of this morning, a confirmed 89 dead, with many still missing. Please be thinking of them!
