A Little Birthday Wish...with clipped corners!

Hello out there!

I'm here today to share a fun card that I created this week.
Here's what I made:

A longtime blogging friend, Beth Norman, sent me Happy Mail - I jumped up and down when I found this beautiful stamp in the mail!  Isn't it just the best feeling ever to send or receive something fun in the mail?  I have a fun box ready to go out to a friend tomorrow...hope she likes it as well as I liked mine!  Anyway, as Beth is a DT member of Technique Junkies, I thought it would be fun to link this card up to their challenge.  This month's Technique Junkie's challenge is to use 'clipped corners'. There are some examples/tutorial on the TJ blog and FB pages.

I used #SD398 A Little Birthday Wish, and #S627 Flourished Floral for this card.

I stamped and colored the image, and fussy cut a 'corner' off of the image, which was then mounted on a black mat.  I love the way it turned out - hope that you like it as well!

Thanks for stopping by!  You still have a few days to enter the TJ challenge - hope you give it a try!

Hugs,
Smiles,
Blessings,

Patti J.

May Flowers...

Hi ya'll!

It's finally beginning to feel a little spring-ish here in Missouri.
Perfect timing for the May challenge on the Scor-Pal blog - 'May Flowers'. So, the challenge is to create something with more than one fold, and some form of May Flowers.

My project today is a little gift that I gave each class participant at last Saturday's workshop.

If you've never made one of the little triangle treat holders, it is the easiest EVER! Lots of fun scoring, and only a little taping! The other little box was equally easy and fun!

If you check back here on the 15th, I'll show you how to make these!

For this project, I used my Scor-Pal Eighths, 1/8" Scor-Tape, & 1/2" Scor-Tape.

Thanks for looking! Hope to see your creations in our monthly Scor-Pal challenge!

We also have a ton of inspiration on our Projects on the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to help you get creative!Challenge at Scor-Pal!

Happy May!

Blog Hopping with Tiddly Inks!

Hi there!

Glad to see you here today!

I'm so excited to be taking part in a fun Spring Blog Hop with Tiddly Inks!  Christy has the sweetest images, and I couldn't wait to get my markers out and start coloring.

The image I'm using is 'Fairy Sunny Day'.  I had fun with this card. As most of my cards go to friends, folks at church, or Chemo Buddies, I just added a simple die cut sentiment.

Here's my card:

This is a digital image. To make my card, I printed the image, colored it, and then trimmed the panel to desired size.  On the bottom, I did a bit of fussy cutting, letting part of the flower hang off the page. So...this is a one layer focal panel!

This view shows all of the fun shine - whatever did we do before Glossy Accents?

The hop starts today, at 6 p.m. CST!

Head over to the Tiddly Inks blog, and just follow the entries in the Inlinkz list!
You could win a $5 gift voucher to the Tiddly Inks store just for commenting!

The hop ends April 29, and there is a party planned on the Facebook page from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. on April 29th - more details on the Tiddly Inks blog!

Have fun hopping, and good luck...

Thanks for stopping by!

Sympathy...

Hello out there!

I'm finally catching up, so thought I'd begin sharing a few things that I've created since I got home.  I had an order for some simple, one layer sympathy cards, so I'll be sharing some of them with you in the next week or so.

This first one simply uses some beautiful Heartfelt Creations Paper, a Stampin'Up! sentiment, and some Glossy Accents.  Hope she likes it.

I'm going to enter this in the Sweet Stampin' Challenge, 'Sympathy or Thinking of You' Cards.
I'm also going to enter this in the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge, 'With Sympathy' (if I can get logged in. I've been away for a while, and it's not recognizing me!)

Hope your week is going well.

My handsome man is having cataract surgery on left eye tomorrow, with some repair work to be done on an optical membrane???  Send up a few well wishes if you have the time!
We'd appreciate all the help we can get!

Hugs and blessings,

Patti J.

Then and now...what a difference a few years make!

Good morning!

I'm still MIA, but wanted to drop in and say hi.

Today is a very special day.
45 years ago today, at 4:00 p.m. Central Time, I married my best friend, the love of my life,
and my partner in business, parenting, and everything in between.

Together, hand in hand, we have been through births, deaths, illness, good times,
and not-so-good times.  In 1980, when dear hubby sustained 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns
over more than 3/4 of his body, I thought I'd lose him, and I was terrified.  Thanks to God,
a very strong and stubborn husband, successful skin grafts, and a wonderful burn unit, we were blessed to weather that storm together.

We've watched our babies grow up into successful adults, and are proud of the goodness
and love of family in each of them. They have both married wonderful spouses, and have blessed us with 4 beautiful grandchildren. It's fun to watch their love grow with each passing year.

Life is so good!

I thought I'd share with you our 'then and now' photos, so you can see what a difference
45 years makes!

Stan, if you happen to read this blog post, I hope that you know how much you mean to me.
Each year, our love grows, changes, and each year just gets better and better.  Let's see what the next 45 years bring!  Happy Anniversary - I love you!

Thanks, everyone, for putting up with this sappy post! Sometimes, you just gotta go with what your heart tells you, right???  I have to laugh - we had the latest photo taken for our church directory. I forgot to wear earrings AND neglected to put on any make-up.  Old age is my excuse for said forgetfulness!

Happy Saturday to all,
Patti J.
