Scor-Pal Challenge - Back to School

Hello there, everyone!

This is my second post today. If you are looking for my 2 Crafty Critter Crazies post, just scroll up!
It's time for a new monthly challenge at Scor-Pal, and the theme is Back to School, and of course, more than one fold.

I created a fun back to school set, and am eager to show it to you. So, here we go!
I used a fun digi stamp, School Girl Sally, from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for my card front - isn't this little student the sweetest? Since our oldest grandchild starts Kindergarten this year, it was fitting that she get this card!

For my project, I used: Scor-Pal Eighths, and Scor-Tape 1/4".

Here is the set...

Here we have the card, and three sweet little post-it holders for the mini post it pads. I just measured the width and length of the post it pads, added a bit for a decorative punch, and voila! I think they ended up being 2" x 5", scoring on the 5" side at 1.25", 1 5/8", 3.25", and 3 5/8".

The wraps are open in this photo so you can see the post-it pads

You can see how the card opens at the bottom, with a cute magnet to hold the flap closed...

and then at the top, so you have a place to write your own note!

We hope to see your creations for Back to School in our 'More Than One Fold', Scor-Pal challenge!

We also have a ton of inspiration in the Projects section of the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to help you get creative!

Happy Scoring!

Hello Sunshine!

Hi there!
And hello sunshine!  After all of the dreary days we have had lately, the sun is a lovely change. The ice and snow are beginning to melt away, and I might even get the car down the driveway by mid week!

I have a card to share today that I created for my chemo lady.
Colorbok CS, Memory Box 'Meadow Birds' D1376, Hero Arts Sentiment, Satin Ribbon: Papermart, Embossing folder: Nellie's Choice HSF004 'Oval Frame 1' purchased from Joan's Gardens.
I liked the crispness of the black and white, with just the touch of blue.  Hope my lady likes it :)

Yesterday was the annual YMCA Women's Wellness Weekend.  Each year, I volunteer my time, and supplies, and teach lots of ladies to love what we all love!  We made some very cute things yesterday, and I hope it's okay that I share them here!

First is a card that totally CASED a layout by the uber-talented Monika Davis!  You can see her card HERE.  I didn't have the stamp that she used, so decided that the Memory Box stamp used above would work very well.  The ladies absolutely loved it, and were just beaming when they had created it all by themselves!  Here is the card:
Colorbok DP, Colorbok Black CS, Hammermill 110# white CS, Versafine Black Ink
Next up on yesterday's agenda, was a corner bookmark.  This was easy peasy.  Followed a template that I purchased a LONG time ago from Donna at Butternut Sage Designs.  Just a basic triangle with a bit of funky trimming at the bottom, and the addition of a loop of ribbon, and a flower (theirs was much prettier, and about twice the size as mine) from Target's $1 bin.

Our next project was a post-it note holder.  I did not have a 'template' for this.  I just placed the post it on a rectangle of CS, and put score lines where score lines should go, decorated the panels, and added a velcro closure, and a computer generated initial.  Again, the ladies were very impressed with themselves!

Last, but certainly not least, was an Easter Basket, using an adorable pre-colored image from Doodle Pantry.  This was actually one of the very first projects that I ever made as a papercrafter.  I have no idea where the original template came from, but I found a pattern at Stamp TV in the Freebies section.  Theirs called for beginning with an 8" square, and 2.5" sides.  I adjusted this one to begin with a 7" square, with 2" sides, so that I wouldn't have to furnish quite as much chocolate :)
I think they were very pleased!

I had two workshops yesterday.  Each session created the same projects, so there were different ladies in each session.  The first session began at 2:00 p.m., and I was finished with first AND second sessions by 5:00 p.m.  Whew....I felt like I'd run a marathon!  The room was set up in a U shape, and the tables were about 10' apart, so if I helped on the left side of the room, and was needed on the right side of the room, I certainly got some much needed exercise!

Well, hope this wasn't too terribly boring!  Wanted to post before I got sidetracked and forgot!

Back to the drawing board.  Am working on some publication calls this afternoon...and then back to taxes tomorrow :(

Have a great evening,
Patti J.

Doodle Pantry August Releases are Here!!!

Good morning!

Where in the world did July go? I blinked and it's gone!

It's August 5th, and that means Laurie has stocked the Doodle Pantry with the new August releases! And what a HUGE release she has this month - wait until you see how many new sets are available!

I am using the Topiary Seasons set today.
Oh my - this set has so many pieces!
You can choose your season, your topper, your planter, what fun!
The stamp that I'm using today came complete, and was pre-colored.
The designer paper is also a new release set this month, called Four Seasons Papers.
You will squeal with delight when you see all of the paper choices in this set!

These little acrylic frames are so much fun to work with!
For mine, I printed the image from the Topiary Seasons set, and the sentiment from the Daffodill-Sweet Peas set.
Both were matted on a rust CS scrap.
I printed the sunflower DP for my background.
This was put IN the frame.
I also printed and matted a calendar.
The sunflower topiary was printed again, and this time I cut out the flowers to use as embellishments.
All items were put on the frame with Velcro dots, so that they can be changed out for the different seasons.
A small post it pad completes the front.
On the back, I used the DP with a Pentel RSVP pen, and a velcro dot, so there is always a matching pen available!
It, too, can be changed for the next season.

Hurry over to The Doodle Pantry to check out all of the fabulous new sets, and to see what gorgeous creations the other DT members and our three special Guest Designers have put together for you!
While you are at the Doodle Pantry store, check out Laurie's great August deals - wow!
The specials start today!

We have also posted a new challenge (DPBC15) on the Doodle Pantry Blog.
The theme is simple - Use a Doodle Pantry image.
If you don't have any DP images, you can go to the DP store and snag a freebie!!!
ALL PARTICIPANTS in this challenge will receive a pre-selected image for free,
and one lucky participant will win a $15 Doodle Pantry Gift Certificate!

Can't wait to see your creations in the challenge - have a great day! It's FRIDAY!!!!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Gotta quit...

Thanks SO much to the ladies that have come to visit my blog. It is so exciting to see a number larger than zero in the comments!!! Lol!

However, I have run out of glue dots, glue runner refills, and am resorting to *UGH* white liquid glue! I guess it's time to stop crafting and start cleaning!

Here is my latest project - I have several gazillion post it pads of various sizes, so I've attempted a Post it Holder. Paper is DCWV, Stamps are Angel Company and Inkadinkado.

Well, we have one truck stuck at the bottom of the driveway, and are going to attempt to take another truck to town to get some groceries and GLUE DOTS! Stanley Manley is making a trial run down the hill and back up as I type! Wish us luck!!!

Happy Saturday everyone!
