A CAS Card (really!)

Yes, I really did it! It's a CAS card from ME - those of you that know me well, know that I am terrified of CAS, therefore, this is really an exciting post! This is actually one of the several items we will make in my workshop on Tuesday, providing we don't get snowed out!

I sponged with Tim Hotz Antique Linen distress ink, then stamped with Color Box Chalk Ink, Olive. The sentiment is a Verve, Plain Jane.

Since CAS is not my thing, I would love some feedback! Feel free to 'moral support' me to pieces! lol...

Hugs and blessings...

Moxie Fab - Start to Finish!

I finished a card this morning for the Moxie Fab World's "Start to Finish" challenge. Cath has challenged us to complete a card - finish the inside AND the outside! I quickly jumped on this challenge, as I really need to start doing a little more to the insides of my cards - thanks Cath!!!

I am also entering this in the Mojo Monday weekly challenge -
Here is Mary's wonderful sketch:

Silly me, try as I might, I couldn't get the sentiment to photograph well. If I tried to adjust contrast or brightness, it was affecting the entire card, AND... I realized after I posted the photo that my thumb had mashed the ribbon! Lol...

Here is my card:

and the inside...!!! (did I mention thanks Cath???)

What's in it:
DCWV Garden Party Stack, Stampin'Up's Tempting Turquoise Ink, Kaiser Crafts Pearls, and a Verve 'Plain Jane' sentiment.

I hope your day was filled with blessings - I was lucky enough to spend part of mine (the before taxes part...lol) with my BSFF Shirley, and we got in some time in her girl-cave playing with some new TAC images!

Big hugs - see you tomorrow!

Oh no...not again!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting very discouraged by blogger going down as often as it does! It is once again, telling me that I have no blogs that I am following... sheesh. Hopefully, it will fix itself tonight while this tired girl sleeps! I'm about a half step away from going to Typepad or Wordpress...

I have spent most of today just hangin' out with my peeps... we BBQ'd, watched the Cardinal's win the ballgame, etc. I didn't even go to town!

I worked on only one craft project, and that was the 365 Cards Challenge for today. It is Sunday, so that means Sunday Sketch Challenge!

I used DCWV CS, DP by Provo that I found at Big Lots last week, and a scrap of rick rack. The only embellishment was a silk flower, topped by a punched (Martha Stewart punch) flower and brad.

Paper Inspiration dragonfly stamps are old, old, old! (1999) , but are some that I just drag out over and over as they work so well!

The sentiment is a Verve Plain Jane, which I love to pieces!!!

I stamped all images first with Color Box Pastel Lime Chalk Ink, and then with Versafine Brown, moving the stamp slightly for a shadowed effect.

Sure hope you had a great day! Can't believe tomorrow's already Monday.

Take care, sleep well, God bless!!!

The Smartest Audience in the World....

Which, of course, is you! However, no one noticed that I was in such a hurry on my last card that the inside had a butterfly on the front, and a dragonfly on the inside flap!!! Lol....DD noticed it right off! I feel pretty silly! Oh, well.... gotta laugh - it is really funny!

Today's card is for a challenge over at Heart Hugs Designs. We were to go to Bacon Square Farm's site on Etsy, and pick out something to design a card after. I picked this:

I cut 9 strips of CS about 1/8" wide, distressed the edges, hoping they'd look like the pipes in the above photo. I think they look more like siding : -) Anyway, it was something I liked, and here is what I made...

Supplies: DCWV CS, Verve's Abundant Blessings Stamps, Colorbox Chalk Ink; Charcoal, Flower Soft; Spring, Marvy Scalloped Circle Punch. I colored the edges of the punched circle with a black Tombow marker, and adhered it over the cut out center with a pop up dot.
Hopefully, you have been blessed with a beautiful and relaxing weekend. Ours has been nice. DD has had to work all weekend, as did DH, but he and I did manage to go to the movies last night. We saw Angels and Demons. Funny.... we thought that the Angels and Demons book was better than the DaVinci Code book, but the DaVinci Code movie is better than the Angels and Demons movie!
Cardinal's lost....bah...
Peace out one and all!

It's Sorta Like Friday - Yippee!

Well dear friends and family - I'm a new woman already, as it's a three day weekend!!! DD and I plan to go to the city tomorrow and shop until we really DO drop! I'm very much looking forward to just doing the 'girls day out' thing!

My post for tonight is for the Mojo Monday Challenge. All stamps are Verve Stamps, again from the Abundant Blessings set, and one of the Verve Plain Jane's. All card stock is DCWV, and all ink for stamping and distressing is Color Box Chalk (Chestnut Roan).

I tried to stay true to the sketch, but I wavied up the inside strips a bit with the EK Success Wave Border Punch. The brads and bible were just in my 'everything' boxes, so I'm not sure which company produces them.

Hope you like it!

I'm off to relax a bit! Take care!

One and one...

Well, our beloved Redbirds are one and one on the season!

Pittsburgh wasn't very nice to them the first game, but we came back last night with a winner. I couldn't find the game televised, so was forced to flip between American Idol and Biggest Loser. I could, however, imagine how cute Yadier Molina looked when he hit his home run. He is so expressive - it's great fun to watch his face when he does something good!!!

My card tonight is for a Cuttlebug Challenge. The colors to be used were Kraft Card Stock, Black, and Ivory. There was no 'sketch', but it was to be kept fairly clean and simple. I chose to use the "D'Vine Swirl" Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on the large black oval and on the corners. I have had this great DP on hand by Design Originals. It's from the Linen Collection by Lisa Vallrath, and it was just screaming out to be used on this! There are several coordinating pages, of which I used a couple. This is just another one of those 'must haves' that I picked up at O'Dear's before Christmas! I used the Marvy Green and Pink scalloped oval punches, a paper flower, Kraft C.S., Palette Noir Ink, and a white pen and Gelly Roll Starburst pen. The stamps are from the Abundant Blessings set from Verve Stamps. I hope you like it! I love a monochromatic card, but am not very good at making them!

Have a good Wednesday night!

Love the Verve...

Hello Friends!

I must admit - the Verve stamps that I received this week are wonderful. They smell nice (really!), they stamp nicely, and I love that they are clear. The only thing bad about them is that I don't have the time to 'play' like I want to, and they certainly make me want to do so!

I stole just a few minutes away this a.m. and used some two sided DP to get something very quickly made up. I used the Abundant Blessings Set, and one of the Plain Janes (I can do all things...). The ink is TAC India Red and Pallette Noir. The two sided designer paper is by BIO (By Invitation Only) and is another great paper that I picked up at O'Dear's. I only had about 10 minutes to spare, so did no coloring or distressing : -( and you all know that I LOVE to distress!

Hope you like it - I'll have more time next week to explore this set further!

Happy Sunday - God Bless!

Patti J.
