Treat Box

Yesterday, I spent most of the day pinching myself.  I was lucky enough to have a box that I created, featured on Splitcoast Stampers!  You can find the tutorial, and even a video, HERE.  I thought I would share the box, as it's a fun way to give a sweet little gift, and display your artwork, as well!

This first box features Impression Obsession Stamps: Spa Day G2346, and Witching You B5523.  All Coloring is done with Copic Markers, Ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, and the cardstock is from a muse studio.  The teensy spiders are from a punch I found in the $1 bin at Michael's - no names on it.

This little sweetie is a Little Darlings stamp.  She just melts my heart with those big blue eyes! The sentiment stamp is from Stampendous, and the cardstock is Kraft.  Button is from my stash, and I used my black Zig Pen for doodling around the edges.  All coloring is done with Copic Markers.

Last, is the easiest of all!  Using some Graphic 45 DP, I simply cut and pasted on the box.

Hope you will give it a try!  Looking forward to seeing YOUR treat boxes!
There is an album in the gallery at SCS for them, so after you create,
post your finished project HERE!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!
There are lots of fun hops coming up in the next couple of weeks - check out my sidebar for more info!

Have a great day,
Patti J.

Happy New Year!

Hello, and Happy New Year!

I hope that you all enjoyed a safe and relaxing New Year's Eve.  We went to dinner with some friends, then returned to their home for a guys vs. gals dominoes game.  Needless to say, I'm MUCH better at crafting than at dominoes.

As today is the 1st of the month, it's New Release Day at Doodle Pantry!  Laurie is ringing in 2012 with some wonderful new releases, and after a full month off, we are all refreshed, and ready to create again.

My card today features the new set "Love Birdies".

This is another one of Laurie's fabulous Pre-Colored images, so I literally printed, cut, and assembled this card.  Clean and Simple, for sure!

This shows the card fully closed.

This shows card with only the front panel opened.

Card with front upper panel AND two little gatefold panels opened.

I found the tutorial for this adorable 'Double Dutch Fold' card, by Patty Bombyk on the Splitcoast Stampers Weekly Inkling #292, and knew it would be perfect for this card.  I hope you will give it a try!

  • Don't forget - you can still take advantage of the Doodle Pantry Year End/New Year sale through January 2nd.  You will get 50% off of all digi images!  Just type RINGITIN in the coupon field at the bottom of your cart page.  When you click SUBMIT, the discount will be applied to your order.  You can then proceed with checking out.

    Flutter By...

Good morning! It's time for another challenge at Flutter By Wednesday! Danni has challenged us to create a window card, including, of course, an angel, butterfly, or fairy.

For my window card, I began with 2 pieces of cardstock. Each were 4.25" x 7", and were scored on each end at 1/2" and 1". I used a round Nestie on the cover, and a Nestie Blossom for the snowperson.

The snowperson, and the tree are both images by The Angel Company, and were colored with Copic markers (they still scare me half silly, but I've gotta learn somehow!) The snowflake and pearls were from my stash.

I look forward to seeing your fabulous window cards posted at Flutter By Wednesday! There are some resources on Splitcoast Stampers for different styles of window cards if you need a bit of inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great last half of the week! Shirley, my dear friend, is coming over today to have lunch and create! Should be a fun day!

    Hugs,

    Patti J.

    Pot of Gold...

With St. Patty's Day quickly approaching, our challenge at There's Magic in the Air this week uses Nina's adorable "Pot of Gold" image.

(Just a reminder - Nina recently added about 25 brand new images to her store, Paper Cupcakes. If you haven't been there to shop lately, you should check them out!)

When you drop by at There's Magic in the Air today to pick up your free image, be sure to wish our Nina a Happy Birthday! She tried to keep it a secret, but that didn't work! Nina, if you are reading, Happy Birthday, dear friend!

Danielle Lord, our hostess this week, asks us to "use the colors green and gold on the products outside of the image, with the added bonus of using metal somewhere on our creations (brad, charm, etc.)

As you can see, I've added a brad to the center of my flower.

As for the green and gold, my CS is green, my ribbon is green, and my tag is matted with beautiful shiny gold CS!

It's a little hard to read the computer generated sentiment. It reads:

    May your blessings outnumber

    The shamrocks that grow,

    And may trouble avoid you

    Wherever you go.

    ~Irish Blessing

I thought of all of you when I used this sentiment!

I saw this stand up card featured on Beate Johns' blog a while back, and just had to try it! If you've never visited Beate's blog, it is a 'must do'! She features the nicest video tutorials. Beate explains things so nicely that even I can do them!!!

Hope that you like this - it was fun to do, and you can find the tutorial on Beate's blog, or in the resources section at Split Coast Stampers.

Hurry over to get your free image and play in this week's challenge! You could win this:

I may be a bit scarce this week. DH injured his knee last Thursday, and we have an appt. with a specialist tomorrow, and our new kitchen countertops are coming on Tuesday afternoon, so I will have a lot of work to do in the kitchen on Tuesday morning! Afterwards, there will be tons of damage control (clean up, etc....)!

Have a Magical Monday, and a great week!

    See you asap!

    Patti J.
