Thinking of You...'Perfectly'

Wowzers, May is already zipping by!

Today, I'm sharing a card that was made almost entirely, using my Perfect Layers Rulers.
These rulers are right up at the top of my 'favorite' list!  They make getting a perfect mat so easy!

Each of my layers utilizes the 1/8" ruler.
These tools are so easy to use!  You can use any brand of craft knife, or even a rotary cutter!
Check out the company site for a tutorial video, on how to use them.  Check out the code on my sidebar for a discount on any order you place with Perfect Layers Papercrafting!
Please check out the Perfect Layers Facebook Page, as well!

The patterned paper is from an older Cosmo Cricket 6 x 6 pad called 'Togetherness'.
The stamps, and cardstock are from A Muse.
The flowers are from the "Charming Gardners' stamp set, and...
The sentiment is from the 'Friend to Friend' stamp set.
The flowers were outlined with Copic Marker R27, and blended with R32.
Inside petals were blended with YR30.
Leaves are outlined with G82.
DD and her DH are on the road again.
We miss them so much!  And Rosie....Oh my.  We had the grand-doggie for a month,
and she left a hole in our hearts, for sure! Even our dogs seem lost.
They are visiting Nick's family in the DC area, and will be leaving next Tuesday for their tour in Germany.  They'll be there for 3 years.
Thank you all so much for your patience,
and understanding, while family was our priority in April.
Have a great day!
Hugs & smiles,
Patti J.

Reject.......thank goodness!

Hi there!

I don't know about you, but I'm shocked that it's already Thursday! Where did the week go?

Before I start jabbering, has anyone else's blog reverted back to the 'OLD' blogger style?  Sheesh, what is up with them?  Don't know why they can't leave well enough alone!

Things are slowly getting back to normal here. I decided that while I had already been away from the blog for a few days, now would be a great time to spend a few days getting tax things prepared. So, one day down, and a couple to go.

The card I have to show today is a publication reject. A while back, a call was sent out for projects using Baker's Twine. We were to think 'outside the box' and get very creative with our use of twine. Well, either I got too creative or not creative enough! Thank goodness I had a reject to show you today, as I don't have anything new prepared!

The papers are all Cosmo Cricket, the twine is mostly The Twinery & Jillibean. The sentiment is from the package of Cosmo Cricket.

Ta-da!

Hope that your week is going well, and that you have a nice, relaxing weekend ahead.

Thanks for stopping by, and for being patient with my status of MIA in Blogland!

Hugs and many, many blessings,
Patti J.

Just Chillin...

Goodness, are we EVER chillin'!!!

I'm actually getting this blog post ready on Monday, as they are calling for nearly an inch of ice, topped with 'inches' of snow, and when that happens, we usually are without power for several days.

I was so excited to be invited to serve as a guest designer for the month of February, for Deedee's Digi's!
I met Deedee Anderson while I was working on my very first design team!
She is as sweet as her images are!

For my first project with Deedee, I've made a simple card, using her "Just Chillin' image, and one of the sentiments from the set. This little bear is darling!
To me, she looks a lot like I feel, "is it ever going to stop snowing?" lol....

Supplies Used: Copic Markers, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Frosted Lace Stickles, ZVA Pearls, Cosmo Cricket Material Girl, Bazzill CS
To see more of Deedee's images, check out her store! You will not be disappointed!
To enter this week's challenge, check out the challenge blog, Crafting with Deedees Digi's.
The challenge this week is: Fellowship Week -
Make and donate a card to a charity or church ministry that collects cards for those in need.
We can't wait to see YOUR cards!!!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hugs and smiles...Patti J.

Happy Birthday Rio!

How much fun is a 13th birthday?

Every kid waits for what seems like forever to become a 'teenager'!

Betty Roberts' (Simply Betty Stamps) daughter, Rio, is no exception, and will turn 13 on February 8th!

When asked by Betty what she wanted for her birthday, Rio asked, "Mom, is it really my choice what I get for my birthday?" Betty assured her that it was her choice. Rio then says, "Ok, this year, mom, I want money, but can I do anything at all with it?" Betty said "Of course you can." (Get your tissues ready...) Rio continues, "Okay, I want my birthday money to be donated to the children of St. Jude's hospital, so they can have a special day, or whatever the money is needed for. I don't want to have money to just blow, when I can help other kids that can't get out of bed, or go outside. That's what I want for my birthday."

Rio is a very special 13 year old! Betty went to work, and designed a 13th birthday digi image that she named after Rio. You can find it at her store. For $3.00, you can get an adorable image that can be used over and over! To top it all off, the $3 will go entirely to Rio's St. Jude's donation!

Rio does not know about the image yet, OR the upcoming surprise! Betty is asking for birthday cards to be mailed to Rio in time for her birthday on Feb. 8th. She is going to collect them all, and on Rio's birthday, they will walk down together to the mailboxes, where Betty will have stashed all of the cards, along with some of Rio's fave yummies, Reese's cups and York Peppermint Patties! After her birthday, Betty plans to take Rio to St. Jude's, where she can hand deliver her donation.

How cool is this, I mean really.......!

Hurry over to Simply Betty's Stamps, look for the link to Rio's Birthday image, and help out some very unfortunate children! Let's help Rio know that what she is doing is a very good thing, and that she is providing a special blessing for these kids!

Here's my card with the image.....scroll down for mailing address! Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Material Girl DP, Copic Markers, Spica Glitter Pens, Sentiment by The Angel Company, ribbon and flower from Hobby Lobby, Cotton Candy Stickles

Craft Your Passion GDT - Last Week

Wow, where has January gone?
I know, without a doubt, that I 'just' turned my calendar page from
December 2010 to January 2011!
Time really DOES fly when one is having fun!
Today is my last post for Craft Your Passion Challenges. I have greatly enjoyed working with the ladies at CYP - they are a lot of fun, and I thank them very much for asking me to join them in their challenges this month!
I was given this adorable tweed hat image to work with today.
This is another Cocodingo image that can be found in the store at CYP.
I thought it would be fun to use this new paper pack that I found last week when I was at Archiver's. It's a Cosmo Cricket 6 x 6 pad, called Material Girl. I fell in love with the patterns in it, and had to have it.

Supplies: Image from Cocodingo, Copics, Ribbon from Stash, Hat Pins from stash, Pop Dots
The hat was colored with Copic markers. I took a second image, colored it, cut the hat out, and adhered it over the first hat using dimensional dots.
The challenge this week at Craft Your Passion is to use two DP's.
Hope to see your wonderful creations on the Craft Your Passion Challenge link this week!
Again, thank you to the CYP gals for asking me to serve as January's guest designer!
Have a great week!
Patti J.
