Ella...So pretty in pink

Welcome to a new challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Our hostess for today's challenge is the beautiful and amazing Chris Olsen.

Chris has chosen the following scripture for her challenge:

*****
My health may fail, my spirit may grow weak,
but God remains the strength of my heart;
He is mine forever.
~Psalm 73:26
*****

Chris has challenged us to use a pink ribbon,
and to make pink the primary color on our projects this week.

Our sponsor this week is Lori Boyd (by Lori Designs). My image today, Ella, is one of Lori's wonderful images. She was just perfect for a pink theme. You can find Ella here!

Supplies Used: Bazzill CS, Copics (see photo), Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Kaiser Crafts Pearls, Stampin' Up DP
Hope to see your card entered in the challenge this week at Stampin' Sisters in Christ!
Dig out those pretty pink papers, ribbons, pearls, and coloring choices and have fun creating!
My thoughts on today's scripture:

I have a blogging friend, Julie, who lives in Canada, and is a beautiful person inside and out, . When I started this blog earlier this week, I had many things come to mind that I wrote about. However, yesterday morning Julie's blog entry prompted me to delete what I had written, and begin again.
You see, dear friends... a few months ago, Julie's family was just like the rest of us. Hurrying from one thing to another with the kids, family vacations, school starting, cards to create, housework to do, etc. Then Julie's best friend, the love of her life, her dear husband, Russ, was diagnosed with cancer. The past couple of months have had many ups and downs for Julie and her family. Yesterday morning, Julie's dear husband, Russ passed away. During Russ' illness, Julie was a pillar of strength. Though she wrote about each day's trials, never did she complain. She and her family prayed for Russ' illness to be gone, for his pain to be gone, for a miracle. Even as his health failed, and his spirit grew weak, God remained the strength of their hearts. When Russ passed away, Julie wrote to tell us that he had gotten his miracle. Julie has been such an inspiration. Her two young boys are so lucky to have her as their mom, and I feel so blessed to have been lucky enough to get to know her through this hobby we share.
Have a great week,
Patti J.
I will be entering this card at: FlutterbyWednesdays - Open challenge (include angel, butterfly, or fairy)

Lovely card with a touching story. I dare say that in this world every family has dealt with cancer. A disease that makes everyone feel so out of control yet has the ablility to bring everyone together and gives us the true meaning of what time we have on the earth. Precious. Sally

Oh my Patti - I'm so sorry to hear of Russ' passing. I've been reading Julie's blog for a long time now and it has been so sad to read about her struggle to be strong for Russ. Bless her heart.

On a slightly lighter note - this project is just adorable. Love your pretty ribbon treatment with the pearl flourish. Very nicely done!

Your card is adorable.
I said a prayer for Julie and her family. I recently lost my mom, and as much as I have grieved I can only imagine the pain God must feel to see the ones let behind hurting. Death is something He had not intended for us to experience, but due to the fall of man it is something that touches each one of us.
