Being a Family

Hello out there!

It's Fri-yay!

I have two Technique Junkies cards to share with you today using one of the beautiful May release stamps, 'Being a Family'.

I started by stamping on a piece of patterned paper. I love papers that coordinate on the back - makes trimming out a card so simple! I just cut two strips of the peach paper, flipped it over, and used the printed side for the card edges. I put the card together, and used some glossy accents on the leaves. Done!
.

For this card, I stamped on Kraft, drew a 'border' with a Sharpie marker, matted on black, and mounted on Kraft. No glossy on this one, but I did add a bow!

I'd also like to share a card I made with the 'Five Fab Phrases' set:

This is another CAS card!  Sponged a background on white cardstock, stenciled using A Colorful Life 'Heart Fade' stencil, added a die cut, and stamped the sentiment (Five Fab Phrases set).

Hope you like these stamps as much as I do!  If you need a quick card, this is it!
Don't forget - today can still take advantage of the 15% off sale!

Be sure to check out the Technique Junkies store to see all of the latest releases, and if you shop, please use my discount code to get 10% off of any purchase any time! And this is in addition to the 15% off!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hugs and smiles,

Designers Choice at The House that Stamps Built - Spring Flowers

Hi there, crafty friends!

It's time for another Repeat Impressions Stamps challenge at The House that Stamps Built, and we have a new Designer’s Choice Challenge for you. Joy is our hostess for the month, and has challenged us all to use our RI stamps to create something using the theme: "Spring Flowers".

Here's what I made using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

As you can see, the flowers were stamped again, colored, fussy cut, and popped up with dimensional foam for some pretty depth.  The vase was stamped and cut out of both a blue patterned paper, and the navy used in the die cut background.

This was a fun challenge - thanks Joy!

 And now it’s your turn!
We hope you will create a card that has a focus on today’s DCC theme, and enter it in our challenge at The House that Stamps Built!  Remember, your creation does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include our designs we would love to see them!  Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using our stamps in your submissions!
One lucky person this month will win a $25 Repeat Impressions Gift Certificate!

Check out my sidebar - grab the code to save money on your RI orders!

Now, it's time to see what my DT friends have created!

Joy     Laurie     Heather   Shirley     Donna     Esther

Toilet Paper Cards

Howdy friends!

I was in need of a fun card idea to send out to some friends and family members, when I saw a video by Melanie Muenchinger. This was exactly what I wanted to do, so, I sat right down and figured it out, thanks to Melanie's great video!

Here's what I made - Be sure to click them larger to get a look at the fun embossing!
The stamps are from Pink and Main's 'Hugs Needed' set:

Here's the card inside, and the envelope fronts and backs - the card front has a cute toilet paper roll from the Repeat Impressions set 'Holy Crap'. The sentiment on the back was Stampabilities 'Have Faith' off the sale rack at Hobby Lobby last year, as was the Cross and sentiment on the card inside. The masked emoticon and matted sentiment was computer generated.

So, if you are looking for something to bring a smile to someone's day, this might be it! Go check out Melanie's video - she makes it SO easy! No dies involved, just a pencil, scissors, and an embossing folder!

Let me know if you decide to give it a try - I'd love to pop in and see what you've created!

I also needed a belated birthday card, and used some stamps from Repeat Impressions' 'Holy Crap' set.  Here's how it turned out:

Card inside:
This sentiment was perfect, as I was late last year, too!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful evening!

Pick of the Week at The House that Stamps Built

Hi everyone!
It's my turn to share a Pick of the Week at The House that Stamps BuiltThe Repeat Impressions Stampthat I picked to showcase are:

Hope you are all doing okay with the virus situation. We are good so far, but wow...the days seem to just all run together! As I saw on social media a while back, "it's this day, that day, the other day"!

Have you ever stamped an image and wondered what to do with it? Does it look like it's just sitting there, looking goofy with white space all around it?  Here are a few ways to 'ground' your image!

Let's get started!

First I stamped 3 identical panels:

One idea is just to lightly draw in a 'hardwood floor', using a light and dark brown coloring medium:

Here's what it looks like after coloring:
(VERY fast, rough floor!!!)

Another way to ground an image would be to create a 'rug'. I did this using a few small oval dies, and penciling around them. Here is what the penciled image looks like:

I scribbled a quick pattern into my rug with a darker marker in each of the two color families.
Here's what the finished 'rug' looks like:

Last, is just a quick, easy shadow.  You don't need to pencil this on first, but I did, just for the purpose of this tutorial.  Here's how I chose to shadow:

Here are the three completed cards, so you can see how same but different they look:

And here are some close up photos:

For this week only (May 4-May 10, 2020), get 20% off the three stamps used in my creation above when you use the coupon code POTW5420.

Thanks for stopping by today!

You can also use my discount code on any purchase from Technique Junkies, anytime. You can even use it along with the discount above!

It will have to be just the right person, but someone sometime will get tickled when they find one of these in their mailboxes!

For this first card, I just stamped then colored the image.  Once done, I grabbed the stencil, and stenciled around the image.  Quick, easy, fun card!

Here's a view of the card inside. I did a bit of stenciling here too.

For this card, I just stamped, colored and cut the image slightly outside the box. Had a little fun with some die cuts for framing, and did a bit of sponge distressing with some antique linen  ink. Once finished, it was all mounted onto some designer paper from my stash.

Last, but not least, is this cute feller.  Again, I stamped, colored, stenciled, and mounted on a base. I used just a small scrap of black to make the focal panel pop a bit against the blue.

And here's a shot of the card inside. Another black scrap, some stenciling, and done!

Hope this handsome dude brought you a smile...Now, let's Hop!!!

2 Crafty Critter Crazies and Fabrika Fantasy!

Good morning everyone!

I have two posts today, so if you are looking for the Technique Junkies blog hop, scroll around until you find it!

Today, I am sharing another fun creation for 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!
As you know, each creation must include a critter, and you all know how much I love critters!

Since it's the first of the month, there is a brand new challenge at the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge Blog!  We are excited to be sponsored this month by Fabrika Fantasy.

This image is so sweet!  I chose to work with Happy Raccoon, because it made me think of a stuffed raccoon (Rocky) that my husband brought home to our daughter many years ago. Now, HER daughter sleeps with Rocky the Raccoon!
The darling image was pre-colored!  I stenciled some butterflies over the image with a stencil I found at Dollar Tree, and added a die cut Hello.  This will be mailed to VA to our girls!!!

Here's my card:

Isn't this critter adorable???

Hope you like it!

Please check out the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies blog to see some great inspiration that our design team is sharing with you. We hope that you will all play along this month - can't wait to see your critter creations!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.
