Designer's Choice Challenge at The House that Stamps Built!

Happy 1st Wednesday in SEPTEMBER! ??!

It's time for another Repeat Impressions Stamps challenge at The House that Stamps Built, and we have a new Designer’s Choice Challenge for you. Our hostess for the month is Esther, and she has challenged us to use 'A New Technique' on our creations! Please join us in our challenge, and create something using the theme: "A New Technique".

Here's what I made using this Repeat Impressions Stamp:

For my card, I tried a technique that was new to me. I had never, ever tried inking an embossing folder! So....what better time to learn? I inked up the front side of the embossing folder, gently spritzed it with water, added my cardstock panel, and ran it through my Big Shot, to emboss it. All what was left to do was add it to a card base, bling it up a bit, and add the sentiment! Voila! Easy and elegant look!

 And now it’s your turn!
We hope you will create a card that has a focus on today’s DCC theme, and enter it in our challenge at The House that Stamps Built!  Remember, your creation does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include our designs we would love to see them!  Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using our stamps in your submissions!
One lucky person this month will win a $25 Repeat Impressions Gift Certificate!

Check out my sidebar - grab the code to save money on your RI orders!

Now, it's time to see what my DT friends have created!

Happy Hopping!
Hope you link up a card this week!

Thanks for stopping by,

Patti J.

Patti your card is absolutely gorgeous! Inked embossing folders creates such a pretty background, and is one of my favorite ways to create backgrounds! You've mastered it on your first try! I love your take on my "try a new technique" challenge!

Well after reading your post - SIMPLE - I have never done this - but on my short list of things to try. No obligations today (except dreaded house work) so a few hours in my craft room is in order. Great card.

I think I've only tried this technique once, and I loved how it turned out. I'm so glad you featured it on your card--it reminded me why I should try it again! TFS

Hi Patti. I've just "published" a comment but I think something may have gone wrong. When I hit publish, just before it went off, I saw the comment I had left was just a bunch of symbols. So not sure what happened, therefore leaving another comment :-)
I love your card! The background is gorgeous as are the colours and the sentiment.
Have a great day. Big hugs,
