Challenges!

Hi all,
It's been a very long time since I entered any challenges. Thought I'd throw a couple of entries out there this week!

I saw a fun challenge at Double D Challenges, 'Kentucky Derby Hat Inspiration'.  Here is the inspirational photo they offered:

I had this older stamp set from Flourishes that immediately came to mind. Here is what I made:

Then, there was a challenge at The House that Stamps Built. The Designer Choice Challenge was hostessed by Shirley Hotop, and was to create a one layer card. Well....I did. However, while coloring the image, there was an OOPS, which I covered up by paper piecing the pot and leaves. Hope it still counts, as I sure didn't mean to! I don't know about you, but I'm finding it tough to find good quality white cardstock that alcohol markers do not bleed on! Anyway, here is what I made for the one layer challenge using all Repeat Impressions stamps:

Hope you are having a good evening. I'm having a bit of a pity party. I was supposed to fly to California today to visit grandson and his parents. Unfortunately, I took a tumble down a flight of stairs last week, and am pretty stoved up. Not fit for flying today, for sure. So, I'm quite sad tonight.

Take care, and stay dry!
Hugs and smiles - Patti J.

Your card is lovely. What super images and pretty oval.
OH NO, hope you are okay. Falling down the stairs isn't good.....and you might be paying for it for days with pain. So sorry you had to postpone your trip. Feel better.

Hugs
Sue

Your cards are wonderful, Patti, but I was so sad to hear about your tumble. I hope you heal up soon and can make that trip to see your grandson. I'll keep you in my prayers!

Love your KY. Derby hat card - have't done this technique in a while. And yes your one layer card counts as one layer, or in my opinion it does. I love how the simple images can make such a pretty card. Hoping you feel better today.

Two fabulous cards, Patti! Love the colors on that first; so pretty! And great save on the coloring mishap; the pieced pot is perfect! I hope your tumble won't keep you down for too long.
