Romeo and Juliet...and a WINNER!

It's a beautiful day in Missouri.  A bit warm, but I'm not complaining!

DH and I, and some dear friends, spent a day together for DH's birthday yesterday.
We drove up to a darling little historical town, Kimmswick, Mo., had a delightful lunch, mile high pie (well I had chocolate turtle cheesecake :), then a quick trip into a nearby mall to take back some 'too small' (ugh) clothing.  We always enjoy time with our friends!

I have a cute card to show today. It was a lot of fun to color.  The image is from Impression-Obsession. It is H11019 - Romeo & Juliet.  What a sweet image!

Supplies: A Muse CS, Gina K. Designs CS, Impression Obsession H11019 Romeo & Juliet stamp, Copic Markers, Computer generated sentiment, Martha Stewart punch, Gingham brad from my stash, Black Colorbok CS

If you have any IO stamps, you still have a bit of time to enter their challenge! Some lucky random winner will win som IO money to shop with!

SO.....Speaking of money to shop with.  It's time to name the winner of my Itty Bitty Blog Candy!
The lucky winner, drawn randomly, is:  Sue Drees!  I am so excited that Sue's name was drawn. We have followed each others' blogs for a long time, and Sue has been a lifeline to our dear daughter since her DH's deployment.  It's so nice to be able to send her some goodness in return!
Sue, congratulations!!!
Drop me an email, and I will give you a gift card code to use at Repeat Impressions!

Thank you all for stopping by, and for being such good friends!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Food for thought:
Robert Byrne once said, "The purpose of life, is a life of purpose".

Wow, that's a good one!  Sometimes, I wonder what my purpose has been. I like to think that during my many years working for the school system, that I made a difference to some of the students.  I hope that over the years, I've been a good parent and a good Christian, and served a purpose there. In my crafting role, I hope that I've been a good cheerleader to long-time crafters, and a good mentor to new crafters!  Do you know what YOUR purpose in life has been?
Would love to read your comments on this food for thought! Might even throw out some more itty bitty candy to a lucky comment leaver!  Hugs...

What a wonderfully colored card Patti! I love it! As a Christian I believe my life's purpose is to bring people to a relationship with Jesus, to love Jesus, to help others around me, and to just try and be the image of Jesus to other people. I fail miserably a good portion of the time but know that his mercy and grace cover me. I hope you have a fantastic rest of your weekend Patti!

What good food for thought...

I think that our purposes might be kind of like our friendships in that there might be reason, season and lifetime purposes.

Sometimes our purpose is to make a difference in the life of one person during a smaller window of time, while other parts of our purpose might be life-long.

I do know that you've lived your purpose as a mom wonderfully and passionately. I can't imagine a mom who is more loving, supportive, or caring than you are.

I love you!

Patti, you know I love your cards. As a Christian I believe that I should plant a seed. You never know if it will grow where you plant it or if it will grow somewhere else but I believe that it does grow somewhere. So I try to continue to plant the seeds & believe that they are continually growing. I am learning more & more about you all of the time. :)

Hi Patti! Oh what a great card and what a great question!!! I think of it often, as it seems some of our "purposes" change with the different seasons of our lives.... but as a Christian, one purpose never changes and that is that we bring glory to God and enjoy a relationship with Him forever.... it's why He created us! As you said.... there are many ways we do that.... sharing our faith with others, encouraging others in their walk, helping to meet needs all around us.... being a reflection of His love to those we come in contact with! Thanks for the reminder today!
hugs,
Grace
