Patti J.Hello there! It's my day to share a Pick of the Week at The House that Stamps Built. The Repeat Impressions Stamps that I picked to showcase are:Here is my card...but it's not a regular card......it's a fun fold! It's called a W fold card, and I'm going to show you how to make one - it's SO easy! Here is the inside of the card:This card opens with the W mechanism in portrait mode. Here's a card that I made a while back that shows the W mechanism opening in landscape mode.I will include measurements for both folds. This card uses Repeat Impressions' Stamp 10307 H Patti's Flower OutlineAs you can see, I stamped on patterned paper, and fussy cut the flowers.
Okay, here we go!Card #1:Start with a card base that is cut to 5.5" x 8.5" and score at 4.25".Design card front as desired.Open card to inside. You can leave your card base as is, or add some patterned paper, colored cardstock panel, etc.Cut one strip of cardstock to 8.5" x 1". This will be your W mechanism.Score this strip at 2 1/8", 4 1/4", and 6 3/8".Fold into W shape like this:Apply adhesive to the two outside flaps, and glue to your card base like this:(you can see that the left fold is valley, the center is mountain, and the right is valley)Now it's time to decorate the inside squares! Here's what it looks like as it begins to fold flat. This fits nicely into a regulary A2 envelope! To create the landscape mechanism, simply cut your card base to 4.25" x 11".Cut one W mechanism to 1" x 11".Hope you will give this a try - it really is easy, and makes such a fun card! For this week only (June 15-21, 2019), get 20% Off the stamps used in Patti's creation above when you use the coupon code POTW71519Thanks for stopping by today!

This is fabulous! LOVING the design and the airplanes!
ReplyDeleteI love your card, Patti, and that red plane is just awesome! I'm SO literal, I don't know that I would have thought to make a red plane, but it looks fantastic! I love the W mechanism, too. I made a card like that once, and it's such an easy way to make a pretty impressive card. Thanks for reminding me to try it again.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute fold. I've cased it on one of my cards, look out for it :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tutorial, Patti.
Love the cards you created! So great for a masculine too!
Have a great day.
