Taking a break...

Wow!

A lot has happened since I last posted.

We bought a home in town, after being in our beautiful country home for 32 years. This brought mountains of paperwork, as you can imagine.

Then, I spent some time in the hospital with a strange form of pneumonia. I'm still very weak. If I get through one small task, I have to take a nap.

We will close on the new home on the 12th. The work begins on the new home, getting it ready to move into. Once that's done, clean up and repairs begin on our country home.

Anyway, I will probably be popping in and out from time to time, but first priority for me is getting my health back. I was apparently a very sick gal.

I will, of course try to keep up with my Scor-Pal requirements after June!

Time for a nap!

Hugs to you all,

Patti J.

Scor-Pal Mid Month Tutorial

It's already mid-June!  Where did this month go?

It's my turn to share a mid-month tutorial with you.
I had seen something like this done on Pinterest with jelly jars, and thought it would be fun to adapt measurements for some pretty little candles that I found at Wal-Mart for about $1 each.

Let's get started on this quick and easy gift idea!

Gather up your Scor-Pal, scissors, and Scor-Tape.

Cut 3 pieces of cardstock. I used a glitter pink because I liked the sparkle!
Cut 2 pieces at: 10.25" x 2.75"
Cut one piece at: 8.25" x 10.5" - Score the long side at 2.75" and 7.75".
Score the short side at 2.75" and 5.5".

Cut in to the fold lines on both of the long sides, and snip the two outer 'tabs' just a bit for easy alignment.

Turn your cardstock over, and apply Scor-Tape to the tabs.

Remove tape liner - fold and adhere tabs to inside to create box.

Your two smaller pieces will look like this after they are scored.

Flip them over, and apply tape.

Carefully adhere the two pieces, wrong sides together ONLY ON THE SECTIONS WITHOUT SCORE LINES, and using a punch or die of your choice, create a 'handle' opening.
Now, fold your two remaining flaps (each with two score lines) out to create a T.
Remove tape liner, and gently position the bottom of the T into the bottom of the box.
Remove the tape liner from the sides of the T and adhere them to the sides of the box.

Here is what your finished box looks like.

Add your candles, decorate your box as desired, and...

Voila!  A fun little gift package for someone special!

Thanks for stopping by today!

30 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 9

Hi all!

Had a great day today!
Shirley, Cheryl, Donna, Marian, and I went to Collinsville today to a stamp show - had a great time! Bought SO many fun things!  Taylored Expressions was there this year, and Taylor is adorable! Their booth was manned with knowledgeable, helpful, and plentiful staff, both on the floor, and at the registers.  Yay, TE!

High point of the day was getting to meet Vicki Parson, a blogging friend, and her mom Doris!
We met and went to lunch together. Had a wonderful visit, and I'm already looking forward to next year's show, and getting to see them again! Vicki is incredibly sweet and uber-talented!

Here's my coloring for Day 9 of the 30 Day Coloring challenge!
I used a coloring page item that I purchased at last year's Collinsville show. I don't know who the vendor was, unfortunately...

Have a great night, and a wonderful Sunday!

Hugs and blessings,

Patti J.

30 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 7

Howdy!
It's Thursday, and I'm looking forward to the weekend. How about you? Funny how I still look forward to those two days, even having been retired many years.  Of course, THIS Saturday is our annual girl's day out to Collinsville, Il., for the yearly stamp show.  Be still my heart! New treasures to look forward to, and a whole day with good friends!

Here's what the Copics colored for Day 7 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge:

This is a digital image from Power Poppy, called 'Layer Cake'.  Have you ever been to Power Poppy and looked at Marcella's gorgeous flowers?  Oh my goodness, they are a dream to work with!

I'm going to enter this in the Hues to Use challenge at Power Poppy.
Here are the inspiration colors:

Thanks for dropping by to visit, and support me in this coloring endeavor.
I love to color, but coloring and posting 30 days in a row is stretching my brain!

Hugs to all,

Patti J.

30 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 6

Hi ya!

Seriously, I am SO surprised to be here typing this. Six days in a row have found me relaxing with a coloring medium in hand!  I'm loving this - can't wait for tomorrow!

Here is my coloring for Day 6 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  It's a fun little Penny Black image called Beach Baby.

I've added polka dots to her swimsuit, drawn stripes on her towel, and added some water, birds and sand. I think she's darling, and couldn't resist giving her a bit of sunburn. That's what is ALWAYS my result when I get out in the sun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Wednesday,
Patti J.

30 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 5

Bet you didn't expect to see me back today.
To be honest, I'm really wondering how I'll make it through 30 days - YIKES!

Anyway, here is my coloring for Day 5 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  It's a sweet Art Impressions stamp. Hope you like it!

Happy Tuesday!
I got to spend today with my bestie - we got pedicures, had lunch, and picked up a few groceries. It was a great morning!!!

I'm entering this in the Word Art Wednesday challenge Weeks #336-337 - Anything Goes.

Hugs and smiles,

30 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 4

Gosh, four days in a row!  Are you as surprised as I am?

Lol....thanks for stopping by today!
Here is my card for Day 4 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge:

This is another beautiful image drawn by my friend, Mynn Kitchen.
It's been colored with Copic Markers.  I sort of did a reverse 'outside the box' technique. I started with the black matting panel with a circle cut out.  I laid it over the image and made pencil marks at the points that the black mat would cover, and trimmed them to overhang the mat. Added a fun little Memory Box die cut, adhered to a peach card base, and voila!

Hope you're coloring this month, too!

I'm off to enter this in the Cropstop challenge-June Link Party #40

Hugs and lots of smiles,

Patti J.

30 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 3

Here is my creation for Day 3:

This sweet little image was on a 12 x 12 sheet of images that I bought in Collinsville, Il., last summer at a Stamp Show. I don't know who the vendor was, but I am definitely going to look for some more of these sheets on June 9th, when I go again to the show!

Hopefully, I haven't bored you to tears. I'm quite proud that I've colored three days in a row!  Going to try to create tomorrow, as well!

Have a great evening, my friends!

Hugs and blessings,

Patti J.

30 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 2

Here is my card for Day 2:

This pretty image and sentiment were created by Mynn Kitchen, of MHK Designs. She's so talented, and I have fun coloring her images! Sadly, Mynn closed her store in May. I will miss her beautiful work!

Hugs and blessings!

30 Day Coloring Challenge

Happy Sunday, everyone!

After wishing forEVER that I had time to take part, I finally decided to MAKE time to participate in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  Whew.....what was I thinking?  Lol, it's really therapeutic and very good for me!  I'm using up a lot of pre-printed, pre-stamped images that I've had in a box.

Without further ado, here is Day 1:

Here's a closer image of this poor sunburned fella!

This fun image is a Bug-a-Boo image!  I was going to enter this in a challenge someplace, where the theme is 'Summer', and the sponsor is Bug-a-Boo, but I can't remember where the challenge is!  If you know, please tell me!!!

Have a great evening, my friends!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Fun with Nuggets!

Good morning!
Happy Sunday - hope you're enjoying your weekend.

So, I had a bag of Nuggets in my CRoffice (craft room/office that I share with dear hubby). Said bag of chocolate nuggets were terrorizing me - they had to go! After spending a little time thinking, and stewing, I did the only smart thing I could think of - Yep, I went to Pinterest!

There is a group of 'older' Sunday School folks that I try to spoil every few weeks or so, and after I saw this idea on Pinterest, I decided that's where the Nuggets would go.

Here's what I made...cute, right?

They're not hard, very little labor involved, and cute as can be!

Hope the group enjoys them this morning!

Thanks for stopping by,

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Scor-Pal Challenge 'Pretty in Pink'

Hi everyone!

It skipped spring and went right to summer Missouri. That's okay with me, as I'm always cold!

It's time for a new challenge on the Scor-Pal blog - 'Pretty in Pink'. Creations need to include more than one fold, and the 'Pretty in Pink' theme.

Here is my project for today:

This cute little box is holding two Vanilla scented candles. Pretty cute, right?
I'm hoping the recipient will like it!

If you check back here on the 15th, I'll show you how to make these!

For this project, I used my Scor-Pal Eighths, & 1/2" Scor-Tape.

Thanks for looking!

I hope to see your creations in our monthly Scor-Pal challenge!

We also have a ton of inspiration on our Projects on the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to help you get creative!Challenge at Scor-Pal!

Happy June!
