Hi there!
And hello sunshine! After all of the dreary days we have had lately, the sun is a lovely change. The ice and snow are beginning to melt away, and I might even get the car down the driveway by mid week!
I have a card to share today that I created for my chemo lady.
Colorbok CS, Memory Box 'Meadow Birds' D1376, Hero Arts Sentiment, Satin Ribbon: Papermart, Embossing folder: Nellie's Choice HSF004 'Oval Frame 1' purchased from Joan's Gardens. |
I liked the crispness of the black and white, with just the touch of blue. Hope my lady likes it :)
Yesterday was the annual YMCA Women's Wellness Weekend. Each year, I volunteer my time, and supplies, and teach lots of ladies to love what we all love! We made some very cute things yesterday, and I hope it's okay that I share them here!
First is a card that totally CASED a layout by the uber-talented Monika Davis! You can see her card HERE. I didn't have the stamp that she used, so decided that the Memory Box stamp used above would work very well. The ladies absolutely loved it, and were just beaming when they had created it all by themselves! Here is the card:
Colorbok DP, Colorbok Black CS, Hammermill 110# white CS, Versafine Black Ink |
Next up on yesterday's agenda, was a corner bookmark. This was easy peasy. Followed a template that I purchased a LONG time ago from Donna at Butternut Sage Designs. Just a basic triangle with a bit of funky trimming at the bottom, and the addition of a loop of ribbon, and a flower (theirs was much prettier, and about twice the size as mine) from Target's $1 bin.
Our next project was a post-it note holder. I did not have a 'template' for this. I just placed the post it on a rectangle of CS, and put score lines where score lines should go, decorated the panels, and added a velcro closure, and a computer generated initial. Again, the ladies were very impressed with themselves!
Last, but certainly not least, was an Easter Basket, using an adorable pre-colored image from Doodle Pantry. This was actually one of the very first projects that I ever made as a papercrafter. I have no idea where the original template came from, but I found a pattern at Stamp TV in the Freebies section. Theirs called for beginning with an 8" square, and 2.5" sides. I adjusted this one to begin with a 7" square, with 2" sides, so that I wouldn't have to furnish quite as much chocolate :)
I think they were very pleased!
I had two workshops yesterday. Each session created the same projects, so there were different ladies in each session. The first session began at 2:00 p.m., and I was finished with first AND second sessions by 5:00 p.m. Whew....I felt like I'd run a marathon! The room was set up in a U shape, and the tables were about 10' apart, so if I helped on the left side of the room, and was needed on the right side of the room, I certainly got some much needed exercise!
Well, hope this wasn't too terribly boring! Wanted to post before I got sidetracked and forgot!
Back to the drawing board. Am working on some publication calls this afternoon...and then back to taxes tomorrow :(
Have a great evening,
Patti J.

Hello my friend! I'm so glad you are getting to soak up some sun! Your chemo friend will love that card. So pretty. The blue and the black look great together and that embossed frame is gorgeous. I know the ladies in your workshop enjoyed making that cute little basket! You go girl! I need to look at publication calls, but my heart just isn't in it this week. Things are not going well with my mother this week and she had a temper tantrum which is making a bad situation worse. Pray for us please. Specifically that we will not have to postpone her surgery next week because her SSI has been put on hold. We need favor in someone's eyes in that office. We need someone to just call us back. If she doesn't get SSI .... she doesn't get medicaid. Hope you have a fabulous week my friend! hugs!
ReplyDeleteWowie!! What Fabulous projects Patti!! Love them all!! So Pretty and cheery & heartfelt all at the same time! Couldn't pick a favorite if I tried!! 8-)
ReplyDeleteHugs
