Meow....

Happy Monday!

Hello everyone.  Hope that your weekend was a good one.  I was blessed with getting some time with DD last week, and with some crafting time this weekend, while DH is hunting.  Life is good :)

There was a tutorial on Andrea Walford's blog that was part of her 12 Weeks of Christmas, and featured a CD holder type packet.  When I watched the video, I first was skeptical that I'd use it for much, but suddenly, watching hers fill with those little candies, I began to think about the Pet Shelter!  So.....here is my version, and it's filled with some little cat treats that my friend Shirley, donated to the cause!  The only stamping was on the tag, and it's from the Amuse Holiday Tags set.

Here is what I did with the package:

(Cropped off my label...lol)
The DP is some that that Dawn Lotharius sent for the shelter, in a fabulous pet-themed care package.  Turned out pretty cute, don't you think?  I had to use an old Coluzzle for the opening and red oval mat, as the project is a bit wider than 6", so it won't fit through a Cuttlebug, and hand held punches weren't deep enough.  Someday, I hope to have a Grand Calibur - especially, as I may make a LOT of these for the holidays!!!

The photo doesn't do the basket justice, as that shrinky dinky gift bag didn't work well, but here is an idea of what the basket looks like.  I neglected to take photos of the kitty food treat containers that I made (sigh...), and it's very hard to make out any details, but hopefully, you can get the idea!  Thanks so much to my dear friend Shirley, who contributed a LOT to this basket!

Have a great week,
Patti J.

Food for thought:  The replacement cost for trust, costs far more than the original purchase price.

  9. How great is that! Wondered what you were up to and then I saw Paige subbing at TKC and then I knew, she told all! Maybe when this 'work' thing slows down we can get together and do some of this.

  15. Great idea Patty! I like the little treat container idea. We have some friends and relatives that we take little 'care' packages to and when they have a pet it's nice to include the furry friend as well. This is a great frestive way to share some treats.
Thanks for sharing the fun idea!
