Go St. Louis, and Flake...

Happy Monday!
Hope all is well - sounds like some of you had wonderful weekends!
Ours was great! DD ran the Go St. Louis Marathon (she ran the 1/2 - not the whole) and we got to watch her run, spent time that day with friends we had not seen in a long time, and generally had a great time. We are proud of her - 13.1 miles is more than I care to drive some days, much less walk or run!!!

Several weeks ago, I think that I posted about our dog, Flake, having to have some growths removed and tested. I thought I'd just check in and let you all know that the place that was biopsied came back as benign. We were thrilled about that. The biopsy folks did say that it was a 'pre-cancerous' (can't remember the long word they used) growth, and that while it is not cancer, it bears watching, as it could come back as cancer.

Flake as she normally looks

View of Flake's back, a few days after her surgery. She had places taken of stomach, legs, ears, belly, and sides, as well.

Anyway, we are hoping for the best, expecting the best, and are very pleased with the results!!!

Have a great day!

Hugs,
Patti J.

Food for thought: You can't have everything - where in the world would you put it???

Hope Flake gots lots of extra hugs and cuddles for her 'war wounds'. I'm happy for her and for you that the growths were benign and hope that she continues to enjoy good health for a very long time. She is so beautiful ... what a face!

  4. Well I can do 2 miles - but that is walking - our big girl dogs insist on walking EVERY day. Good pics of Nick and Melissa - and glad you enjoyed the day. Pretty girl flake sure knows how to "pose" for a pretty picture. Glad all went well.

  9. Wow, quite an accomplishment for your daughter and I'm so happy she got to compete. For me a block to walk is too far anymore.....lol

Flake is so pretty and it's so sad when our babies have to have these things done. I have a silver schnauzer and it seems he's always having to have a tag removed, meds for his allergies, or something done and it breaks my heart. It's like having another child to care for but such a joy. Give Flake a big hug for me and a little rubbing behing he ears. "Hugs" Carol

  10. Thank goodness they were benign! Hug her gently for me. As for your daughter, thank goodness she does that. I use to jog 5 miles 3 times a week. You can sure tell I don't any more. They say running like that lengthens our lives. I wonder how much. LOLOLOL

  18. God love little Flake! How did I miss that she was having this surgery???? OMG! I would have been super worried. . .I'm so glad it wasn't cancerous. Giants have skin problems too, and they have bumps, all mostly cysts. Poor little thing. I'm sorry she had to go through this. I hope she is better. Yea for DD! Hell, if they took a picture of me AFTER the race like hers, you would see me on the ground surrounded by paramedics in the photo HA! Best, Curt
