Rain

Hello friends!

I'm up on the Technique Junkies blog to share three pretty cards, using beautiful stamps and a new stencil from Technique Junkies

I have to say that this sentiment set stole the show today!!!  Let me show you what I created!

This first card is 'pretty in pink'.  It features a brand new stencil, 'Rain', and the fun new stamp set, #SS141 Rain Sentiments. I also used an older stamp that I love, #SD642 Rain Dance. First, the image & sentiment were stamped with Black Versafine, for a vivid silhouette image. I stamped the image again onto pink dotted patterned paper, and fussy cut the umbrella and shoes, adhering them over top of the original image.  I used just the 'rain' on the stencil, some gray ink & an Ink Blending Brush.

Next up, is a card using the entire stencil, umbrella and all. The stencil was laid down on white cardstock, and spritzed with Dolphin Cove Shimmering Bliss (wish you could see the shimmer!). The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Black Ink. I distressed the edges a bit, then dry embossed the panel, matted it onto black cardstock, then a white base. Very easy card, and super quick!

For this last card, I used Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink, and an Ink Blending Brush, using the stencil as the focal point.

I have loved this release, and cannot WAIT for you to see next month's beauties!

So glad you stopped by today!

One Layer Card

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is to create a 'Clean and Simple One Layer Card'.

Here's what I made:

The dragongflies, dots, and sentiments were stamped in several different colors on the card base.
That's it!!! I just grabbed 3 dragonfly stamps, the dot stamp, a sentiment, and some colored inks...voial!

I used these Repeat Impressions' stamps:

Let's see your projects! Remember, you don't HAVE to use Repeat Impressions Stamps, but if you do, you have double the chance of winning!

Thinking of You

Hello!

I have a pretty card to share today!

For this card, I smeared some colors of Distress Oxide Inks, spritzed them with water, and 'smooshed' my stamped panel, using #S941 Pile of Leaves, into the ink puddles, until I got the aged and weathered effect that I was trying to achieve. The sentiment, from the #SS02b Simple Sentiments Set 2, Style b set, was stamped in black ink on the same color cardstock as the card base. The focal panel and sentiment were layered onto the card base.

Super easy! Give it a try!

Outdoor Fun

Hi friends!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is 'Outdoor Fun'.

This challenge called for a retirement card! Can't you just imagine a new retiree sitting in his adirondack chair under this tree?

Here's what I made:

I found a gorgeous piece of patterned paper, and added a strip of gold dotted Washi tape. It was then adhered to the white card base. The sentiment and image were stamped on another coordinating piece of cardstock with brown Memento ink, matted in white, and popped up on the base with dimensional foam squares. I like how this one turned out!

I used these Repeat Impressions' stamps:

Pick of the Week - Gettin' Tacky

Hi everyone!

It's my turn to share a Pick of the Week at The House that Stamps Built

My MoJo is on a vacation, again. So, today, I chose to feature a very quick and easy crafty tip.

The Repeat Impressions Stamp that I used for this card is:

My tip is all about saving money!  I'm sure, if you're like me, you are always and forever trying the newest glue on the market, and spending a fortune!  The other day, I realized one of my fine line glue tips had clogged, and I'll have to order some new ones. BUT...I needed a fine line of glue NOW, not in 5 or 6 days!  What's a crafty gal to do?

I grabbed a tiny $1.00 tube of Tacky glue.

When you first take the cap off your glue, you normally have to cut off the end to get the glue to flow through. The bottle on the right shows the lid on, and the bottle on the left shows the lid off, prior to cutting the tip off.

The next thing I did, was take the quilting pin, and gently move it, rotating it back and forth, thile gently pushing it down into the bottle top.

I kept going until I was all the way through...

And here is the extra fine line of glue that I was able to put onto my focal panel!
Pretty awesome, right???

It was ironic that I got an order for another card using 'THAT' paper, and the lovely sentiment from Repeat Impressions.  Here is my finished card:

This shot better shows the shine of the paper.

Well, hope you'll give this a try! We are going to begin doing this, and including a small bottle of glue in each class participants supply box, as we begin doing person to person workshops again!

Sort of a sneaky way to save money!

Grab those RI stamps and give this a try!

In All Things of Nature

Hello!
I have a pretty card to share today!

I started with a Kraft base, and 3 strips of patterned paper scraps. I adhered the paper strips to the card, spacing them equally. Then, I used my score board to score lines over the entire card. After the base was finished, I stamped #SS138 Leaf Corner Sentiments, Set of 3 with Brown Memento Ink. I turned the card base, and stamped again, creating a frame for the sentiment (also stamped in brown). The image was distressed a bit, fussy cut, and popped up on the card base using dimensional squares. A few dots of glossy accents here and there finished this card nicely!

Super easy! Give it a try!

So glad you stopped by today!

Pile of Leaves

Hello creative friends!

I'm here on the Technique Junkies blog to share two pretty cards featuring items from from the Technique Junkies new release.

Here's what I created:

For this first card, I stamped the background, #S941 Pile of Leaves with Versamark Ink, and heat embossed with gold powder onto black cardstock.  I then stamped #SS138 Leaf Corner Sentiments, set of 3 and heat embossed in gold onto craft cardstock. Using an Ink Blending Brush, I distressed the sentiment panel a bit prior to matting with black cardstock. The sentiment panel was popped up on the card base with dimensional foam pieces.

Here is my 2nd card:

I love the way this card looks! The image was stamped once, the cardstock turned around, and stamped again, creating a lovely frame around the sentiment. I chose a greenish tan color of cardstock, and heat embossed everything using Tim Holtz Rustic Wilderness Embossing Glaze. The pieces were assembled, and a tiny twine bow was added.

What a fun release to work with!

These were both fun to create - I've so enjoyed this release!

So glad you stopped by today!

One, Two, Three...

Howdy, friends!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is to use a '1, 2, 3' theme on our cards - 1 stamp, 2 patterned papers, and 3 embellishments!

What a fun theme!

Here's what I created for this challenge:

Always Something...

Hello!

I have 2 pretty, fall cards to share today!

Here's my first card:

My background was a simple 'smooshing' technique. I made a smear of light blue ink, spritzed it, and drug my cardstock into it, until I liked the finished look. The sentiment was popped up with some foam dots prior to adhering to focal panel.  I love this sentiment - this is how I try to look at each day, thus my blog name!

For this card, I used a pretty fall colored ink, and again, smooshed #S912 Leaf Collage until I liked the effect. The sentiment 'SD799 Art of God', was popped up on foam prior to adhering to the focal image.

So glad you stopped by today!

Shimmer and Shine

Hello!
So glad you dropped in to see me today!

It's time for a new challenge at The House that Stamps Built! Our challenge for this week is to use a 'Shimmer and Shine' theme on our cards.

What a fun theme! I can't wait to see your Shimmer and Shine!

Here's what I created for this challenge:

Sadly, it seems I always need a sympathy card. I decided to use a much hoarded piece of shimmery cardstock for this card. This was an easy one. I stamped the sentiment, mounted it onto gold cardstock, and assembled my layers...ta da, ta done.

I used this lovely Repeat Impressions' stamp:

Have a Wicked Halloween

Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog. Halloween is going to be here before we know it, so today, I am sharing 2 cards featuring #S946 Halloween Doodles, from Technique Junkies

Here's my first card:

This card began by stamping the focal image with black Memento Ink, and coloring the entire panel with Copic Markers.  The panel was mounted onto tan cardstock. Last, the sentiment, #SD1047 Wicked Halloween was stamped onto a piece of dry embossed vellum, using Staz-On Ink. This piece was stapled to the card with a Tim Holtz Tiny Stapler.

Moving on to card two:

This was easy and quick. Everything was stamped onto Kraft, and layered together as shown. I used Versafine Black Ink so it would be a dark coverage. What a difference in the two cards!

Don't forget! Until September 8th, all new release items are 15% off! No code needed, they will be reduced during check-out.

So glad you stopped by today!

Ghosties Night

Hello!

It's Release day at Technique Junkies! We have some great new fall stamps for you, and all of them are 15% off through Sept. 8th! No codes are needed, just put them in your shopping cart and the discount will be applied at checkout.

Here is the Gotta Have it All Bundle, and a little preview of the new stamps:

Wow! It's time to be making those cards for Halloween and Fall recipients, already. I've had a bit of fun with the new seasonal stamps! I chose today, to post some Halloween Ghosts. Don't worry, they're pretty friendly - hope they make you smile!

Here is my first card:

For the first card, I stamped the entire Image #S934 Ghosties Night with black Versafine Ink, onto white cardstock. That focal panel was trimmed down, and adhered to a white mat. The focal panel was then adhered to a 5 x 7 black card base. The finishing touch was to add a sentiment. I chose 'Just Hi' from the #SS02b Simple Sentiments Set 2, Style B set, and heat embossed with white powder. I like the way this one turned out. Clean and simple!

And here is card number two:

This one was fun. I die cut a frame, and the BOO from black cardstock. The #S934 Ghosties Night was again stamped on white cardstock, but I chose to fussy cut 4 ghosts, and stick them into the window openings.  This card made me smile, but it needed something more than a solid white background, so I masked off the center, and spritzed the card front with Shimmering Bliss 'Chestnut Mare'. I wish you could see the pretty shimmer in real life!

So....which one is your favorite?

I hope you like these fun new release items, and can't wait for you to see the rest of this release!
