Pie Slice Box - The Cutting Cafe

Good morning!

Today, I'm sharing a cute project that was made with one of the fun files at The Cutting Cafe.
This little pie slice box can be filled with pie, to other small treats!

Sadly, this is my last post for this wonderful company. I'm trying to empty my overflowing 'plate' a bit, with some spring travels in the future. I'll be traveling to DC to help with a new grandbaby in the spring!  I will miss the team - Regina Easter is a talented, amazing, kind, and wise person, and I'll miss working for her.

On to business at hand...

I'm using the Pie Slice Box. Being the rebel that I am, I used the template in a non-traditional way - rather than having it open flat to hold a slice of pie, I punched some holes, added some pretty lights to the inside, and made a pretty home decor piece.

Once again, I have used the PDF version. All pieces were easily cut out by hand.  No cutting machine? No worries!  Just grab your scissors, print your pieces and have fun cutting!  I do have a Silhouette machine, but for some reason, it's not cutting correctly, so until I get things figured out, I'll be using my little scissors!

The Cutting Cafe has a LOT of fun files and inspiration, and the holidays are just around the corner!  Regina has projects for every holiday, sports, etc., that are sure to bring smiles to recipients!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe often to see what new and fun items Regina is adding!

And be sure to check out the Cutting Cafe blog - there's always lots of inspiration there.

Happy Monday, ya'll...have a wonderful week!

Sunday School Treats

Hello, friends!

I'm sharing a fun treat that I made for one of the adult Sunday School classes.  I didn't hear anyone say 'ewwww' on Sunday, so I think they must have liked them!

This idea was entirely cased from Melissa Davies, a very talented paper crafter.  You can find her blog HERE.

I had seen this pop up in her blog one day, and the very next day, I saw these cute chocolate penguins at Schnuck's, and thought to myself, "Self...you SO need to make these for your friends at church". Since 'self' is well behaved, and ALWAYS listens, 'self' created ten of these:

Pretty cute, right?

I used up some designer paper scraps that were lying around from other projects, and voila!
A fun, yummy, easy to make treat!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Christmas Tree Treat Box - The Cutting Cafe

Good morning!

Today, I'm sharing a cute gift box made using one of the fun files at The Cutting Cafe.
This box can be filled with all sorts of cute little things, and can be used for young or old, male or female.

I'm using the Christmas Tree Treat Box. Once again, I have used the PDF version. There were only two pieces, and all straight lines - easy peasy!  No cutting machine? No worries!  Just grab your scissors, print your pieces and have fun cutting!  I do have a Silhouette machine, but for some reason, it's not cutting correctly, so until I get some answers, I'll be using my little scissors!

The Cutting Cafe has a LOT of fun files and inspiration, and the holidays are just around the corner!  Regina has projects for Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, New Years, etc., that are sure to bring smiles to recipients!

Here's what I made using the Christmas Tree Treat Box template:

I filled the little box with candy canes - hopefully it will brighten someone's day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Scor-Pal - Anything Goes, Holiday!

It's time for a new monthly challenge at Scor-Pal!

This month, the challenge was to create something with a holiday theme, and of course, more than one fold!

Christmas is sneaking up on us, so, I thought I'd make a box to hold a pretty scarf I'd purchased for someone special.

Here's what I made, using my Scor-Pal Eighths1/2" Scor-Tape, and 1/4" Scor-Tape:

Here is the completed project:

Did you know that you can make your own boxes for nearly any of your small gifts?

Here's how I did this:

I began with a sheet of cardstock that measured 8.5" x 11", and scored it at 2" on all four sides.

Burnish all score lines. On the box bottom, on two opposite sides, snip in to the fold line, creating 4 tabs. Trim the tabs inward a bit, to create a better fit, and add Scor-Tape.

Begin removing tape liners, and assembling box.

Here is what your box bottom looks like now.
The box dimensions are 4 5/8" x 7 1/8".

Now you need a lid!
You will need to begin with your box dimensions. Your box width is 4 5/8". Since the lid needs to be a bit bigger, you need to add about 1/8" to that measurement.  Next, you will need to add your 'wall' height.  I chose to make my 'walls' 3/4" tall, so I added 3/4" to each side.
4 5/8" + 1/8" + 3/4" + 3/4" = 6 1/4"
7 1/8" + 1/8" + 3/4" + 3/4" = 8 3/4"
My box lid fit just a tad loosely, so if I were to duplicate this lid, I'd cut it just a smidge smaller.

Score at 3/4" on all four sides, burnish fold lines, and assemble lid, just like you did the box.

I cut a piece of white cardstock and glued into the top, for a sturdier box lid.
Here's the finished lid:

Here's the pretty scarf that I found at a Cracker Barrel nearby.

All snugged in tissue paper and boxed up, ready to give away!

Embellish your box top as desired, and you're finished!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I hope that you'll make something fun this month, and enter it in the 'More than one fold' 'Holiday' challenge at Scor-Pal

If we have 10 or more entries, a winner is chosen randomly, and that winner gets to shop in the Scor-Pal online store!  It could be YOU!!!

Have a great December!!!
