Sketch Challenge at The House that Stamps Built

Happy Wednesday ya'll!

It's time for a new Sketch Challenge at The House that Stamps Built!

This is a sad post for me.  Due to lots of things going on in my life, I needed to step down from the Repeat Impressions Design Team, and this will be my last post.  These ladies are like family, and I will miss each one of them.  Wendy, you're the best 'boss' ever - call if you need me!

Here is the fun sketch that Wendy gave us to create with:

 I didn't even flip this one, although I did think about it!!!

Here's what I created, using this Repeat Impressions Stamps:

 Sweet Santa has a puffy beard, hat and cuffs on his shirt and pants. Also, there is some shine, with the addition of Glossy Accents to the holly berries, Santa's eyes, mouth, belt buckle and boot buckles.

 As I'm typing this post, I realized that someplace on my work space is a small white pennant that is supposed to be on the upper right corner of this card. So, pleas feel free to use your imagination!

I loved this stamp and sketch - very fun and wonky lines.

Anything Goes at The House that Stamps Built

The Cutting Cafe - Tissue Box Cover

Good morning!

Today, I'm sharing a cute project that was made with one of the fun files at The Cutting Cafe.

This bag can be filled with all sorts of things, and leans a bit to the manly side, which is something I always seem to need, and have trouble creating!

I'm using the Tissue Box Cover. Once again, I have used the PDF version. All pieces were easily cut out by hand.  No cutting machine? No worries!  Just grab your scissors, print your pieces and have fun cutting!  I do have a Silhouette machine, but for some reason, it's not cutting correctly, so until I get things figured out, I'll be using my little scissors!

The Cutting Cafe has a LOT of fun files and inspiration, and the holidays are just around the corner!  Regina has projects for every holiday, sports, etc., that are sure to bring smiles to recipients!

Here's what I made using the Tissue Box Cover:

Here's a view of the lid, embellished with designer paper.

And here is a view of the inside of the box.  I chose to have a bottom in mine for stability, but you can also use just the 'wrap' without a bottom.

Project of the Week - Repeat Impressions Stamps

Good morning!

I'm the Monday morning hostess at The House that Stamps Built. It's my turn to share a 'Project of the Week' with all of you.  Today, I chose to share a tutorial for the easiest EVER treat box.

For this tutorial, I'm using this Repeat Impressions stamp:

2107 H Noel

Cut a piece of card stock to 6.5" x 6.5".

Score at 2" on each side.

This is what your 'box' will look like:

Cut off the 4 corners and burnish your score lines nice and crisp.

Take a small hole punch and punch each side of each flap.

Now it looks like this.

Burnish your fold lines one more time for grins...

Take some Baker's Twine or gold cording, and tie up your corners.

Decorate as desired.

Fill boxes with something delightful!

That's it - you're done!

Truly the easiest box ever, right?

On the dotted box, there were no added panels, green card stock was used for matting, and Baker's Twine was used for the ties.

On the striped box, I cut and adhered four panels that were 2.25" x 1.75", gold metallic card stock was used for matting, and Gold cording for the ties.

When I looked at the Inspiration Photo, I immediately noticed the colors and ornaments, and that was my jumping off point!  Here is my card, using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

Scor-Pal Special Gift Packaging

It's time for a new monthly challenge at Scor-Pal!

It's the middle of the month, and I'm here to remind you about the November challenge!
You still have lots of time to enter your project!

This month, the challenge was to create a special gift packaging.

With Christmas fast approaching, I decided to made a little box to hold some hot cocoa and fixins.

Here's what I made, using my Scor-Pal Eighths, 1/2" Scor-Tape, and 1/4" Scor-Tape:

And here's how I did it:

First, I laid everything out to determine an approximate size of my box.

(Please ignore my post it pad - I forgot to remove it prior to taking pics)

After trying a few different layouts, I decided on a box that would be a finished size of 5.5" x 3.5", so...

I began with a piece of cardstock that measured 8.5" x 6.5", and scored it on all four sides at 1.5".

I burnished all fold lines, and trimmed in a bit on each of the flaps for a cleaner fold,

as shown below.  Scor-tape was added to all four flaps.

Here's the finished box.

Next, the box needed a 'back', so I took a 5/5" x 11" panel, and scored on the long side at 3/5".

The next step was to make a decorative top to the box, using a die, as shown below.

A piece of designer cardstock was cut to 5.25" wide, the same die was used to scallop the top,

and the length was cut to 6 7/8" from center point to bottom edge.

Add Scor-Tape to the back of cardstock.

 Here's the finished panel.

Adhere the patterned panel to the green base. Set aside.

Add Scor-Tape to the bottom and back edge of 'box, and adhere to your box 'back'.

It will look like this:

Cut 1 strip of cardstock 1/25" x 5/25" for the front edge of box.

Cut 2 strips of cardstock 1/25" x 3 3/8" for the two sides of the box.

Add some shredding material to your box.

Arrange items in box, wrap with cellophane, if desired, and deliver to happy recipient!

Painted Harvest

Happy Saturday!

My handsome hunter is out in the woods today, allowing me some time in the 

CRoffice (craft room-office).

I'm sharing something different with you today. Once in a while, a company comes out with a set that is so versatile, and SO elegant.  This post is using one of those amazing sets!  Stampin'Up! came out with this 'Painted Harvest' set a while back. It's sat in my basket unopened until Wednesday.  On Wednesday, I opened the set, and made EIGHT cards in about an hour.  Yep, EIGHT!

If that wasn't enough, I got up this morning, opened it again, and made EIGHT cute little gifts for my group of folks at church that I love to spoil a bit.  These were also completed in an hour.

A few ink pads, my MISTI, and this awesome stamp set saved me hours of work this week, 

and I think the finished products were all beautiful.  I'm very proud of them, and hope

the recipients will enjoy getting them in the mail.

Okay, enough jabber - here's what I made!

Just finished one more card using this set - had to share it, too!!!

I'm going to enter it in the challenge at Word Art Wednesday.
