Sketch Challenge at The House that Stamps Built

Hello!
So glad you stopped by today!

It's time for a new Sketch Challenge at The House that Stamps Built!

Here is the sketch that we were given to create with:

Here's what I created, using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

9717-C Happy Hello
9716-H Fish Face
9718-G Plant

This photo shows close up view.  The 'bubbles' were just varied sizes of punched white
cardstock, with Glossy Accents.  The fish were cut from a pretty patterned paper pad (Stampin'Up)
and fussy cut.  The eyes and mouth were also painted with Glossy Accents. The fish on the
left is adhered directly to the panel, while the fish on the right is popped up with dimensional foam.

I loved these fun stamps! The sketch was totally fun to work with, as well!

Now, it's your turn!
Come on over and join us in our Sketch Challenge!
Remember, you don't HAVE to use Repeat Impressions Stamps
but if you do, you have double the chance of winning!
I can't wait to see your beautiful cards using this sketch!!!

(Not So) Moody Blues Challenge

Hello, hello!

Thanks to my friend Beth, for reminding me that I was going to create something for this challenge!  Lol... so, guess what I just did???

I have to tell you about THAT MOMENT, when the card was finished.  I looked at the photo on the screen, and realized there was a fabulous thumb smudge on the right edge of the card.

So, what's a girl to do?  AHA - I'll hide it behind my watermark!

Okay, just for fun, here is the smudge in all of its glory - it's a smudge-y kind of day,
so if you want to giggle, feel free - I certainly have been!

Supplies used:
Impression Obsession Seashell Collage K4364
Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink
Blue Cardstock
Tiny Blue Gemstones

Hope you're having a good day!
Keep smiling...

Happy Birthday, Wendy!

Good Morning!

Today, we are celebrating a very special lady!

Wendy Wyman, owner of Repeat Impressions Stamps, has a birthday today,
and we all want to wish her a wonderful day...

When Wendy was just 4 years old, she announced that she was going to be an artist when she grew up.  Many years, and many sketchbooks later, she had earned a BFA in Graphic Design.

The next 11 years found Wendy worked in advertising, freelancing, and running a printing company.

And then it happened...Wendy's mom became a stamping addict, and the rest was history!  It was Wendy's mom's encouragement that led her to turn her illustrations into fine art rubber stamps.

Wendy's husband Bill, was also looking for a career change, and jumped at the idea of learning a new skill.  And so....in 1996, Wendy and Bill established Repeat Impressions Stamps.  Each stamp is designed by Wendy, and manufactured by Bill in their home workshop!

We hope that you will join us today, as we hop together for Wendy!

A note to Wendy from all of us:

Wendy, you are the sweetest, and most generous person we know.
As a 'boss', rarely do we find ourselves working for someone that is more professional,
or more organized!  You are so understanding of our personal issues, and it's a joy to work with you and your products!

We want to wish you a very Happy Birthday!
We each look up to you, we admire you, and we respect you.
May your day today be filled with love and laughter!

And remember....the more candles you have, the bigger the wish you are allowed!

Wendy's designs are so much fun to work with.
Here are a few of my favorite Repeat Impressions creations:

Please hop along to see what my fellow Rock Stars have to share for Wendy!

Thanks for hopping with us!  If you have a minute, please go to the RI blog, The House that Stamps Built, and leave Wendy a bit of Birthday love!!!

Hugs and smiles,

Patti J.

Your Next Stamp Challenge

Hi there!

A few weeks ago, when we traveled to see family, we took our beautiful granddaughter on a train ride in their local mall.  This is just a small rubber tired train, consisting of an engine and three cars, but she loves the Choo Choo of the train whistle, getting to ride with PawPaw and Grandma, and waving at her parents, and her baby brother while they watch.

When I saw this darling set 'All Aboard', from Your Next Stamp, I knew I had to have it.  PawPaw and I sent our sweet granddaughter a card to thank her for letting us ride the train with her. When I sat
down yesterday to create this card, I saw the challenge at YNS, and decided to follow the sketch.
I very loosely followed the colors as well.

Here is their inspiration:

And here is my card:

Here's the inside of the card:

The photographs didn't do well, as there is glossy accents on the train windows.  As you can see, she already likes to drive :)

I will be entering this card in the Your Next Stamp Sketch and Color Challenge #60.
Hope to see you enter there, as well.

Thanks for dropping by today - hope your week is off to a great start.
It's raining here, and ever so dark.  Bah...started out to be such a glorious day!

Happy Monday,
Patti J.

Beautiful Blooms...

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd pop in and share what I did last night.

I actually created a card 'just because'!  I saw a challenge on the
Spectrum Noir Facebook page, and decided that I wanted to enter it.  So...I
grabbed a favorite stamp, and my markers, and a short while later,
a card was born!

Here is the sketch for the Spectrum Noir Sketch Challenge:

And here is my take on the sketch:

The supplies that I used are:

Stampin'Up! Beautiful Blooms Stamp Set
Unknown sentiment
Authentique 'Felicity' Double Sided 6" x 6" Paper Pad

Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend!
A bit breezy here, but the sun is shining down on us...God is good!!!

Hugs and smiles,
Patti J.

March Inspiration Palette at The House...

Good morning!

I'm back today with a new Inspiration Palette challenge for Repeat Impressions.
Our challenge is to create with the photo, colors, or the theme...look at the fun inspiration that Wendy gave us to work with - my mind saw those monochromatic colors and
immediately thought of paint sample cards!  So, guess whose hubby had to make
an emergency trip to our local hardware stores?  lol...

And, here's what I made using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

For this card, I gave the kitty some patterned wall, using a panel that my friend Diane shared with me last week.  I gently laid on some 'floor' and shadows using a couple of alcohol markers.

The paint samples that my Mr. brought me were trimmed down in height and width, and added to the side of the card with dimensional foam.  The sentiment was orignally stamped on the card front, but I had a huge OOPS, so took a scrap of the paint sample and heat embossed the sentiment instead. Whew....thank goodness for scraps and bling, right?

Hope you like this new inspirational palette challenge!
Now it’s your turn! Create a card using the inspiration above, and link it up at The House that Stamps Built. Remember, your creation does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include our designs we would love to see them! Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using our stamps in your submissions!

St. Pat's fun...

Howdy!

It snowed a bit here this morning, but nothing so far is sticking.  Missouri is so crazy -
73 degrees one day, snow the next :)

Last night, I made some boxes of goodies for a Sunday School class at church.
I'll deliver them early tomorrow morning.  Hope they like them.

Don't forget to change those clocks tonight!

Thanks for popping in today - happy weekend,

Patti J.

Happy Moments...

Good morning!

I'm back with a new Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for Repeat Impressions.
Just look at the fun inspiration that Wendy gave us to work with:

I actually used the three top items, AND the diagonal pets, bright colors, and sponging.

And, here's what I made using these Repeat Impressions Stamps:

The 'floor' was sponged with distress inks, and some lines were drawn with a zig marker. The 'wall'
was made using some Stampin'Up paper that my friend Diane gave me on Monday. The pattern is already in the paper - I simply colored the sheet with three colors of Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers: Cocktail Pink PP6, Daffodil CT1, and Meadow LG3.

Now it’s your turn! Create a card using the Tic-Tac-Toe board above, and link it up at The House that Stamps Built. Remember, your creation does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include our designs we would love to see them! Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using our stamps in your submissions!

Check out my sidebar to see how you can save money on your RI orders!

Now, it's time to see what my fellow Rock Stars have created!
We are so excited - we have added a new Rock Star to our family - please
drop by and give Shirley a warm welcome!!!

Girl's Day In...

Howdy ya'll...!

This time last week, I was at my friend Shirley's house, having a crafty day
with several of our friends.  We each brought one easy project, ate, crafted, ate, crafted,
and ate some more.  The menu consisted of things like pizza and chocolate - enough said?
It was a yummy, uber-fun day, and I thought I'd share what we made.

These cute cards were Diane's design. Diane JUST signed up
to sell Stampin'Up!  Here is what she brought for us to create:

Donna brought a fun shaker card.  Check out her tutorial HERE to see an
easy way to create a shaker card:

Donna's mom, Marian, is an 'adopted mom' to us all. At 86, she is still so very creative,
beautiful, and kind.  I feel so blessed to have her as an adopted momma!
Here is the project that Marian brought:

Our friend Sally, is a Stampin'Up! Demonstrator.  She is the one who has the get-togethers
at the local coffee shop that Shirley and I always talk about.  This beautiful card
was Sally's project for the day:

My bestie, Shirley, had the next project. What fun!  You can see that you
end up with the two cards shown, PLUS a punched oval from the background.
Shirley has a tutorial HERE to show you how this is done:

Next up is our friend Cheryl.  She brought these fun interactive items for us to
work with.  You can't see here, but you can actually open these fun hoodies
to find a message inside!  I wasn't sure how I was going to use these, so I did not
add them to cards yet.  These are so much fun!  There's the same detailing on the back!

Last, here was my project.  I'll be sharing the directions for this style of card
sometime next month - watch for it!

We had a fun day. One friend that we'd hoped could make it was unable to
attend, but we're hoping for next year!  This is an annual event for us.
We usually all attend the stamp convention in Collinsville IL in the summer,
as well.  Again, we create (make & takes), eat, and an added bonus is SHOP!

Have a great week - thanks for dropping in!

Happy Valentine's Day

Yep, you read that right!

It just dawned on me that I had not shared the Valentine Cards that we sent the kids.
These were just too cute not to share.

Sally McDonald, a friend of mine for many years, is a Stampin'Up! demonstrator, and has been having a bi-monthly get-together at a local coffee shop. We get to visit, make a card (or several), visit a bit more, and have a cuppa.  When I saw the 'monsters' that day, I knew that the grandkids
would like them.

Granddaughter got the shaker card, as she's 3, and the grandsons got the other two.

Here they are:

Now, you're smiling, right???  Who could resist these cutie patooties?

Thanks for dropping by today!

Hugs,
Patti J.
