Friendship, Jelly Beans, and Great Impressions!

Good morning - happy weekend to you all!

It's Saturday, and my day to post at the Great Impressions Stamps blog.
This week found me creating with bright, fun colors,
and I thought that these delicious stamps would be perfect
with the pink, green, and white color scheme.

for my card.  Aren't they adorable?  That jar looks so real!  Makes my mouth
water for the yummy little jelly beans inside!

This was pretty easy to do!
The card base was created, and scored.
A white panel was cut, and adhered to the card base.
Then, a white circle and a green circle were created with some circle dies.
The white circle was dry embossed with a big 'dotty' folder.
The sweet pink paper -it was edged with an old border die.
The sentiment was stamped on white, and cut out into the fishtail shape.
The jelly bean jars were stamped on white, colored with markers and fussy cut.
The top jar is adhered directly to the card front.
The pink strip is mounted with very thin dimensional foam.
The jar on the left was adhered with a thicker dimensional foam.

This one just made me smile - how about you?

Be sure to check out the Great Impressions blog each day for wonderful inspiration!

Join in our monthly challenge as well - a new challenge will start tomorrow!
We'd love to see what you create!

Outside the Box...

Hi everyone!

Just popping in to let you know that I have a project up on the CardMaker blog today.
My assignment for today was to create an Outside the Box card.
In this challenge, we look through old issues of CardMaker Magazine,
find something we like, and re-make it, using current supplies.
I had fun with a wonderful card by Jeanne Streiff, that was published in the October 2012 issue.
Hope you'll drop by the CardMaker blog today, and check it out!

A fun hint:  Her card was for twin babies - my card has twin piggies :)

Is your curiosity piqued?
You really want to go look now...I know you do!!!

Hugs,
Patti J.

MEOW-velous Day

Hello, everyone!
I'm here today with my post for Die-Versions.
Wow!  I'm so enjoying the stamps and coordinating dies that Die-Versions
is now carrying.  I'm looking forward to seeing the next release, aren't you?

Here's what I created this week:

This card was created using the Die-Versions Cat's Meow Stamps DV-9013, and the
Die-Versions Cat's Meow Dies DV-9014.

I'm finding the Die-Versions stamps to stamp so cleanly, and of course, their dies
cut through any cardstock like butter.  This white cardstock is 100#, and I had no trouble,
even with the tiny string detail on the ball of yarn.
The die cuts just pop right out!

This sweet paper pad, a Colorbok pad from Walmart, seemed perfect for this card.
Sort of matches the ball of yarn, don't you think?
The little heart was stamped with Tim Holtz Broken China ink,
and all coloring was done with Copics.
Some pretty twine completed the focal panel.
Card base is A2 and is made with Kraft cardstock.
The kitty is popped up with some foam squares, and looks so sweet in real life!
Thanks for stopping by today!

I hope that you'll become a follower of the Die-Versions blog - SO much inspiration
to be found there!

And, while you are out and about, be sure to check out the Die-Versions store!

Have a great day,
Patti J.

You are Special

Hi there!
There's a new sketch challenge up today at the Repeat Impressions blog, The House that Stamps Built. Wendy, the RI owner, is honestly the Queen of sketches!

Here is today's sketch:

Now, you all know what a rebel I am.
Rarely do I use a sketch 'as is'.
I decided to flip this one - here's what I created,
using Repeat Impressions '1703-J Bird's Nest Branch',
2617-D Tiny Bird (flight), and '8608-D Special'.

A very sweet blogging friend, Taunya, sent me some beautiful doilies a few weeks ago.
Wondering what would happen if the shape were changed, I ran this one through my Cuttlebug, using the same oval die as the focal image.  End result?  I like it!!!  How about you?

If you'd like to own these, or other beautiful RI stamps, hurry over and check out the Repeat Impressions store!  Be sure to use the coupon on my sidebar to save 10% on each and every order!

We'd love to see YOUR beautiful projects linked up to our challenge!
Nab this fun sketch, get creative, and link up at The House That Stamps Built!
You don't have to use RI stamps to play along,
but if you do, you'll be entered twice!

It's time to see what my Fellow Rock Stars have created with this sketch!

Happy hopping!

Valentine Wraps

Hi, everyone, and happy Saturday to you all!  Gotta love a weekend, right?

Today, I'm here to share another creation made with stamps from the Great Impressions store.  This week, the Great Impressions Design Team has been featuring fun ideas for making treat holders and wraps.  If you haven't seen what the other DT members created, go back to Monday, and take a look at the week of posts...
you will be SO inspired!

Here's what I created:

I had this ever-so-sweet Great Impressions Stamp, D363 Hanging Candy Hearts, and the sentiment, D364 Happy Valentines and Flowers, and just knew a wrap for candy 'conversation hearts' was in the works!  Those of you that know me, know that I love a good 'box' challenge.  Give me something odd sized, and I'll make a box for that item.

Here's how I created this box:

Once your box is completed, adhere the sides.  Then fold the first three flaps in.  Once you have the box the way you want it, fold up and adhere the fourth flap.

This box is the perfect little holder for two boxes of Sweethearts candy hearts.  If you wanted a different treat, you could fill this box with hugs and kisses, hard candies, etc. This box could also be used to tuck in a bracelet, some handmade gift tags....the possibilities are endless!  You can also experiment with different heights and widths!

Well, that's it for today!  I'll be back next Saturday, with another creation using stamps from the Great Impressions store.  I hope you hop over to join in our monthly challenge....'Snow Friends'...there's still time to enter!

Thanks for stopping by!

RI Inspiration Photo Challenge

Good morning!  I hope that your Wednesday is off to a great start.
Today, our challenge at The House that Stamps Built, is an inspirational photo.
Isn't it pretty?

Of course, the beautiful red called out to me, as did the beautiful snowy background.
So, here is what this photo inspired me to create:

The stamps I used were:  Repeat Impressions #5707-M Fan, and
                                             Repeat Impressions #8614-D Find Beauty

The card base was created, set aside, and the focal panel was started.

The fan image, and sentiment were stamped on a 4" x 5.25" white panel, in black ink.

The fan was stamped again on a post it, and fussy cut, creating a mask.

Then, the image was colored, using Copic markers in red, green, and flesh colors.

I had a stencil from Hobby Lobby that had never been used, that seemed perfect for the background.

The panel and stencil were taped down with removable tape.

A stipple brush, and inks, in shades of blue and gray, were used to create the background.

After the stippling was finished, the mask was removed.

Versamark ink was placed over the entire panel, and clear embossing powder sprinkled on.

The panel was heat embossed with the clear powder twice, for a glassy, icy appearance.

The focal panel was attached to card front, and voila!

Photo inspiration was a success!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!
We'd love to see YOUR creation in this challenge!
Snag the inspiration photo, and link up your beautiful creation at The House that Stamps Built - YOU
could be the winner of some Repeat Impressions goodness!!!

You're the Best Thing...

Happy Sunday!

It's my day to post on the Die-Versions blog, and I have a sweet card to share.

I don't know if you are aware, but Die-Versions is now carrying stamp sets with coordinating dies! How incredibly awesome is that?  Today's card features one of those sets.  The stamps and dies are from the Die-Versions collection, 'Love In The Air' DV-9016 .

The stamp set contains TWENTY stamps, and the die set has 16 coordinating dies!  You can see how nicely the dies cut on this card.

I hope this little couple gave you a smile today - they were so much fun to color!  Thanks for stopping by - be sure to check out the website, for these and other fabulous  Die-Version dies, and while you are out and about, check out the DV blog!  There is daily inspiration to be found there - hope you'll sign up to follow us!

Just the two of us...

It's another weekend - happy Saturday, everyone!

With Valentine's Day coming up soon, I thought it would be fun to showcase some of the Great Impressions 'Heart' stamps.

Today's card uses 'The Two of Us - C395, and 'Love Chicks' - B189.

How'd I do this?
1. Draw pencil lines lightly across the 5" x 5" piece of cardstock.
2. Lightly pencil around the red scalloped circle mat, for placement of sentiments.
3. Using Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp the sentiment on each line.
4. Color the image, and add a dash of color to each sentiment's 'heart'.
5. Adhere the image to the red scalloped circle mat.
6. Mat the focal panel with black and red, and adhere to the 5.5" x 5.5" card base
7. Adhere the image to card front, using dimensional foam.

Easy, peasy!  Give it a try!  We'd love to see which stamps you use for
'whatever this technique is'!!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be back next Saturday to share
another creation using stamps from the Great Impressions Store!  Be sure to

Designer's Choice Challenge

Hello there!

I'm here a day late with my Designer's Choice Challenge card for The House that Stamps Built.

This week, we've been challenged by our fellow Rock Star, Deonna, to create a monochromatic card, using the colors brown, black, and white.

I stamped the Repeat Impressions 2628-H Comfy Chair, on brown cardstock, with black ink, and fussy cut it.  A focal panel was cut to 3.75" x 5".  A piece of patterned paper was added to the top, for a 'wallpaper' effect.  I drew in some hardwood floor, and some wainscoating, with a pencil, and completed them with Copic markers.  A 1/4" stip of white cardstock formed the 'chair rail', and the sentiment, Repeat Impressions 410-H Simple Pleasures, was stamped at the bottom edge.  The chair was popped up with dimensional foam.  It's perfect, the way the room lighing behind the camera created the shadow behind the chair! The panel was matted with brown cardstock, and adhered to the card base.

Hope you like this quick and easy creation!

Be sure to check out my fellow Rock Stars' creations this week!

CardMaker - U Inspire Me

Hi everyone!

I'm excited to tell you that my first post as a member of the CardMaker Blog Team is up today
on the CardMaker Blog.  My assignment for the day was 'U Inspire Me'.  For this assignment, we find something that inspires us, and use it to spark our creativity.

My inspiration today came from something I saw while wasting time, browsing Pinterest.

Hope you will check it out!

Project of the Week - Let it Snow...

Hi everyone!
It's my day to share a Project of the Week here on the Repeat Impressions Blog, The House that Stamps Built.  I'm going to share a super easy, clean and simple card, that you can create
for any occasion!  Since it's still winter, and we're expecting sleet and snow this weekend, I decided to use the Repeat Impressions 'Let it Snow' 2006-H, and 'Snowflakes' 8805-K.

To begin, cut panel to desired size.  Place a straight edge across your panel,
and lightly draw a pencil line on each side of your straight edge.

It will look like this:

Next, trim some post it notes, or masking material of your choice, and mask off
the section that you just created (sorry, this photo appears to be upside down!)

Using stamps and inks of your choosing, stamp randomly over the white space,
being sure to overlap your mask now and then.

Remove the mask, and it should look like this:

Gently erase your pencil lines, once your ink is dry.
I have to get a bit excited here - my BEAUTIFUL eraser was part
of my Christmas present from my bestie, Shirley! Isn't she
just awesome?

I use a Stamp-a-ma-jig when I want to get a perfect placement, so
that was my next step.  I stamped Let it Snow on the plastic sheet....

It will look like this:

I removed the plastic sheet, and replaced it with the stamp, and stamped onto the
white space on the card panel with gray ink.

Here's what it looked like:

I decided that it looked a bit 'blah', so I lined up the plastic sheet once again,
moved it a bit to the left, and stamped again, using pink ink.  Much better, right???

At this point, you can do nothing, you can draw a border line, cut a cardstock borderline,
OR add some glitter!  Since I love, love, love glitter, I added a couple strips of
double sided adhesive, and.....

sprinkled with beautiful, sparkly, snowy, glitter!

For the last step, I used my Perfect Papercrafting Mini Rulers (see sidebar to find out how you can get a free cutting mat) and cutting mat, and put a pretty pink mat behind the focal panel,
and mounted that on a gray card base.

So, what do you think?  Imagine wee bugs, with a fun sentiment, or flowers, with a birthday sentiment - you can see that the possibilities are endless!

If you decide to try this out, let me know, so I can come check out your
beautiful creation!

Hope you'll follow us at The House that Stamps Built for loads of inspiration, and fun challenges! There's always a chance to win some wonderful Repeat Impressions stamps!

Just Me. Thinking of You.

Hi there, and Happy Saturday!

It's my day to post at the Great Impressions blog.  It's been SO cold, dreary, and windy here,
that I thought this bicycle looked like something happy to create with today.
I used Great Impressions F203-Garden Bicycle, and

We have oodles of road maps, so I began with a 4" x 5.25" panel that I photocopied from one of the maps, and adhered to the card base.  Our little city is highlighted in blue on the bottom
right corner.  The bike fenders, flowers, seat, wheel centers, and
our city name are all accented with Glossy Accents.

The bike and sentiment were stamped on white card stock.  I colored and fussy cut the bike,
and hand cut the large cloud shape around the sentiment.  A second cloud was die-cut. Both clouds were matted with blue, and trimmed nice and neat.  The small cloud was adhered directly
to the card, while the large cloud and bike were adhered with foam squares
to give them a bit of dimension.

Hope you'll follow the Great Impressions blog, for daily inspiration!
Need stamps?  Check out the Great Impressions Store - wonderful selection and great prices!

Repeat Impressions' Color Challenge

Happy Wednesday!

We are changing things up at bit at the Repeat Impressions' Blog, The House that Stamps Built!
In the past, we've alternated a Designer's Choice Challenge, with a Sketch Challenge each Wednesday. This year, we will try incorporating some color challenges, photo inspiration challenges, etc., along with Wendy's amazing sketches.  Today, we are excited to bring you our first color challenge:

For my card today, I chose a fun shade of blue!
The stamp that I used is Repeat Impressions' 2001-M, Peaceful Observation.

I stamped image on both blue, and white cardstock with VersaMark ink, then heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
The sentiment was stamped with blue ink
The cat was fussy cut from the white cardstock, and adhered onto the blue cardstock.
(This image is fun, as it includes the window, cat, and snowflakes, all in one!)
The blue panel was trimmed to fit inside the silver frame on a thank you note that we'd received a few days ago.
The blue panel was adhered to white, then black cardstock, (mats were created with my Perfect Papercrafting mini rulers - see sidebar for details) and then to card front.
Dotted the snowflakes with white chalkboard marker to add a bit of dimension.
Voila!

My fellow Rock Stars have created some beautiful cards with this color combination - check them out!!!

Great Impressions January Challenge

Hello, and Happy New Year!

This month's challenge at Great Impressions is Winter Friends!

For my card I chose to use LEK101 Snow Buddy.  It's a limited edition set that contains three stamps, and everything you need to create two complete cards!

I love this set!  The coloring is done with Copic Markers, and the white 'snow' you see is created with a chalkboard marker.  Tombow adhesives were used, and some dimensional foam from Hobby Lobby.
The hearts were die cut from an A Muse set, and lightly brushed with a glitter pen.

I'd love to see you join us in this month's challenge (here!) and if you use any GI stamps be sure to link up to the customer gallery (here!). Be sure to stop by the Great Impressions store (here!) and maybe treat yourself to a few new images...did you know shipping is free over $25?!

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Stamping!!!

So Thankful for You...

Good morning!

I've been so eager to share some news with all of you!

This is my first post as a Design Team member for Great Impressions Stamps!
I've been stamping with GI stamps for many years - they were among the first I owned!
I'll be posting a new GI post each Saturday - hope you will drop by and visit!

I've had this sweet image for a long time, and have used it often.  Yesterday, while debating on what to create, I decided to go with something 'thankful' for an after-Christmas greeting.
However, a single layer for easy mailing was also necessary, so here's what I did:

The image and sentiment were stamped where I imagined a floor and wall to be.
After stamping the image, the 'floor', 'baseboard', and 'photo frame', were drawn lightly in pencil. All coloring on the focal panel was done prior to finishing the image.  The image was stamped on blue, tan, and white, colored, fussy cut, and adhered to image - lots of paper piecing took place.

Voila!  A one-layer card was born, that has a fun dimensional look.
Give it a try sometime!

Be sure to check out the Great Impressions Blog, for daily inspiration from the GI team!
Be sure to enter our January Challenge - it will begin tomorrow!
If you create with any Great Impressions stamps, be sure to link up in the Customer Gallery!
Check out the Great Impressions Store for some wonderful crafty goodness - and did you know that shipping is free if you spend more than $25.00????

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.
